Judges 9:29 וּמִ֨י If only ū·mî יִתֵּ֜ן . . . yit·tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh הָעָ֤ם people hā·‘ām בְּיָדִ֔י were under my authority , bə·yā·ḏî וְאָסִ֖ירָה I would remove wə·’ā·sî·rāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ Abimelech ; ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ I would say way·yō·mer לַאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ to [him] , la·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ רַבֶּ֥ה ‘ Muster rab·beh צְבָאֲךָ֖ your army ṣə·ḇā·’ă·ḵā וָצֵֽאָה׃ and come out ! ’” wā·ṣê·’āh Judges 9:30 זְבֻל֙ When Zebul zə·ḇul שַׂר־ the governor śar- הָעִ֔יר of the city hā·‘îr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁמַ֗ע heard way·yiš·ma‘ דִּבְרֵ֖י the words diḇ·rê גַּ֣עַל of Gaal ga·‘al בֶּן־ son ben- עָ֑בֶד of Ebed , ‘ā·ḇeḏ וַיִּ֖חַר he burned way·yi·ḥar אַפּֽוֹ׃ with anger . ’ap·pōw Judges 9:31 וַיִּשְׁלַ֧ח So he covertly sent way·yiš·laḥ בְּתָרְמָ֣ה . . . bə·ṯā·rə·māh מַלְאָכִ֛ים messengers mal·’ā·ḵîm אֶל־ to ’el- אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ Abimelech ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ לֵאמֹ֑ר to say , lê·mōr הִנֵּה֩ “ Look , hin·nêh גַ֨עַל Gaal ḡa·‘al בֶּן־ son ben- עֶ֤בֶד of Ebed ‘e·ḇeḏ וְאֶחָיו֙ and his brothers wə·’e·ḥāw בָּאִ֣ים have come bā·’îm שְׁכֶ֔מָה to Shechem šə·ḵe·māh וְהִנָּ֛ם . . . wə·hin·nām צָרִ֥ים and are stirring up ṣā·rîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעִ֖יר the city hā·‘îr עָלֶֽיךָ׃ against you . ‘ā·le·ḵā Judges 9:32 וְעַתָּה֙ Now then , wə·‘at·tāh לַ֔יְלָה tonight lay·lāh אַתָּ֖ה you ’at·tāh וְהָעָ֣ם and the people wə·hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִתָּ֑ךְ with you ’it·tāḵ ק֣וּם are to come qūm וֶאֱרֹ֖ב and lie in wait we·’ĕ·rōḇ בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃ in the fields . baś·śā·ḏeh Judges 9:33 וְהָיָ֤ה And wə·hā·yāh בַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ in the morning ḇab·bō·qer כִּזְרֹ֣חַ at sunrise kiz·rō·aḥ הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ . . . , haš·še·meš תַּשְׁכִּ֖ים get up taš·kîm וּפָשַׁטְתָּ֣ and advance ū·p̄ā·šaṭ·tā עַל־ against ‘al- הָעִ֑יר the city . hā·‘îr וְהִנֵּה־ . . . wə·hin·nêh- ה֞וּא When [Gaal] hū וְהָעָ֤ם and his men wə·hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִתּוֹ֙ - ’it·tōw יֹצְאִ֣ים come out yō·ṣə·’îm אֵלֶ֔יךָ against you , ’ê·le·ḵā וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ do wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā לּ֔וֹ to them lōw כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר whatever ka·’ă·šer תִּמְצָ֥א you are able tim·ṣā יָדֶֽךָ׃ס . . . . ” yā·ḏe·ḵā Judges 9:34 אֲבִימֶ֛לֶךְ So Abimelech ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הָעָ֥ם his troops hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- עִמּ֖וֹ - ‘im·mōw וַיָּ֧קָם set out way·yā·qām לָ֑יְלָה by night lā·yə·lāh וַיֶּאֶרְב֣וּ and lay in wait way·ye·’er·ḇū עַל־ against ‘al- שְׁכֶ֔ם Shechem šə·ḵem אַרְבָּעָ֖ה in four ’ar·bā·‘āh רָאשִֽׁים׃ companies . rā·šîm
