עַד־ in ‘aḏ- לֶ֔חִי Lehi , le·ḥî וּפִלְשִׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines ū·p̄il·šit·tīm הֵרִ֣יעוּ came out shouting hê·rî·‘ū לִקְרָאת֑וֹ against him . liq·rā·ṯōw ר֣וּחַ And the Spirit rū·aḥ יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתִּצְלַ֨ח came mightily wat·tiṣ·laḥ עָלָ֜יו upon him . ‘ā·lāw הָעֲבֹתִ֜ים The ropes hā·‘ă·ḇō·ṯîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ on ‘al- זְרוֹעוֹתָ֗יו his arms zə·rō·w·‘ō·w·ṯāw וַתִּהְיֶ֨ינָה became wat·tih·ye·nāh בָּעֲר֣וּ like burnt bā·‘ă·rū בָאֵ֔שׁ . . . ḇā·’êš כַּפִּשְׁתִּים֙ flax , kap·piš·tîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אֱסוּרָ֖יו and the bonds ’ĕ·sū·rāw וַיִּמַּ֥סּוּ broke loose way·yim·mas·sū מֵעַ֥ל from mê·‘al יָדָֽיו׃ his hands . yā·ḏāw Judges 15:15 וַיִּמְצָ֥א He found way·yim·ṣā טְרִיָּ֑ה the fresh ṭə·rî·yāh לְחִֽי־ jawbone lə·ḥî- חֲמ֖וֹר of a donkey , ḥă·mō·wr וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח reached out way·yiš·laḥ יָדוֹ֙ his hand yā·ḏōw וַיִּקָּחֶ֔הָ and took it , way·yiq·qā·ḥe·hā וַיַּךְ־ and struck down way·yaḵ- בָּ֖הּ - bāh אֶ֥לֶף a thousand ’e·lep̄ אִֽישׁ׃ men . ’îš Judges 15:16 שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן Then Samson šim·šō·wn וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said : way·yō·mer בִּלְחִ֣י “ With the jawbone bil·ḥî הַחֲמ֔וֹר of a donkey ha·ḥă·mō·wr חֲמ֖וֹר I have piled them ḥă·mō·wr חֲמֹרָתָ֑יִם into heaps . ḥă·mō·rā·ṯā·yim בִּלְחִ֣י With the jawbone bil·ḥî הַחֲמ֔וֹר of a donkey ha·ḥă·mō·wr הִכֵּ֖יתִי I have slain hik·kê·ṯî אֶ֥לֶף a thousand ’e·lep̄ אִֽישׁ׃ men . ” ’îš Judges 15:17 וַֽיְהִי֙ And way·hî כְּכַלֹּת֣וֹ when [Samson] had finished kə·ḵal·lō·ṯōw לְדַבֵּ֔ר speaking , lə·ḏab·bêr וַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְ he cast way·yaš·lêḵ הַלְּחִ֖י the jawbone hal·lə·ḥî מִיָּד֑וֹ from his hand ; mî·yā·ḏōw וַיִּקְרָ֛א and he named way·yiq·rā הַה֖וּא that ha·hū לַמָּק֥וֹם place lam·mā·qō·wm רָ֥מַת vvv rā·maṯ לֶֽחִי׃ Ramath-lehi . le·ḥî Judges 15:18 מְאֹד֒ And being very mə·’ōḏ וַיִּצְמָא֮ thirsty , way·yiṣ·mā וַיִּקְרָ֤א [Samson] cried out way·yiq·rā אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּאמַ֔ר . . . , way·yō·mar אַתָּה֙ “ You ’at·tāh נָתַ֣תָּ have accomplished nā·ṯa·tā הַזֹּ֑את this haz·zōṯ הַגְּדֹלָ֖ה great hag·gə·ḏō·lāh הַתְּשׁוּעָ֥ה deliverance hat·tə·šū·‘āh בְיַֽד־ through ḇə·yaḏ- עַבְדְּךָ֔ Your servant . ‘aḇ·də·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְעַתָּה֙ Must I now wə·‘at·tāh אָמ֣וּת die ’ā·mūṯ בַּצָּמָ֔א of thirst baṣ·ṣā·mā וְנָפַלְתִּ֖י and fall wə·nā·p̄al·tî בְּיַ֥ד into the hands bə·yaḏ הָעֲרֵלִֽים׃ of the uncircumcised ? ” hā·‘ă·rê·lîm Judges 15:19 אֱלֹהִ֜ים So God ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּבְקַ֨ע opened up way·yiḇ·qa‘ הַמַּכְתֵּ֣שׁ the hollow place ham·maḵ·têš אֲשֶׁר־ ’ă·šer- בַּלֶּ֗חִי in Lehi , bal·le·ḥî מַ֙יִם֙ and water ma·yim וַיֵּצְא֨וּ came out way·yê·ṣə·’ū מִמֶּ֤נּוּ of it . mim·men·nū וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּ When Samson drank , way·yê·šət
