מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם out of Egypt mim·miṣ·ra·yim וַתָּבֹ֖אוּ and you reached wat·tā·ḇō·’ū הַיָּ֑מָּה the Red Sea , hay·yām·māh מִצְרַ֜יִם the Egyptians miṣ·ra·yim וַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּ pursued way·yir·də·p̄ū אַחֲרֵ֧י . . . ’a·ḥă·rê אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם [them] ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem בְּרֶ֥כֶב with chariots bə·re·ḵeḇ וּבְפָרָשִׁ֖ים and horsemen ū·ḇə·p̄ā·rā·šîm יַם־ as far as the Red Sea yam- סֽוּף׃ . . . . sūp̄ Joshua 24:7 וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ So [your fathers] cried out way·yiṣ·‘ă·qū אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַיָּ֨שֶׂם and He put way·yā·śem מַֽאֲפֵ֜ל darkness ma·’ă·p̄êl בֵּינֵיכֶ֣ם׀ between bê·nê·ḵem וּבֵ֣ין . . . ū·ḇên הַמִּצְרִ֗ים you and the Egyptians , ham·miṣ·rîm עָלָ֤יו over whom ‘ā·lāw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיָּבֵ֨א He brought way·yā·ḇê הַיָּם֙ the sea hay·yām וַיְכַסֵּ֔הוּ and engulfed them . way·ḵas·sê·hū עֵינֵיכֶ֔ם Your very eyes ‘ê·nê·ḵem אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ וַתִּרְאֶ֙ינָה֙ saw wat·tir·’e·nāh אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- עָשִׂ֖יתִי I did ‘ā·śî·ṯî בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם to the Egyptians . bə·miṣ·rā·yim וַתֵּשְׁב֥וּ Then you lived wat·tê·šə·ḇū בַמִּדְבָּ֖ר in the wilderness ḇam·miḏ·bār רַבִּֽים׃ for a long rab·bîm יָמִ֥ים time . yā·mîm Joshua 24:8 וָאָבִאָה Later, I brought wå̄·ʾå̄·ḇi·ʾå̄h אֶתְכֶ֗ם - ’eṯ·ḵem אֶל־ you to ’el- אֶ֤רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ הָאֱמֹרִי֙ of the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî הַיּוֹשֵׁב֙ who lived hay·yō·wō·šêḇ בְּעֵ֣בֶר beyond bə·‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן the Jordan . hay·yar·dên וַיִּֽלָּחֲמ֖וּ They fought way·yil·lā·ḥă·mū אִתְּכֶ֑ם against you , ’it·tə·ḵem וָאֶתֵּ֨ן but I delivered wā·’et·tên אוֹתָ֤ם them ’ō·w·ṯām בְּיֶדְכֶם֙ into your hand , bə·yeḏ·ḵem וַתִּֽירְשׁ֣וּ that you should possess wat·tî·rə·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַרְצָ֔ם their land ’ar·ṣām וָאַשְׁמִידֵ֖ם when I destroyed them wā·’aš·mî·ḏêm מִפְּנֵיכֶֽם׃ before you . mip·pə·nê·ḵem Joshua 24:9 בָּלָ֤ק Then Balak bā·lāq בֶּן־ son ben- צִפּוֹר֙ of Zippor , ṣip·pō·wr מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ וַיָּ֨קָם set out way·yā·qām וַיִּלָּ֖חֶם to fight way·yil·lā·ḥem בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל against Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח He sent way·yiš·laḥ וַיִּקְרָ֛א . . . way·yiq·rā לְבִלְעָ֥ם for Balaam lə·ḇil·‘ām בֶּן־ son ben- בְּע֖וֹר of Beor bə·‘ō·wr לְקַלֵּ֥ל to curse you lə·qal·lêl אֶתְכֶֽם׃ - , ’eṯ·ḵem Joshua 24:10 אָבִ֖יתִי but I would ’ā·ḇî·ṯî וְלֹ֥א not wə·lō לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ listen liš·mō·a‘ לְבִלְעָ֑ם to Balaam . lə·ḇil·‘ām וַיְבָ֤רֶךְ So he blessed you way·ḇā·reḵ בָּרוֹךְ֙ again and again , bā·rō·wḵ אֶתְכֶ֔ם - ’eṯ·ḵem וָאַצִּ֥ל and I delivered wā·’aṣ·ṣil אֶתְכֶ֖ם you ’eṯ·ḵem מִיָּדֽוֹ׃ from his hand . mî·yā·ḏōw Joshua 24:11 וַתַּעַבְר֣וּ After this, you crossed wat·ta·‘aḇ·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיַּרְדֵּן֮ the Jordan hay·yar·dên וַתָּבֹ֣אוּ and came wat·tā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- יְרִיחוֹ֒ Jericho . yə·rî·ḥōw בַּעֲלֵֽי־ The people ba·‘ă·lê- יְ֠רִיחוֹ of Jericho yə·rî·ḥōw
