Joshua 7:15 וְהָיָה֙ - wə·hā·yāh הַנִּלְכָּ֣ד The one who is caught han·nil·kāḏ בַּחֵ֔רֶם with the things devoted to destruction ba·ḥê·rem יִשָּׂרֵ֣ף must be burned yiś·śā·rêp̄ בָּאֵ֔שׁ . . . , bā·’êš אֹת֖וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw וְאֶת־ along with all wə·’eṯ- כָּל־ that belongs to him , kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- ל֑וֹ - lōw כִּ֤י because kî עָבַר֙ he has transgressed ‘ā·ḇar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּרִ֣ית the covenant bə·rîṯ יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh וְכִֽי־ [and] wə·ḵî- עָשָׂ֥ה committed ‘ā·śāh נְבָלָ֖ה an outrage nə·ḇā·lāh בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ in Israel . ’” bə·yiś·rā·’êl Joshua 7:16 יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ So Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֤ם arose early way·yaš·kêm בַּבֹּ֔קֶר the next morning bab·bō·qer יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל and had Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּקְרֵ֥ב come forward way·yaq·rêḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לִשְׁבָטָ֑יו tribe by tribe , liš·ḇā·ṭāw שֵׁ֥בֶט and the tribe šê·ḇeṭ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּלָּכֵ֖ד was selected . way·yil·lā·ḵêḏ Joshua 7:17 מִשְׁפַּ֣חַת He had the clans miš·pa·ḥaṯ יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיַּקְרֵב֙ come forward , way·yaq·rêḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִשְׁפַּ֣חַת and the clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ הַזַּרְחִ֑י of the Zerahites haz·zar·ḥî וַיִּלְכֹּ֕ד was selected . way·yil·kōḏ אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת He had the clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ הַזַּרְחִי֙ of the Zerahites haz·zar·ḥî וַיַּקְרֵ֞ב come forward , way·yaq·rêḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לַגְּבָרִ֔ים and the family lag·gə·ḇā·rîm זַבְדִּֽי׃ of Zabdi zaḇ·dî וַיִּלָּכֵ֖ד was selected . way·yil·lā·ḵêḏ Joshua 7:18 בֵּית֖וֹ And he had the family [of Zabdi] bê·ṯōw וַיַּקְרֵ֥ב come forward way·yaq·rêḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לַגְּבָרִ֑ים man by man , lag·gə·ḇā·rîm עָכָ֞ן and Achan ‘ā·ḵān בֶּן־ son ben- כַּרְמִ֧י of Carmi , kar·mî בֶן־ the son ḇen- זַבְדִּ֛י of Zabdi , zaḇ·dî בֶּן־ the son ben- זֶ֖רַח of Zerah , ze·raḥ לְמַטֵּ֥ה of the tribe lə·maṭ·ṭêh יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּלָּכֵ֗ד was selected . way·yil·lā·ḵêḏ Joshua 7:19 יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ So Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- עָכָ֗ן Achan , ‘ā·ḵān בְּנִי֙ “ My son , bə·nî שִֽׂים־ give śîm- כָב֗וֹד glory ḵā·ḇō·wḏ לַֽיהוָ֛ה to YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְתֶן־ and make wə·ṯen- תוֹדָ֑ה a confession ṯō·w·ḏāh ל֣וֹ to Him . lōw נָ֣א I urge you nā וְהַגֶּד־ to tell wə·hag·geḏ- נָ֥א . . . nā לִי֙ me lî מֶ֣ה what meh עָשִׂ֔יתָ you have done ; ‘ā·śî·ṯā אַל־ do not ’al- תְּכַחֵ֖ד hide [it] tə·ḵa·ḥêḏ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ from me . ” mim·men·nî Joshua 7:20 אָמְנָ֗ה “ It is true , ” ’ā·mə·nāh עָכָ֛ן Achan ‘ā·ḵān אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּ֧עַן replied way·ya·‘an
