1 Samuel 10:11 וַיְהִ֗י - way·hî כָּל־ All those kāl- מֵאִתְּמ֣וֹל who had formerly mê·’it·tə·mō·wl יֽוֹדְעוֹ֙ known [Saul] yō·wḏ·‘ōw שִׁלְשׁ֔וֹם . . . šil·šō·wm וַיִּרְא֕וּ and saw him way·yir·’ū וְהִנֵּ֥ה . . . wə·hin·nêh נִבָּ֑א prophesying nib·bā עִם־ with ‘im- נְבִאִ֖ים the prophets nə·ḇi·’îm וַיֹּ֨אמֶר asked way·yō·mer הָעָ֜ם . . . hā·‘ām אִ֣ישׁ one ’îš אֶל־ vvv ’el- רֵעֵ֗הוּ another , rê·‘ê·hū מַה־ “ What mah- זֶּה֙ . . . zeh הָיָ֣ה has happened hā·yāh לְבֶן־ to the son lə·ḇen- קִ֔ישׁ of Kish ? qîš שָׁא֖וּל Is Saul šā·’ūl הֲגַ֥ם also hă·ḡam בַּנְּבִיאִֽים׃ among the prophets ? ” ban·nə·ḇî·’îm 1 Samuel 10:12 אִ֥ישׁ Then a man ’îš מִשָּׁ֛ם who lived there miš·šām וַיֹּ֖אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer וַיַּ֨עַן replied , way·ya·‘an וּמִ֣י “ And who ū·mî אֲבִיהֶ֑ם is their father ?” ’ă·ḇî·hem עַל־ So ‘al- כֵּן֙ the saying kên הָיְתָ֣ה became hā·yə·ṯāh לְמָשָׁ֔ל a proverb : lə·mā·šāl שָׁא֖וּל “ Is Saul šā·’ūl הֲגַ֥ם also hă·ḡam בַּנְּבִאִֽים׃ among the prophets ? ” ban·nə·ḇi·’îm 1 Samuel 10:13 וַיְכַל֙ And when Saul had finished way·ḵal מֵֽהִתְנַבּ֔וֹת prophesying , mê·hiṯ·nab·bō·wṯ וַיָּבֹ֖א he went up way·yā·ḇō הַבָּמָֽה׃ to the high place . hab·bā·māh 1 Samuel 10:14 שָׁא֥וּל Now Saul’s šā·’ūl דּ֨וֹד uncle dō·wḏ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ asked way·yō·mer אֵלָ֛יו him ’ê·lāw וְאֶֽל־ and wə·’el- נַעֲר֖וֹ his servant , na·‘ă·rōw אָ֣ן “ Where ’ān הֲלַכְתֶּ֑ם did you go ?” hă·laḵ·tem לְבַקֵּשׁ֙ “ To look for lə·ḇaq·qêš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָ֣אֲתֹנ֔וֹת the donkeys , ” hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר Saul replied . way·yō·mer וַנִּרְאֶ֣ה “ When we saw wan·nir·’eh כִי־ . . . ḵî- אַ֔יִן they were not to be found , ’a·yin וַנָּב֖וֹא we went wan·nā·ḇō·w אֶל־ to ’el- שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ Samuel .” šə·mū·’êl 1 Samuel 10:15 הַגִּֽידָה־ “ Tell hag·gî·ḏāh- נָּ֣א - nā לִ֔י me , ” lî שָׁא֑וּל Saul’s šā·’ūl דּ֣וֹד uncle dō·wḏ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר asked , way·yō·mer מָֽה־ “ what māh- שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ did Samuel šə·mū·’êl אָמַ֥ר say to you ?” ’ā·mar לָכֶ֖ם lā·ḵem 1 Samuel 10:16 שָׁאוּל֙ And Saul šā·’ūl אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֤אמֶר replied way·yō·mer דּוֹד֔וֹ - , dō·w·ḏōw הַגֵּ֤ד “ He assured hag·gêḏ הִגִּיד֙ . . . hig·gîḏ לָ֔נוּ us lā·nū כִּ֥י that kî הָאֲתֹנ֑וֹת the donkeys hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- נִמְצְא֖וּ had been found . ” nim·ṣə·’ū לֹֽא־ But Saul did not lō- הִגִּ֣יד tell hig·gîḏ ל֔וֹ [his uncle] lōw אֲשֶׁ֖ר what ’ă·šer שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃פ Samuel šə·mū·’êl אָמַ֥ר had said ’ā·mar
