וְלֹ֥א remained unknown wə·lō נוֹדַ֖ע . . . . nō·w·ḏa‘ Judges 16:10 דְּלִילָה֙ Then Delilah də·lî·lāh וַתֹּ֤אמֶר said wat·tō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן Samson , šim·šō·wn הִנֵּה֙ . . . hin·nêh הֵתַ֣לְתָּ “ You have mocked hê·ṯal·tā בִּ֔י me bî וַתְּדַבֵּ֥ר and lied to me wat·tə·ḏab·bêr אֵלַ֖י . . . ’ê·lay כְּזָבִ֑ים . . . ! kə·zā·ḇîm עַתָּה֙ Now ‘at·tāh נָּ֣א please nā הַגִּֽידָה־ tell hag·gî·ḏāh- לִ֔י me lî בַּמֶּ֖ה how bam·meh תֵּאָסֵֽר׃ you can be tied up . ” tê·’ā·sêr Judges 16:11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר He replied , way·yō·mer אֵלֶ֔יהָ . . . ’ê·le·hā אִם־ “ If ’im- אָס֤וֹר they tie me up ’ā·sō·wr יַאַסְר֙וּנִי֙ . . . ya·’as·rū·nî חֲדָשִׁ֔ים with new ḥă·ḏā·šîm בַּעֲבֹתִ֣ים ropes ba·‘ă·ḇō·ṯîm אֲשֶׁ֛ר that ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ have never lō- נַעֲשָׂ֥ה been used na·‘ă·śāh בָהֶ֖ם . . . ḇā·hem מְלָאכָ֑ה . . . , mə·lā·ḵāh וְחָלִ֥יתִי I will become as weak wə·ḥā·lî·ṯî וְהָיִ֖יתִי . . . wə·hā·yî·ṯî כְּאַחַ֥ד as any kə·’a·ḥaḏ הָאָדָֽם׃ other man . ” hā·’ā·ḏām Judges 16:12 דְּלִילָה֩ So Delilah də·lî·lāh וַתִּקַּ֣ח took wat·tiq·qaḥ חֲדָשִׁ֜ים new ḥă·ḏā·šîm עֲבֹתִ֨ים ropes , ‘ă·ḇō·ṯîm וַתַּאַסְרֵ֣הוּ tied him up wat·ta·’as·rê·hū בָהֶ֗ם with them , ḇā·hem וַתֹּ֤אמֶר and called out , wat·tō·mer אֵלָיו֙ . . . ’ê·lāw שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן “ Samson , šim·šō·wn פְּלִשְׁתִּ֤ים the Philistines are pə·liš·tîm עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ here ! ” ‘ā·le·ḵā וְהָאֹרֵ֖ב But while the men wə·hā·’ō·rêḇ יֹשֵׁ֣ב were hidden yō·šêḇ בֶּחָ֑דֶר in her room , be·ḥā·ḏer וַֽיְנַתְּקֵ֛ם he snapped way·nat·tə·qêm מֵעַ֥ל the ropes off mê·‘al זְרֹעֹתָ֖יו his arms zə·rō·‘ō·ṯāw כַּחֽוּט׃ like [they were] threads . ka·ḥūṭ Judges 16:13 דְּלִילָ֜ה Then Delilah də·lî·lāh וַתֹּ֨אמֶר said wat·tō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- שִׁמְשׁ֗וֹן Samson , šim·šō·wn הֵתַ֤לְתָּ “ You have mocked hê·ṯal·tā בִּי֙ me bî וַתְּדַבֵּ֤ר and lied to me wat·tə·ḏab·bêr אֵלַי֙ . . . ’ê·lay כְּזָבִ֔ים . . . kə·zā·ḇîm עַד־ vvv ‘aḏ- הֵ֜נָּה all along ! hên·nāh הַגִּ֣ידָה Tell hag·gî·ḏāh לִּ֔י me lî בַּמֶּ֖ה how bam·meh תֵּאָסֵ֑ר you can be tied up . ” tê·’ā·sêr וַיֹּ֣אמֶר He told her , way·yō·mer אֵלֶ֔יהָ . . . ’ê·le·hā אִם־ “ If ’im- תַּאַרְגִ֗י you weave ta·’ar·ḡî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שֶׁ֛בַע the seven še·ḇa‘ מַחְלְפ֥וֹת braids maḥ·lə·p̄ō·wṯ רֹאשִׁ֖י of my head rō·šî עִם־ into ‘im- הַמַּסָּֽכֶת׃ the web of a loom [and tighten it with a pin, I will become as weak as any other man.] ” ham·mas·sā·ḵeṯ Judges 16:14 וַתִּתְקַע֙ [So while he slept, Delilah took the seven braids of his hair and wove them into the web]. Then she tightened [it] wat·tiṯ·qa‘ בַּיָּתֵ֔ד with a pin bay·yā·ṯêḏ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר and called wat·tō·mer אֵלָ֔יו to him , ’ê·lāw שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן “ Samson , šim·šō·wn פְּלִשְׁתִּ֥ים the Philistines [are] pə·liš·tîm עָלֶ֖יךָ here ! ” ‘ā·le·ḵā וַיִּיקַץ֙ But he awoke way·yî·qaṣ
