Genesis 24:16 וְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗ Now the girl wə·han·na·‘ă·rā מְאֹ֔ד was very mə·’ōḏ טֹבַ֤ת beautiful ṭō·ḇaṯ מַרְאֶה֙ . . . , mar·’eh בְּתוּלָ֕ה a virgin bə·ṯū·lāh לֹ֣א . . . lō יְדָעָ֑הּ who had not had relations yə·ḏā·‘āh וְאִ֖ישׁ with any man . wə·’îš וַתֵּ֣רֶד She went down wat·tê·reḏ הָעַ֔יְנָה to the spring , hā·‘ay·nāh וַתְּמַלֵּ֥א filled wat·tə·mal·lê כַדָּ֖הּ her jar , ḵad·dāh וַתָּֽעַל׃ and came up again . wat·tā·‘al Genesis 24:17 הָעֶ֖בֶד So the servant hā·‘e·ḇeḏ וַיָּ֥רָץ ran way·yā·rāṣ לִקְרָאתָ֑הּ to meet her liq·rā·ṯāh וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer נָ֛א “ Please nā הַגְמִיאִ֥ינִי let me have haḡ·mî·’î·nî מְעַט־ a little mə·‘aṭ- מַ֖יִם water ma·yim מִכַּדֵּֽךְ׃ from your jar . ” mik·kad·dêḵ Genesis 24:18 שְׁתֵ֣ה “ Drink , šə·ṯêh אֲדֹנִ֑י my lord , ” ’ă·ḏō·nî וַתֹּ֖אמֶר she replied , wat·tō·mer וַתְּמַהֵ֗ר and she quickly wat·tə·ma·hêr וַתֹּ֧רֶד lowered wat·tō·reḏ כַּדָּ֛הּ her jar kad·dāh עַל־ to ‘al- יָדָ֖הּ her hands yā·ḏāh וַתַּשְׁקֵֽהוּ׃ and gave him a drink . wat·taš·qê·hū Genesis 24:19 וַתְּכַ֖ל After she wat·tə·ḵal לְהַשְׁקֹת֑וֹ had given him a drink , lə·haš·qō·ṯōw וַתֹּ֗אמֶר she said , wat·tō·mer גַּ֤ם “ I will also gam אֶשְׁאָ֔ב draw water ’eš·’āḇ לִגְמַלֶּ֙יךָ֙ for your camels , liḡ·mal·le·ḵā עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ אִם־ . . . ’im- כִּלּ֖וּ they have had enough kil·lū לִשְׁתֹּֽת׃ to drink . ” liš·tōṯ Genesis 24:20 וַתְּמַהֵ֗ר And she quickly wat·tə·ma·hêr וַתְּעַ֤ר emptied wat·tə·‘ar כַּדָּהּ֙ her jar kad·dāh אֶל־ into ’el- הַשֹּׁ֔קֶת the trough haš·šō·qeṯ וַתָּ֥רָץ and ran wat·tā·rāṣ ע֛וֹד back ‘ō·wḏ אֶֽל־ to ’el- הַבְּאֵ֖ר the well hab·bə·’êr לִשְׁאֹ֑ב to draw water , liš·’ōḇ וַתִּשְׁאַ֖ב until she had drawn water wat·tiš·’aḇ לְכָל־ for all lə·ḵāl גְּמַלָּֽיו׃ his camels . gə·mal·lāw Genesis 24:21 וְהָאִ֥ישׁ Meanwhile, the man wə·hā·’îš מִשְׁתָּאֵ֖ה watched miš·tā·’êh לָ֑הּ her lāh מַחֲרִ֕ישׁ silently ma·ḥă·rîš לָדַ֗עַת to see lā·ḏa·‘aṯ אִם־ whether ’im- לֹֽא׃ or not lō יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh דַּרְכּ֖וֹ had made his journey dar·kōw הַֽהִצְלִ֧יחַ a success . ha·hiṣ·lî·aḥ Genesis 24:22 וַיְהִ֗י And way·hî כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר after ka·’ă·šer הַגְּמַלִּים֙ the camels hag·gə·mal·lîm כִּלּ֤וּ had finished kil·lū לִשְׁתּ֔וֹת drinking , liš·tō·wṯ הָאִישׁ֙ [he] hā·’îš וַיִּקַּ֤ח took out way·yiq·qaḥ זָהָ֔ב a gold zā·hāḇ נֶ֣זֶם ring ne·zem מִשְׁקָל֑וֹ weighing miš·qā·lōw בֶּ֖קַע a beka , be·qa‘ וּשְׁנֵ֤י and two ū·šə·nê זָהָ֖ב gold zā·hāḇ צְמִידִים֙ bracelets ṣə·mî·ḏîm עַל־ for ‘al- יָדֶ֔יהָ her wrists yā·ḏe·hā
