וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖נוּ and delivered us way·yit·tə·nê·nū בְּכַף־ into the hand bə·ḵap̄- מִדְיָֽן׃ of Midian . ” miḏ·yān Judges 6:14 יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּ֤פֶן turned way·yi·p̄en אֵלָיו֙ to him ’ê·lāw וַיֹּ֗אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer לֵ֚ךְ “ Go lêḵ בְּכֹחֲךָ֣ in the strength you have bə·ḵō·ḥă·ḵā זֶ֔ה . . . zeh וְהוֹשַׁעְתָּ֥ and save wə·hō·wō·ša‘·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl מִכַּ֣ף from the hand mik·kap̄ מִדְיָ֑ן of Midian . miḏ·yān הֲלֹ֖א Am I not hă·lō שְׁלַחְתִּֽיךָ׃ sending you ? ” šə·laḥ·tî·ḵā Judges 6:15 בִּ֣י “ Please , bî אֲדֹנָ֔י my Lord , ” ’ă·ḏō·nāy וַיֹּ֤אמֶר [Gideon] replied way·yō·mer אֵלָיו֙ - , ’ê·lāw בַּמָּ֥ה “ how bam·māh אוֹשִׁ֖יעַ can I save ’ō·wō·šî·a‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel ? yiś·rā·’êl הִנֵּ֤ה Indeed , hin·nêh אַלְפִּי֙ my clan ’al·pî הַדַּ֣ל is the weakest had·dal בִּמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה in Manasseh , bim·naš·šeh וְאָנֹכִ֥י and I wə·’ā·nō·ḵî הַצָּעִ֖יר am the youngest haṣ·ṣā·‘îr אָבִֽי׃ in my father’s ’ā·ḇî בְּבֵ֥ית house . ” bə·ḇêṯ Judges 6:16 כִּ֥י “ Surely kî אֶהְיֶ֖ה I will be ’eh·yeh עִמָּ֑ךְ with you , ” ‘im·māḵ יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר replied way·yō·mer אֵלָיו֙ - , ’ê·lāw וְהִכִּיתָ֥ “ and you will strike down wə·hik·kî·ṯā מִדְיָ֖ן [all] the Midianites miḏ·yān אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶחָֽד׃ as one ’e·ḥāḏ כְּאִ֥ישׁ man . ” kə·’îš Judges 6:17 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Gideon answered way·yō·mer אֵלָ֔יו - , ’ê·lāw אִם־ “ If ’im- נָ֛א . . . nā מָצָ֥אתִי I have found mā·ṣā·ṯî חֵ֖ן favor ḥên בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ in Your sight , bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ give wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā לִּי֙ me lî א֔וֹת a sign ’ō·wṯ שָׁאַתָּ֖ה that [it is] You šā·’at·tāh מְדַבֵּ֥ר speaking mə·ḏab·bêr עִמִּֽי׃ with me . ‘im·mî Judges 6:18 נָ֨א Please nā אַל־ do not ’al- תָמֻ֤שׁ depart ṯā·muš מִזֶּה֙ from this [place] miz·zeh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- בֹּאִ֣י I return bō·’î אֵלֶ֔יךָ to You . ’ê·le·ḵā וְהֹֽצֵאתִי֙ Let me bring wə·hō·ṣê·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִנְחָתִ֔י my offering min·ḥā·ṯî וְהִנַּחְתִּ֖י and set [it] wə·hin·naḥ·tî לְפָנֶ֑יךָ before You . ” lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וַיֹּאמַ֕ר And [YHWH] said , way·yō·mar אָנֹכִ֥י “ I ’ā·nō·ḵî אֵשֵׁ֖ב will stay ’ê·šêḇ עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ שׁוּבֶֽךָ׃ you return . ” šū·ḇe·ḵā Judges 6:19 וְגִדְע֣וֹן So Gideon wə·ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn בָּ֗א went in bā וַיַּ֤עַשׂ and prepared way·ya·‘aś גְּדִֽי־ a young goat gə·ḏî- עִזִּים֙ . . . ‘iz·zîm מַצּ֔וֹת and unleavened bread maṣ·ṣō·wṯ וְאֵיפַת־ and an ephah wə·’ê·p̄aṯ- קֶ֣מַח of flour . qe·maḥ
