בַּֽיהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אִ֑ישׁס “ Has the man ʾī·šs הֲבָ֥א come hă·ḇā הֲלֹ֣ם here hă·lōm ע֖וֹד yet ? ” ‘ō·wḏ יְהוָ֔ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied , way·yō·mer הִנֵּה־ “ Behold , hin·nêh- נֶחְבָּ֖א he has hidden neḥ·bā ה֥וּא himself hū אֶל־ among ’el- הַכֵּלִֽים׃ the baggage .” hak·kê·lîm 1 Samuel 10:23 וַיָּרֻ֙צוּ֙ So they ran way·yā·ru·ṣū וַיִּקָּחֻ֣הוּ and brought [Saul] way·yiq·qā·ḥu·hū מִשָּׁ֔ם - , miš·šām וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֖ב and when he stood way·yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ בְּת֣וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ הָעָ֑ם the people , hā·‘ām מִשִּׁכְמ֖וֹ he was a head miš·šiḵ·mōw וָמָֽעְלָה׃ . . . wā·mā·‘ə·lāh וַיִּגְבַּהּ֙ taller way·yiḡ·bah מִכָּל־ than any mik·kāl הָעָ֔ם of the others . hā·‘ām 1 Samuel 10:24 שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- הָעָ֗ם the people , hā·‘ām הַרְּאִיתֶם֙ “ Do you see har·rə·’î·ṯem אֲשֶׁ֣ר the one ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh כִּ֛י . . . kî בָּֽחַר־ has chosen bā·ḥar- בּ֣וֹ ? bōw אֵ֥ין [There is] no one ’ên כָּמֹ֖הוּ like him kā·mō·hū בְּכָל־ among all bə·ḵāl הָעָ֑ם the people .” hā·‘ām כָל־ And all ḵāl הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ . . . way·yō·mə·rū וַיָּרִ֧עוּ shouted , way·yā·ri·‘ū יְחִ֥י “ Long live yə·ḥî הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃פ the king !” ham·me·leḵ 1 Samuel 10:25 שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר explained way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֗ם the people hā·‘ām אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ מִשְׁפַּ֣ט the rights miš·paṭ הַמְּלֻכָ֔ה of kingship . ham·mə·lu·ḵāh וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב He wrote them way·yiḵ·tōḇ בַּסֵּ֔פֶר on a scroll bas·sê·p̄er וַיַּנַּ֖ח and laid [it] up way·yan·naḥ לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh שְׁמוּאֵ֛ל And Samuel šə·mū·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ sent all kāl- הָעָ֖ם the people hā·‘ām וַיְשַׁלַּ֧ח away , way·šal·laḥ אִ֥ישׁ each ’îš לְבֵיתֽוֹ׃ to his own home . lə·ḇê·ṯōw 1 Samuel 10:26 שָׁא֔וּל Saul šā·’ūl וְגַ֨ם־ also wə·ḡam- הָלַ֥ךְ went hā·laḵ לְבֵית֖וֹ to his home lə·ḇê·ṯōw גִּבְעָ֑תָה in Gibeah , giḇ·‘ā·ṯāh הַחַ֕יִל and the [men] of valor ha·ḥa·yil אֲשֶׁר־ whose ’ă·šer- בְּלִבָּֽם׃ hearts bə·lib·bām אֱלֹהִ֖ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm נָגַ֥ע had touched nā·ḡa‘ וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ went way·yê·lə·ḵū עִמּ֔וֹ with him . ‘im·mōw 1 Samuel 10:27 בְלִיַּ֣עַל But some worthless ḇə·lî·ya·‘al וּבְנֵ֧י men ū·ḇə·nê אָמְר֗וּ said , ’ā·mə·rū מַה־ “ How mah- זֶ֔ה can this [man] zeh יֹּשִׁעֵ֙נוּ֙ save us ? ” yō·ši·‘ê·nū וַיִּבְזֻ֕הוּ So they despised him way·yiḇ·zu·hū הֵבִ֥יאוּ and brought hê·ḇî·’ū ל֖וֹ him lōw וְלֹֽא־ no wə·lō-
