יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh וְעִבְדֻ֣הוּ and serve Him wə·‘iḇ·ḏu·hū לְבַדּ֔וֹ only . lə·ḇad·dōw וְיַצֵּ֥ל And He will deliver wə·yaṣ·ṣêl אֶתְכֶ֖ם you ’eṯ·ḵem מִיַּ֥ד from the hand mî·yaḏ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines .” pə·liš·tîm 1 Samuel 7:4 בְּנֵ֣י So the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּסִ֙ירוּ֙ put away way·yā·sî·rū הַבְּעָלִ֖ים the Baals hab·bə·‘ā·lîm וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- הָעַשְׁתָּרֹ֑ת Ashtoreths hā·‘aš·tā·rōṯ וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ and served way·ya·‘aḇ·ḏū לְבַדּֽוֹ׃פ only lə·ḇad·dōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Samuel 7:5 שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer קִבְצ֥וּ “ Gather qiḇ·ṣū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl הַמִּצְפָּ֑תָה to Mizpah , ham·miṣ·pā·ṯāh וְאֶתְפַּלֵּ֥ל and I will pray wə·’eṯ·pal·lêl אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH Yah·weh בַּעַדְכֶ֖ם on your behalf .” ba·‘aḏ·ḵem 1 Samuel 7:6 וַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּ When they had gathered way·yiq·qā·ḇə·ṣū הַ֠מִּצְפָּתָה at Mizpah , ham·miṣ·pā·ṯāh וַיִּֽשְׁאֲבוּ־ they drew way·yiš·’ă·ḇū- מַ֜יִם water ma·yim וַֽיִּשְׁפְּכ֣וּ׀ and poured it out way·yiš·pə·ḵū לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֗ה YHWH . Yah·weh הַה֔וּא On that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm וַיָּצ֙וּמוּ֙ they fasted , way·yā·ṣū·mū שָׁ֔ם and there šām וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ they confessed , way·yō·mə·rū חָטָ֖אנוּ “ We have sinned ḥā·ṭā·nū לַיהוָ֑ה against YHWH .” Yah·weh שְׁמוּאֵ֛ל And Samuel šə·mū·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֧ט judged way·yiš·pōṭ בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl בַּמִּצְפָּֽה׃ at Mizpah . bam·miṣ·pāh 1 Samuel 7:7 פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים When the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm וַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ heard way·yiš·mə·‘ū כִּֽי־ that kî- בְנֵֽי־ the Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . yiś·rā·’êl הִתְקַבְּצ֤וּ had gathered hiṯ·qab·bə·ṣū הַמִּצְפָּ֔תָה at Mizpah , ham·miṣ·pā·ṯāh פְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים their p̄ə·liš·tîm סַרְנֵֽי־ rulers sar·nê- וַיַּעֲל֥וּ marched up way·ya·‘ă·lū אֶל־ toward ’el- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel . yiś·rā·’êl בְּנֵ֣י And when the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ learned of this , way·yiš·mə·‘ū וַיִּֽרְא֖וּ they feared way·yir·’ū מִפְּנֵ֥י . . . mip·pə·nê פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm 1 Samuel 7:8 בְנֵֽי־ [and] ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ said way·yō·mə·rū אֶל־ to ’el- שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל Samuel , šə·mū·’êl אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תַּחֲרֵ֣שׁ stop ta·ḥă·rêš מִזְּעֹ֖ק crying out miz·zə·‘ōq אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū מִמֶּ֔נּוּ for us , mim·men·nū וְיֹשִׁעֵ֖נוּ that He may save us wə·yō·ši·‘ê·nū מִיַּ֥ד from the hand mî·yaḏ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines .” pə·liš·tîm
