אֲבִימֶ֤לֶךְ and you have made Abimelech , ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ בֶּן־ the son ben- אֲמָתוֹ֙ of his maidservant , ’ă·mā·ṯōw וַתַּמְלִ֜יכוּ king wat·tam·lî·ḵū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַל־ over ‘al- בַּעֲלֵ֣י the leaders ba·‘ă·lê שְׁכֶ֔ם of Shechem šə·ḵem כִּ֥י because kî הֽוּא׃ he hū אֲחִיכֶ֖ם is your brother — ’ă·ḥî·ḵem Judges 9:19 וְאִם־ if wə·’im- עֲשִׂיתֶ֛ם you have acted ‘ă·śî·ṯem בֶּאֱמֶ֨ת faithfully be·’ĕ·meṯ וּבְתָמִ֧ים and honestly ū·ḇə·ṯā·mîm עִם־ toward ‘im- יְרֻבַּ֥עַל Jerubbaal yə·rub·ba·‘al וְעִם־ . . . wə·‘im- בֵּית֖וֹ and his house bê·ṯōw הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הַיּ֣וֹם day , hay·yō·wm שִׂמְחוּ֙ [then] may you rejoice śim·ḥū בַּאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ in Abimelech , ba·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ גַּם־ and gam- ה֖וּא he hū בָּכֶֽם׃ in you bā·ḵem וְיִשְׂמַ֥ח - . wə·yiś·maḥ Judges 9:20 וְאִם־ But if wə·’im- אַ֕יִן not , ’a·yin אֵשׁ֙ may fire ’êš תֵּ֤צֵא come tê·ṣê מֵאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ from Abimelech mê·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וְתֹאכַ֛ל and consume wə·ṯō·ḵal אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בַּעֲלֵ֥י the leaders ba·‘ă·lê שְׁכֶ֖ם of Shechem šə·ḵem וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית . . . bêṯ מִלּ֑וֹא Beth-millo , mil·lō·w אֵ֜שׁ and may fire ’êš וְתֵצֵ֨א come wə·ṯê·ṣê מִבַּעֲלֵ֤י from the leaders mib·ba·‘ă·lê שְׁכֶם֙ of Shechem šə·ḵem וּמִבֵּ֣ית and ū·mib·bêṯ מִלּ֔וֹא Beth-millo mil·lō·w וְתֹאכַ֖ל and consume wə·ṯō·ḵal אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃ Abimelech . ” ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ Judges 9:21 יוֹתָ֔ם Then Jotham yō·w·ṯām וַיָּ֣נָס ran away , way·yā·nās וַיִּבְרַ֖ח escaping way·yiḇ·raḥ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ . . . way·yê·leḵ בְּאֵ֑רָה to Beer , bə·’ê·rāh וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב and he lived way·yê·šeḇ שָׁ֔ם there šām מִפְּנֵ֖י for fear mip·pə·nê אָחִֽיו׃פ of his brother ’ā·ḥîw אֲבִימֶ֥לֶךְ Abimelech . ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ Judges 9:22 אֲבִימֶ֛לֶךְ After Abimelech ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וַיָּ֧שַׂר had reigned way·yā·śar עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl שָׁלֹ֥שׁ for three šā·lōš שָׁנִֽים׃ years , šā·nîm Judges 9:23 אֱלֹהִים֙ God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח sent way·yiš·laḥ ר֣וּחַ a spirit rū·aḥ רָעָ֔ה of animosity rā·‘āh בֵּ֣ין between bên אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ Abimelech ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וּבֵ֖ין and ū·ḇên בַּעֲלֵ֣י the leaders ba·‘ă·lê שְׁכֶ֑ם of Shechem šə·ḵem בַעֲלֵי־ and caused them ḇa·‘ă·lê- שְׁכֶ֖ם . . . šə·ḵem בַּאֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃ to treat Abimelech ba·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וַיִּבְגְּד֥וּ deceitfully , way·yiḇ·gə·ḏū Judges 9:24 חֲמַ֖ס in order that the crime ḥă·mas שִׁבְעִ֣ים against the seventy šiḇ·‘îm בְּנֵֽי־ sons bə·nê- יְרֻבָּ֑עַל of Jerubbaal yə·rub·bā·‘al לָב֕וֹא might come to justice lā·ḇō·w
