Yah·weh 1 Samuel 6:16 וַחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה And when the five wa·ḥă·miš·šāh סַרְנֵֽי־ rulers sar·nê- פְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים of the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm רָא֑וּ saw [this] , rā·’ū וַיָּשֻׁ֥בוּ they returned way·yā·šu·ḇū עֶקְר֖וֹן to Ekron ‘eq·rō·wn הַהֽוּא׃ס that same ha·hū בַּיּ֥וֹם day . bay·yō·wm 1 Samuel 6:17 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ - wə·’êl·leh אָשָׁ֖ם As a guilt offering ’ā·šām לַֽיהוָ֑ה to YHWH , Yah·weh פְלִשְׁתִּ֛ים the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm הֵשִׁ֧יבוּ had sent back hê·šî·ḇū אֶחָ֜ד one ’e·ḥāḏ הַזָּהָ֔ב gold haz·zā·hāḇ אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer טְחֹרֵ֣י tumor [for each city] : ṭə·ḥō·rê לְאַשְׁדּ֨וֹד Ashdod , lə·’aš·dō·wḏ לְעַזָּ֤ה Gaza , lə·‘az·zāh אֶחָד֙ . . . ’e·ḥāḏ לְאַשְׁקְל֣וֹן Ashkelon , lə·’aš·qə·lō·wn אֶחָ֔ד . . . ’e·ḥāḏ לְגַ֥ת Gath , lə·ḡaṯ אֶחָ֖ד . . . ’e·ḥāḏ לְעֶקְר֥וֹן and Ekron . lə·‘eq·rō·wn אֶחָֽד׃ס . . . ’e·ḥāḏ 1 Samuel 6:18 הַזָּהָ֗ב The number of gold haz·zā·hāḇ וְעַכְבְּרֵ֣י rats wə·‘aḵ·bə·rê מִסְפַּ֞ר also corresponded to the number mis·par כָּל־ . . . kāl- פְלִשְׁתִּים֙ of Philistine p̄ə·liš·tîm עָרֵ֤י cities ‘ā·rê לַחֲמֵ֣שֶׁת [belonging] to the five la·ḥă·mê·šeṯ הַסְּרָנִ֔ים rulers — has·sə·rā·nîm מִבְצָ֔ר the fortified miḇ·ṣār מֵעִ֣יר cities mê·‘îr וְעַ֖ד and wə·‘aḏ הַפְּרָזִ֑י their outlying hap·pə·rā·zî וְעַ֣ד׀ . . . wə·‘aḏ כֹּ֣פֶר villages . kō·p̄er הַגְּדוֹלָ֗ה And the large hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh אָבֵ֣ל rock ’ā·ḇêl עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ on ‘ā·le·hā אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ’ă·šer הִנִּ֤יחוּ they placed hin·nî·ḥū אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh עַ֚ד [stands] to ‘aḏ הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַיּ֣וֹם day hay·yō·wm בִּשְׂדֵ֥ה in the field biś·ḏêh יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ of Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ בֵּֽית־ vvv bêṯ- הַשִּׁמְשִֽׁי׃ of Beth-shemesh . haš·šim·šî 1 Samuel 6:19 וַיַּ֞ךְ But God struck down way·yaḵ בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י . . . bə·’an·šê בֵֽית־ some of the people ḇêṯ- שֶׁ֗מֶשׁ of Beth-shemesh še·meš כִּ֤י because kî רָאוּ֙ they looked rā·’ū בַּאֲר֣וֹן inside the ark ba·’ă·rō·wn יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH .
