וַיִּלָּחֲמ֣וּ fought way·yil·lā·ḥă·mū בָכֶ֣ם against you , ḇā·ḵem הָֽאֱמֹרִ֨י as did the Amorites , hā·’ĕ·mō·rî וְהַפְּרִזִּ֜י Perizzites , wə·hap·pə·riz·zî וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֗י Canaanites , wə·hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî וְהַֽחִתִּי֙ Hittites , wə·ha·ḥit·tî וְהַגִּרְגָּשִׁ֔י Girgashites , wə·hag·gir·gā·šî הַֽחִוִּ֖י Hivites , ha·ḥiw·wî וְהַיְבוּסִ֑י and Jebusites , wə·hay·ḇū·sî וָאֶתֵּ֥ן and I delivered wā·’et·tên אוֹתָ֖ם them ’ō·w·ṯām בְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃ into your hand . bə·yeḏ·ḵem Joshua 24:12 וָאֶשְׁלַ֤ח I sent wā·’eš·laḥ הַצִּרְעָ֔ה the hornet haṣ·ṣir·‘āh לִפְנֵיכֶם֙ ahead of you , lip̄·nê·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַתְּגָ֤רֶשׁ and it drove out wat·tə·ḡā·reš אוֹתָם֙ - ’ō·w·ṯām שְׁנֵ֖י the two šə·nê הָאֱמֹרִ֑י Amorite hā·’ĕ·mō·rî מַלְכֵ֣י kings mal·ḵê מִפְּנֵיכֶ֔ם before you , mip·pə·nê·ḵem לֹ֥א [but] not lō בְחַרְבְּךָ֖ by your own sword ḇə·ḥar·bə·ḵā וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō בְקַשְׁתֶּֽךָ׃ or bow . ḇə·qaš·te·ḵā Joshua 24:13 וָאֶתֵּ֨ן So I gave wā·’et·tên לָכֶ֜ם you lā·ḵem אֶ֣רֶץ׀ a land ’e·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֧ר on which ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ you did not lō- יָגַ֣עְתָּ toil yā·ḡa‘·tā בָּ֗הּ bāh וְעָרִים֙ and cities wə·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer לֹא־ you did not lō- בְנִיתֶ֔ם build , ḇə·nî·ṯem וַתֵּשְׁב֖וּ and now you live wat·tê·šə·ḇū בָּהֶ֑ם in them bā·hem אַתֶּ֖ם - ’at·tem אֹכְלִֽים׃ and eat ’ō·ḵə·lîm כְּרָמִ֤ים from vineyards kə·rā·mîm וְזֵיתִים֙ and olive groves wə·zê·ṯîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ you did not lō- נְטַעְתֶּ֔ם plant . ’ nə·ṭa‘·tem Joshua 24:14 וְעַתָּ֞ה Now, therefore , wə·‘at·tāh יְר֧אוּ fear yə·r·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh וְעִבְד֥וּ and serve wə·‘iḇ·ḏū אֹת֖וֹ Him ’ō·ṯōw בְּתָמִ֣ים in sincerity bə·ṯā·mîm וּבֶֽאֱמֶ֑ת and truth ; ū·ḇe·’ĕ·meṯ וְהָסִ֣ירוּ cast aside wə·hā·sî·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהִ֗ים the gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֲשֶׁר֩ - ’ă·šer אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם your fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem עָבְד֨וּ served ‘ā·ḇə·ḏū בְּעֵ֤בֶר beyond bə·‘ê·ḇer הַנָּהָר֙ the Euphrates han·nā·hār וּבְמִצְרַ֔יִם and in Egypt , ū·ḇə·miṣ·ra·yim וְעִבְד֖וּ and serve wə·‘iḇ·ḏū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Joshua 24:15 וְאִם֩ But if wə·’im רַ֨ע it is unpleasing ra‘ בְּֽעֵינֵיכֶ֜ם in your sight bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem לַעֲבֹ֣ד to serve la·‘ă·ḇōḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH , Yah·weh בַּחֲר֨וּ then choose ba·ḥă·rū לָכֶ֣ם for yourselves lā·ḵem הַיּוֹם֮ this day hay·yō·wm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִ֣י whom mî תַעֲבֹדוּן֒ you will serve , ṯa·‘ă·ḇō·ḏūn אִ֣ם whether the ’im אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהִ֞ים gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם your fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer עָבְד֣וּ served ‘ā·ḇə·ḏū בְּעֵבֶר beyond bə·ʿē·ḇɛr הַנָּהָ֔ר the Euphrates , han·nā·hār וְאִם֙ or wə·’im
