אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ to her , ’ê·le·hā וַיַּעֲל֥וּ bringing way·ya·‘ă·lū הַכֶּ֖סֶף the money hak·ke·sep̄ בְּיָדָֽם׃ in their hands . bə·yā·ḏām Judges 16:19 וַתְּיַשְּׁנֵ֙הוּ֙ And having lulled him to sleep wat·tə·yaš·šə·nê·hū עַל־ on ‘al- בִּרְכֶּ֔יהָ her lap , bir·ke·hā וַתִּקְרָ֣א she called wat·tiq·rā לָאִ֔ישׁ a man lā·’îš וַתְּגַלַּ֕ח to shave off wat·tə·ḡal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שֶׁ֖בַע the seven še·ḇa‘ מַחְלְפ֣וֹת braids maḥ·lə·p̄ō·wṯ רֹאשׁ֑וֹ of his head . rō·šōw וַתָּ֙חֶל֙ In this way she began wat·tā·ḥel לְעַנּוֹת֔וֹ to subdue him , lə·‘an·nō·w·ṯōw כֹּח֖וֹ and his strength kō·ḥōw מֵעָלָֽיו׃ . . . mê·‘ā·lāw וַיָּ֥סַר left him . way·yā·sar Judges 16:20 וַתֹּ֕אמֶר Then she called out , wat·tō·mer שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן “ Samson , šim·šō·wn פְּלִשְׁתִּ֥ים the Philistines [are] pə·liš·tîm עָלֶ֖יךָ here ! ” ‘ā·le·ḵā וַיִּקַ֣ץ When [Samson] awoke way·yi·qaṣ מִשְּׁנָת֗וֹ from his sleep , miš·šə·nā·ṯōw וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he thought , way·yō·mer אֵצֵ֞א “ I will escape ’ê·ṣê כְּפַ֤עַם as I did before kə·p̄a·‘am בְּפַ֙עַם֙ . . . bə·p̄a·‘am וְאִנָּעֵ֔ר and shake myself free . ” wə·’in·nā·‘êr וְהוּא֙ But he wə·hū לֹ֣א did not lō יָדַ֔ע know yā·ḏa‘ כִּ֥י that kî יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh סָ֥ר had departed sār מֵעָלָֽיו׃ from him . mê·‘ā·lāw Judges 16:21 פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים Then the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm וַיֹּאחֲז֣וּהוּ seized him , way·yō·ḥă·zū·hū וַֽיְנַקְּר֖וּ gouged out way·naq·qə·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵינָ֑יו his eyes , ‘ê·nāw וַיּוֹרִ֨ידוּ and brought him down way·yō·w·rî·ḏū אוֹת֜וֹ - ’ō·w·ṯōw עַזָּ֗תָה to Gaza , ‘az·zā·ṯāh וַיַּאַסְר֙וּהוּ֙ where he was bound way·ya·’as·rū·hū בַּֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֔יִם with bronze shackles ban·ḥuš·ta·yim וַיְהִ֥י and forced way·hî טוֹחֵ֖ן to grind ṭō·w·ḥên בְּבֵ֥ית grain in the prison bə·ḇêṯ הָאֲסִירִים׃ . . . . hå̄·ʾă·sī·rīm Judges 16:22 שְׂעַר־ However, the hair śə·‘ar- רֹאשׁ֛וֹ of his head rō·šōw וַיָּ֧חֶל began way·yā·ḥel לְצַמֵּ֖חַ to grow lə·ṣam·mê·aḥ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר back after ka·’ă·šer גֻּלָּֽח׃פ it had been shaved . gul·lāḥ Judges 16:23 וְסַרְנֵ֣י Now the lords wə·sar·nê פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים of the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm נֶֽאֱסְפוּ֙ gathered together nɛ·ʾɛ̆s·p̄ū לִזְבֹּ֧חַ to offer liz·bō·aḥ גָּד֛וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl זֶֽבַח־ sacrifice ze·ḇaḥ- אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם to their god ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem לְדָג֥וֹן Dagon . lə·ḏā·ḡō·wn וּלְשִׂמְחָ֑ה They rejoiced ū·lə·śim·ḥāh וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ “ Our god ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū נָתַ֤ן has delivered nā·ṯan שִׁמְשׁ֥וֹן Samson šim·šō·wn אוֹיְבֵֽינוּ׃ our enemy ’ō·wy·ḇê·nū בְּיָדֵ֔נוּ into our hands . ” bə·yā·ḏê·nū אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ Judges 16:24 הָעָ֔ם And when the people hā·‘ām וַיִּרְא֤וּ saw him , way·yir·’ū אֹתוֹ֙ - ’ō·ṯōw וַֽיְהַלְל֖וּ they praised way·hal·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם their god , ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem כִּ֣י saying kî אָמְר֗וּ : ’ā·mə·rū אֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ “ Our god ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū
