יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ Joshua ; yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ וַיַּעֲבִר֤וּם and they carried way·ya·‘ă·ḇi·rūm עִמָּם֙ them ‘im·mām אֶל־ to ’el- הַמָּל֔וֹן the camp , ham·mā·lō·wn וַיַּנִּח֖וּם where they set them down way·yan·ni·ḥūm שָֽׁם׃ . . . . šām Joshua 4:9 יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ Joshua also yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ הֵקִ֣ים set up hê·qîm וּשְׁתֵּ֧ים twelve ū·šə·têm עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה . . . ‘eś·rêh אֲבָנִ֗ים stones ’ă·ḇā·nîm בְּת֣וֹךְ in the middle bə·ṯō·wḵ הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ of the Jordan , hay·yar·dên תַּ֗חַת in the place ta·ḥaṯ הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים where the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm נֹשְׂאֵ֖י who carried nō·śə·’ê אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn הַבְּרִ֑ית of the covenant hab·bə·rîṯ מַצַּב֙ stood maṣ·ṣaḇ רַגְלֵ֣י . . . . raḡ·lê וַיִּ֣הְיוּ And [the stones] are way·yih·yū שָׁ֔ם there šām עַ֖ד to ‘aḏ הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day . hay·yō·wm Joshua 4:10 וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֞ים Now the priests wə·hak·kō·hă·nîm נֹשְׂאֵ֣י who carried nō·śə·’ê הָאָר֗וֹן the ark hā·’ā·rō·wn עֹמְדִים֮ remained standing ‘ō·mə·ḏîm בְּת֣וֹךְ in the middle bə·ṯō·wḵ הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ of the Jordan hay·yar·dên עַ֣ד until ‘aḏ הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām תֹּ֣ם had completed tōm כָּֽל־ everything kāl- הַ֠דָּבָר . . . had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- צִוָּ֨ה had commanded ṣiw·wāh יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ לְדַבֵּ֣ר to tell lə·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ them , ’el- כְּכֹ֛ל just as kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- צִוָּ֥ה had directed ṣiw·wāh יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ Joshua . yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ הָעָ֖ם The people hā·‘ām וַיְמַהֲר֥וּ hurried way·ma·hă·rū וַֽיַּעֲבֹֽרוּ׃ across , way·ya·‘ă·ḇō·rū Joshua 4:11 וַיְהִ֛י - way·hî כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־ and after ka·’ă·šer- כָּל־ everyone kāl- הָעָ֖ם . . . hā·‘ām תַּ֥ם had finished tam לַֽעֲב֑וֹר crossing , la·‘ă·ḇō·wr וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים the priests wə·hak·kō·hă·nîm אֲרוֹן־ with the ark ’ă·rō·wn- יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּעֲבֹ֧ר crossed way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr לִפְנֵ֥י in the sight of lip̄·nê הָעָֽם׃ the people . hā·‘ām Joshua 4:12 בְּנֵי־ The Reubenites bə·nê- רְאוּבֵ֨ן . . . , rə·’ū·ḇên וּבְנֵי־ the Gadites ū·ḇə·nê- גָ֜ד . . . , ḡāḏ וַחֲצִ֨י and the half-tribe wa·ḥă·ṣî שֵׁ֤בֶט . . . šê·ḇeṭ הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה֙ of Manasseh ham·naš·šeh וַ֠יַּעַבְרוּ crossed over way·ya·‘aḇ·rū לִפְנֵ֖י before lip̄·nê בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl חֲמֻשִׁ֔ים armed for battle ḥă·mu·šîm כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר as ka·’ă·šer מֹשֶֽׁה׃ Moses mō·šeh דִּבֶּ֥ר had instructed them dib·ber אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם . . . . ’ă·lê·hem Joshua 4:13 כְּאַרְבָּעִ֥ים About 40,000 kə·’ar·bā·‘îm אֶ֖לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ חֲלוּצֵ֣י troops armed ḥă·lū·ṣê הַצָּבָ֑א . . . haṣ·ṣā·ḇā
