לַעֲמֹ֔ד stand la·‘ă·mōḏ לִפְנֵ֨י in the presence lip̄·nê יְהוָ֧ה of YHWH , Yah·weh הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הַקָּד֖וֹשׁ holy haq·qā·ḏō·wōš הָאֱלֹהִ֛ים God ? hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאֶל־ To wə·’el- מִ֖י whom mî יַעֲלֶ֥ה should the ark go up ya·‘ă·leh מֵעָלֵֽינוּ׃ס from here ?” mê·‘ā·lê·nū 1 Samuel 6:21 וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ֙ So they sent way·yiš·lə·ḥū מַלְאָכִ֔ים messengers mal·’ā·ḵîm אֶל־ to ’el- יוֹשְׁבֵ֥י the people yō·wō·šə·ḇê קִרְיַת־ vvv qir·yaṯ- יְעָרִ֖ים of Kiriath-jearim , yə·‘ā·rîm לֵאמֹ֑ר saying , lê·mōr פְלִשְׁתִּים֙ “ The Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֵשִׁ֤בוּ have returned hê·ši·ḇū אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH . Yah·weh רְד֕וּ Come down rə·ḏū הַעֲל֥וּ [and] take it up ha·‘ă·lū אֹת֖וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ with you . ” ’ă·lê·ḵem 1 Samuel 7:1 אַנְשֵׁ֣י׀ Then the men ’an·šê קִרְיַ֣ת vvv qir·yaṯ יְעָרִ֗ים of Kiriath-jearim yə·‘ā·rîm וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ came way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֲר֣וֹן for the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַֽיַּעֲלוּ֙ and took way·ya·‘ă·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּבִ֣אוּ - way·yā·ḇi·’ū אֹת֔וֹ it ’ō·ṯōw אֶל־ into ’el- אֲבִינָדָ֖ב Abinadab’s ’ă·ḇî·nā·ḏāḇ בֵּ֥ית house bêṯ בַּגִּבְעָ֑ה on the hill . bag·giḇ·‘āh וְאֶת־ And wə·’eṯ- קִדְּשׁ֔וּ they consecrated qid·də·šū בְּנוֹ֙ his son bə·nōw אֶלְעָזָ֤ר Eleazar ’el·‘ā·zār לִשְׁמֹ֖ר to guard liš·mōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲר֥וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָֽה׃פ of YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Samuel 7:2 מִיּ֞וֹם And from that day mî·yō·wm וַיִּרְבּוּ֙ a long way·yir·bū הַיָּמִ֔ים time hay·yā·mîm וַיְהִ֗י passed , way·hî עֶשְׂרִ֣ים twenty ‘eś·rîm שָׁנָ֑ה years šā·nāh וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ in all , way·yih·yū הָֽאָרוֹן֙ as the ark hā·’ā·rō·wn שֶׁ֤בֶת remained še·ḇeṯ בְּקִרְיַ֣ת vvv bə·qir·yaṯ יְעָרִ֔ים at Kiriath-jearim . yə·‘ā·rîm כָּל־ And all kāl- בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּנָּה֛וּ mourned way·yin·nā·hū אַחֲרֵ֥י and sought after ’a·ḥă·rê יְהוָֽה׃ס YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Samuel 7:3 שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמֹר֒ - , lê·mōr אִם־ “ If ’im- אַתֶּ֤ם you ’at·tem שָׁבִים֙ are returning šā·ḇîm אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לְבַבְכֶ֗ם your hearts , lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem הָסִ֜ירוּ then rid yourselves of hā·sî·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַנֵּכָ֛ר the foreign han·nê·ḵār אֱלֹהֵ֧י gods ’ĕ·lō·hê וְהָעַשְׁתָּר֑וֹת and Ashtoreths wə·hā·‘aš·tā·rō·wṯ מִתּוֹכְכֶ֖ם among you , mit·tō·wḵ·ḵem וְהָכִ֨ינוּ prepare wə·hā·ḵî·nū לְבַבְכֶ֤ם your hearts lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem אֶל־ for ’el-
