Joshua 7:6 יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ Then Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיִּקְרַ֨ע tore way·yiq·ra‘ שִׂמְלֹתָ֗יו his clothes śim·lō·ṯāw וַיִּפֹּל֩ and fell way·yip·pōl עַל־ ‘al- לִפְנֵ֨י facedown lip̄·nê אַ֜רְצָה . . . ’ar·ṣāh פָּנָ֨יו before pā·nāw אֲר֤וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעֶ֔רֶב evening , hā·‘e·reḇ ה֖וּא . . . hū וְזִקְנֵ֣י as did the elders wə·ziq·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel ; yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּעֲל֥וּ and they all sprinkled way·ya·‘ă·lū עָפָ֖ר dust ‘ā·p̄ār עַל־ on ‘al- רֹאשָֽׁם׃ their heads . rō·šām Joshua 7:7 אֲהָ֣הּ׀ “ O , ’ă·hāh אֲדֹנָ֣י Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֗ה YHWH , ” Yah·weh יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said , way·yō·mer לָ֠מָה “ why lā·māh הֵעֲבַ֨רְתָּ did You ever bring hê·‘ă·ḇar·tā הַעֲבִ֜יר . . . ha·‘ă·ḇîr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֤ם people hā·‘ām הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן across the Jordan hay·yar·dên לָתֵ֥ת to deliver lā·ṯêṯ אֹתָ֛נוּ us ’ō·ṯā·nū בְּיַ֥ד into the hand bə·yaḏ הָאֱמֹרִ֖י of the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî לְהַאֲבִידֵ֑נוּ to be destroyed ? lə·ha·’ă·ḇî·ḏê·nū וְלוּ֙ If only wə·lū הוֹאַ֣לְנוּ we had been content hō·w·’al·nū וַנֵּ֔שֶׁב to stay wan·nê·šeḇ בְּעֵ֖בֶר on the other side bə·‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ of the Jordan ! hay·yar·dên Joshua 7:8 בִּ֖י O bî אֲדֹנָ֑י Lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy מָ֣ה what māh אֹמַ֔ר can I say , ’ō·mar אַ֠חֲרֵי now that ’a·ḥă·rê אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl הָפַ֧ךְ has turned hā·p̄aḵ עֹ֖רֶף its back ‘ō·rep̄ לִפְנֵ֥י and run from lip̄·nê אֹיְבָֽיו׃ its enemies ? ’ō·yə·ḇāw Joshua 7:9 הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֗י When the Canaanites hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî וְכֹל֙ and all wə·ḵōl יֹשְׁבֵ֣י who live yō·šə·ḇê הָאָ֔רֶץ in the land hā·’ā·reṣ וְיִשְׁמְע֣וּ hear about this , wə·yiš·mə·‘ū וְנָסַ֣בּוּ they will surround wə·nā·sab·bū עָלֵ֔ינוּ us ‘ā·lê·nū וְהִכְרִ֥יתוּ and wipe out wə·hiḵ·rî·ṯū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁמֵ֖נוּ our name šə·mê·nū מִן־ from min- הָאָ֑רֶץ the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ וּמַֽה־ Then what ū·mah- תַּעֲשֵׂ֖ה will You do ta·‘ă·śêh הַגָּדֽוֹל׃ס for Your great hag·gā·ḏō·wl לְשִׁמְךָ֥ name ? ” lə·šim·ḵā Joshua 7:10 יְהוָ֛ה But YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֧אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ Joshua , yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ קֻ֣ם “ Stand up qum לָ֑ךְ ! lāḵ לָ֣מָּה Why lām·māh זֶּ֔ה . . . zeh אַתָּ֖ה have you ’at·tāh נֹפֵ֥ל fallen nō·p̄êl עַל־ on ‘al- פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ your face ? pā·ne·ḵā Joshua 7:11 יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl
