Genesis 24:42 וָאָבֹ֥א So when I came wā·’ā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֑יִן the spring hā·‘ā·yin הַיּ֖וֹם today , hay·yō·wm וָאֹמַ֗ר I prayed : wā·’ō·mar יְהוָה֙ O YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵי֙ God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲדֹנִ֣י of my master ’ă·ḏō·nî אַבְרָהָ֔ם Abraham , ’aḇ·rā·hām אִם־ if only ’im- יֶשְׁךָ־ You would yeš·ḵā- נָּא֙ . . . nā דַּרְכִּ֔י make my journey dar·kî אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אָנֹכִ֖י - ’ā·nō·ḵî הֹלֵ֥ךְ . . . hō·lêḵ עָלֶֽיהָ׃ . . . ‘ā·le·hā מַצְלִ֣יחַ a success ! maṣ·lî·aḥ Genesis 24:43 הִנֵּ֛ה Here hin·nêh אָנֹכִ֥י I am , ’ā·nō·ḵî נִצָּ֖ב standing niṣ·ṣāḇ עַל־ beside ‘al- עֵ֣ין this spring ‘ên הַמָּ֑יִם . . . . ham·mā·yim וְהָיָ֤ה Now [if] wə·hā·yāh הָֽעַלְמָה֙ a maiden hā·‘al·māh הַיֹּצֵ֣את comes out hay·yō·ṣêṯ לִשְׁאֹ֔ב to draw water liš·’ōḇ וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י and I say wə·’ā·mar·tî אֵלֶ֔יהָ to her , ’ê·le·hā נָ֥א ‘ Please nā הַשְׁקִֽינִי־ let me drink haš·qî·nî- מְעַט־ a little mə·‘aṭ- מַ֖יִם water ma·yim מִכַּדֵּֽךְ׃ from your jar , ’ mik·kad·dêḵ Genesis 24:44 וְאָמְרָ֤ה and she replies wə·’ā·mə·rāh אֵלַי֙ . . . , ’ê·lay שְׁתֵ֔ה ‘ Drink , šə·ṯêh וְגַ֥ם . . . wə·ḡam אֶשְׁאָ֑ב and I will draw water ’eš·’āḇ לִגְמַלֶּ֖יךָ for your camels liḡ·mal·le·ḵā גַּם־ as well , ’ gam- אַתָּ֣ה . . . ’at·tāh הִ֣וא may she hî הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה be the woman hā·’iš·šāh אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh הֹכִ֥יחַ has appointed hō·ḵî·aḥ אֲדֹנִֽי׃ for my master’s ’ă·ḏō·nî לְבֶן־ son . lə·ḇen- Genesis 24:45 טֶ֨רֶם And before ṭe·rem אֲנִי֩ I ’ă·nî אֲכַלֶּ֜ה had finished ’ă·ḵal·leh לְדַבֵּ֣ר praying lə·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ in ’el- לִבִּ֗י my heart , lib·bî וְהִנֵּ֨ה there wə·hin·nêh רִבְקָ֤ה was Rebekah riḇ·qāh יֹצֵאת֙ coming out yō·ṣêṯ וְכַדָּ֣הּ with her jar wə·ḵad·dāh עַל־ on ‘al- שִׁכְמָ֔הּ her shoulder , šiḵ·māh וַתֵּ֥רֶד and she went down wat·tê·reḏ הָעַ֖יְנָה to the spring hā·‘ay·nāh וַתִּשְׁאָ֑ב and drew water . wat·tiš·’āḇ וָאֹמַ֥ר So I said wā·’ō·mar אֵלֶ֖יהָ to her , ’ê·le·hā נָֽא׃ ‘ Please nā הַשְׁקִ֥ינִי give me a drink . ’ haš·qî·nî Genesis 24:46 וַתְּמַהֵ֗ר She quickly wat·tə·ma·hêr וַתּ֤וֹרֶד lowered wat·tō·w·reḏ כַּדָּהּ֙ her jar kad·dāh מֵֽעָלֶ֔יהָ from her [shoulder] mê·‘ā·le·hā וַתֹּ֣אמֶר and said , wat·tō·mer שְׁתֵ֔ה ‘ Drink , šə·ṯêh אַשְׁקֶ֑ה and I will water ’aš·qeh גְּמַלֶּ֖יךָ your camels gə·mal·le·ḵā וְגַם־ as well . ’ wə·ḡam- וָאֵ֕שְׁתְּ So I drank , wā·’ê·šət וְגַ֥ם and she also wə·ḡam הִשְׁקָֽתָה׃ watered hiš·qā·ṯāh הַגְּמַלִּ֖ים the camels . hag·gə·mal·lîm
