וַֽיִּתְקְע֖וּ sounded , way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām וַיָּ֣רַע shouted . way·yā·ra‘ הָעָ֜ם When they hā·‘ām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ heard ḵiš·mō·a‘ ק֣וֹל the blast qō·wl הַשּׁוֹפָ֗ר of the horn , haš·šō·w·p̄ār הָעָם֙ the people hā·‘ām גְדוֹלָ֔ה gave a great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh וַיָּרִ֤יעוּ shout way·yā·rî·‘ū תְּרוּעָ֣ה . . . , tə·rū·‘āh הַֽחוֹמָ֜ה and the wall ha·ḥō·w·māh וַתִּפֹּ֨ל collapsed wat·tip·pōl תַּחְתֶּ֗יהָ . . . . taḥ·te·hā הָעָ֤ם Then all the people hā·‘ām אִ֣ישׁ . . . ’îš וַיַּ֨עַל charged way·ya·‘al נֶגְדּ֔וֹ straight neḡ·dōw הָעִ֙ירָה֙ into the city hā·‘î·rāh וַֽיִּלְכְּד֖וּ and captured way·yil·kə·ḏū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעִֽיר׃ [it] . hā·‘îr Joshua 6:21 לְפִי־ At the edge lə·p̄î- חָֽרֶב׃ of the sword ḥā·reḇ וַֽיַּחֲרִ֙ימוּ֙ they devoted to destruction way·ya·ḥă·rî·mū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ everything kāl- אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּעִ֔יר in the city — bā·‘îr מֵאִישׁ֙ man mê·’îš אִשָּׁ֔ה and woman , ’iš·šāh מִנַּ֖עַר young min·na·‘ar וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- וְעַד־ . . . wə·‘aḏ- זָקֵ֑ן old , zā·qên וְעַ֨ד . . . wə·‘aḏ שׁ֥וֹר oxen , šō·wr וָשֶׂ֛ה sheep , wā·śeh וַחֲמ֖וֹר and donkeys . wa·ḥă·mō·wr Joshua 6:22 יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ Meanwhile, Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ אָמַ֣ר told ’ā·mar וְלִשְׁנַ֨יִם the two wə·liš·na·yim הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים men hā·’ă·nā·šîm הַֽמְרַגְּלִ֤ים who had spied out ham·rag·gə·lîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ בֹּ֖אוּ “ Go into bō·’ū בֵּית־ the house bêṯ- הַזּוֹנָ֑ה of the prostitute haz·zō·w·nāh וְהוֹצִ֨יאוּ and bring out wə·hō·w·ṣî·’ū הָאִשָּׁ֣ה the woman hā·’iš·šāh מִשָּׁ֤ם - miš·šām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ - hā·’iš·šāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- כָּל־ and all kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ who are ’ă·šer- לָ֔הּ with her , lāh כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר just as ka·’ă·šer נִשְׁבַּעְתֶּ֖ם you promised niš·ba‘·tem לָֽהּ׃ her . ” lāh Joshua 6:23 הַנְּעָרִ֣ים So the young han·nə·‘ā·rîm הַֽמְרַגְּלִ֗ים spies ham·rag·gə·lîm וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ went in way·yā·ḇō·’ū וַיֹּצִ֡יאוּ and brought out way·yō·ṣî·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רָ֠חָב Rahab , rā·ḥāḇ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- אָבִ֨יהָ her father ’ā·ḇî·hā וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אִמָּ֤הּ mother ’im·māh וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אַחֶ֙יהָ֙ brothers , ’a·ḥe·hā וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- כָּל־ and all kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ who belonged ’ă·šer- לָ֔הּ to her . lāh וְאֵ֥ת - wə·’êṯ הוֹצִ֑יאוּ They brought out hō·w·ṣî·’ū כָּל־ her whole kāl- מִשְׁפְּחוֹתֶ֖יהָ family miš·pə·ḥō·w·ṯe·hā וַיַּ֨נִּיח֔וּם and settled them way·yan·nî·ḥūm מִח֖וּץ outside mi·ḥūṣ לְמַחֲנֵ֥ה the camp lə·ma·ḥă·nêh יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Joshua 6:24 שָׂרְפ֥וּ Then [the Israelites] burned up śā·rə·p̄ū בָאֵ֖שׁ . . . ḇā·’êš
