אֲבָנִ֨ים hailstones ’ă·ḇā·nîm מִן־ from min- הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם the sky , haš·šā·ma·yim וַיָּמֻ֑תוּ - way·yā·mu·ṯū רַבִּ֗ים and more rab·bîm אֲשֶׁר־ of them ’ă·šer- מֵ֙תוּ֙ were killed mê·ṯū בְּאַבְנֵ֣י by bə·’aḇ·nê הַבָּרָ֔ד the hailstones hab·bā·rāḏ מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר than mê·’ă·šer הָרְג֛וּ - hā·rə·ḡū בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ס by the swords be·ḥā·reḇ בְּנֵ֥י vvv bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of the Israelites . yiś·rā·’êl Joshua 10:12 אָ֣ז - ’āz בְּי֗וֹם On the day [that] bə·yō·wm לַֽיהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh הָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔י gave the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî תֵּ֤ת over têṯ לִפְנֵ֖י to lip̄·nê בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ . . . way·yō·mer יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֙ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ יְדַבֵּ֤ר spoke yə·ḏab·bêr יְהוָה֙ to YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְעֵינֵ֣י in the presence lə·‘ê·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel : yiś·rā·’êl שֶׁ֚מֶשׁ “ O sun , meš דּ֔וֹם stand still dō·wm בְּגִבְע֣וֹן over Gibeon , bə·ḡiḇ·‘ō·wn וְיָרֵ֖חַ O moon , wə·yā·rê·aḥ בְּעֵ֥מֶק over the Valley bə·‘ê·meq אַיָּלֽוֹן׃ of Aijalon . ” ’ay·yā·lō·wn Joshua 10:13 הַשֶּׁ֜מֶשׁ So the sun haš·še·meš וַיִּדֹּ֨ם stood still way·yid·dōm וְיָרֵ֣חַ and the moon wə·yā·rê·aḥ עָמָ֗ד stopped ‘ā·māḏ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- גּוֹי֙ the nation gō·w יִקֹּ֥ם took vengeance yiq·qōm אֹֽיְבָ֔יו upon its enemies . ’ō·yə·ḇāw הִ֥יא Is this hî הֲלֹא־ not hă·lō- כְתוּבָ֖ה written ḵə·ṯū·ḇāh עַל־ in ‘al- סֵ֣פֶר the Book sê·p̄er הַיָּשָׁ֑ר of Jashar ? hay·yā·šār הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ “ So the sun haš·še·meš וַיַּעֲמֹ֤ד stopped way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ בַּחֲצִ֣י in the middle ba·ḥă·ṣî הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of the sky haš·šā·ma·yim וְלֹא־ and delayed wə·lō- אָ֥ץ . . . ’āṣ לָב֖וֹא going down lā·ḇō·w תָּמִֽים׃ about a full tā·mîm כְּי֥וֹם day . ” kə·yō·wm Joshua 10:14 הָיָ֜ה There has been hā·yāh וְלֹ֨א no wə·lō כַּיּ֤וֹם day kay·yō·wm הַהוּא֙ . . . ha·hū לְפָנָ֣יו like it before lə·p̄ā·nāw וְאַחֲרָ֔יו or since , wə·’a·ḥă·rāw יְהוָ֖ה when YHWH Yah·weh לִשְׁמֹ֥עַ listened liš·mō·a‘ בְּק֣וֹל to the voice bə·qō·wl אִ֑ישׁ of a man , ’îš כִּ֣י because kî יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh נִלְחָ֖ם fought nil·ḥām לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ for Israel . lə·yiś·rā·’êl Joshua 10:15 יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ Then Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיָּ֤שָׁב returned way·yā·šāḇ וְכָל־ with all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עִמּ֔וֹ - ‘im·mōw אֶל־ to ’el- הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה the camp ham·ma·ḥă·neh הַגִּלְגָּֽלָה׃ at Gilgal . hag·gil·gā·lāh Joshua 10:16 הָאֵ֑לֶּה Now the hā·’êl·leh חֲמֵ֖שֶׁת five ḥă·mê·šeṯ הַמְּלָכִ֣ים kings ham·mə·lā·ḵîm וַיָּנֻ֕סוּ had fled way·yā·nu·sū וַיֵּחָבְא֥וּ and hidden way·yê·ḥā·ḇə·’ū
