Judges 8:26 מִשְׁקַ֞ל The weight miš·qal הַזָּהָב֙ of the gold haz·zā·hāḇ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer נִזְמֵ֤י earrings niz·mê שָׁאָ֔ל he had requested šā·’āl וַיְהִ֗י was way·hî אֶ֥לֶף 1 ,700 ’e·lep̄ וּשְׁבַע־ . . . ū·šə·ḇa‘- מֵא֖וֹת . . . mê·’ō·wṯ זָהָ֑ב [shekels] , zā·hāḇ לְ֠בַד in addition to lə·ḇaḏ מִן־ . . . min- הַשַּׂהֲרֹנִ֨ים the crescent ornaments , haś·śa·hă·rō·nîm וְהַנְּטִפ֜וֹת the pendants , wə·han·nə·ṭi·p̄ō·wṯ הָאַרְגָּמָ֗ן the purple hā·’ar·gā·mān וּבִגְדֵ֣י garments ū·ḇiḡ·ḏê שֶׁעַל֙ of še·‘al מַלְכֵ֣י the kings mal·ḵê מִדְיָ֔ן of Midian , miḏ·yān וּלְבַד֙ . . . ū·lə·ḇaḏ מִן־ . . . min- הָ֣עֲנָק֔וֹת and the chains hā·‘ă·nā·qō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer בְּצַוְּארֵ֥י from the necks bə·ṣaw·wə·rê גְמַלֵּיהֶֽם׃ of their camels . ḡə·mal·lê·hem Judges 8:27 גִדְע֜וֹן [From all this] Gideon ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn וַיַּעַשׂ֩ made way·ya·‘aś אוֹת֨וֹ - ’ō·w·ṯōw לְאֵפ֗וֹד an ephod , lə·’ê·p̄ō·wḏ וַיַּצֵּ֨ג which he placed way·yaṣ·ṣêḡ אוֹת֤וֹ - ’ō·w·ṯōw בְּעָפְרָ֔ה in Ophrah , bə·‘ā·p̄ə·rāh בְעִירוֹ֙ his hometown . ḇə·‘î·rōw כָֽל־ But soon all ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּזְנ֧וּ prostituted themselves way·yiz·nū אַחֲרָ֖יו by worshiping it ’a·ḥă·rāw שָׁ֑ם there , šām וַיְהִ֛י and it became way·hî לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ a snare lə·mō·w·qêš לְגִדְע֥וֹן to Gideon lə·ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn וּלְבֵית֖וֹ and his household . ū·lə·ḇê·ṯōw Judges 8:28 מִדְיָ֗ן In this way Midian miḏ·yān וַיִּכָּנַ֣ע was subdued way·yik·kā·na‘ לִפְנֵי֙ before lip̄·nê בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וְלֹ֥א and did not wə·lō לָשֵׂ֣את raise lā·śêṯ רֹאשָׁ֑ם its head rō·šām יָסְפ֖וּ again . yā·sə·p̄ū הָאָ֛רֶץ So the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַתִּשְׁקֹ֥ט had rest wat·tiš·qōṭ אַרְבָּעִ֥ים for forty ’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֖ה years šā·nāh בִּימֵ֥י in the days bî·mê גִדְעֽוֹן׃פ of Gideon , ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn Judges 8:29 יְרֻבַּ֥עַל and he — Jerubbaal yə·rub·ba·‘al בֶּן־ son ben- יוֹאָ֖שׁ of Joash — yō·w·’āš וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ returned way·yê·leḵ בְּבֵיתֽוֹ׃ home bə·ḇê·ṯōw וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב and settled down . way·yê·šeḇ Judges 8:30 וּלְגִדְע֗וֹן Gideon ū·lə·ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn הָיוּ֙ had hā·yū שִׁבְעִ֣ים seventy šiḇ·‘îm בָּנִ֔ים sons bā·nîm יֹצְאֵ֖י of his own yō·ṣə·’ê יְרֵכ֑וֹ . . . , yə·rê·ḵōw כִּֽי־ since kî- הָ֥יוּ he had hā·yū לֽוֹ׃ lōw רַבּ֖וֹת many rab·bō·wṯ נָשִׁ֥ים wives . nā·šîm Judges 8:31 וּפִֽילַגְשׁוֹ֙ His concubine , ū·p̄î·laḡ·šōw אֲשֶׁ֣ר who [dwelt] ’ă·šer בִּשְׁכֶ֔ם in Shechem , biš·ḵem גַם־ also ḡam- הִ֖יא . . . hî יָֽלְדָה־ bore yā·lə·ḏāh- לּ֥וֹ him lōw בֵּ֑ן a son , bên וַיָּ֥שֶׂם and he named way·yā·śem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁמ֖וֹ him šə·mōw
