תִמְצָא־ . . . ṯim·ṣā- חֵ֣ן . . . ḥên בְּעֵינָ֗יו . . . bə·‘ê·nāw כִּי־ to him because kî- מָ֤צָא he finds mā·ṣā דָּבָ֔ר some dā·ḇār עֶרְוַ֣ת indecency ‘er·waṯ בָהּ֙ in her , ḇāh וְכָ֨תַב he may write wə·ḵā·ṯaḇ לָ֜הּ her lāh סֵ֤פֶר a certificate sê·p̄er כְּרִיתֻת֙ of divorce , kə·rî·ṯuṯ וְנָתַ֣ן hand it to wə·nā·ṯan בְּיָדָ֔הּ her , bə·yā·ḏāh וְשִׁלְּחָ֖הּ and send her away wə·šil·lə·ḥāh מִבֵּיתֽוֹ׃ from his house . mib·bê·ṯōw Deuteronomy 24:2 וְיָצְאָ֖ה If, after leaving wə·yā·ṣə·’āh מִבֵּית֑וֹ his house , mib·bê·ṯōw וְהָלְכָ֖ה she goes wə·hā·lə·ḵāh וְהָיְתָ֥ה and becomes wə·hā·yə·ṯāh אַחֵֽר׃ another ’a·ḥêr לְאִישׁ־ man’s wife , lə·’îš- Deuteronomy 24:3 הָאַחֲרוֹן֒ and the second hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn הָאִ֣ישׁ man hā·’îš וּשְׂנֵאָהּ֮ hates her , ū·śə·nê·’āh וְכָ֨תַב writes wə·ḵā·ṯaḇ לָ֜הּ her lāh סֵ֤פֶר a certificate sê·p̄er כְּרִיתֻת֙ of divorce , kə·rî·ṯuṯ וְנָתַ֣ן hands it to wə·nā·ṯan בְּיָדָ֔הּ her , bə·yā·ḏāh וְשִׁלְּחָ֖הּ and sends her away wə·šil·lə·ḥāh מִבֵּית֑וֹ from his house , mib·bê·ṯōw א֣וֹ or ’ōw כִ֤י if ḵî יָמוּת֙ he dies yā·mūṯ הָאִ֣ישׁ . . . hā·’îš הָאַחֲר֔וֹן . . . hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- לְקָחָ֥הּ - lə·qā·ḥāh ל֖וֹ lōw לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ - , lə·’iš·šāh Deuteronomy 24:4 בַּעְלָ֣הּ then the husband ba‘·lāh אֲשֶֽׁר־ who ’ă·še·rō·ši- שִׁ֠לְּחָהּ divorced her lə·ḥāh הָרִאשׁ֣וֹן first hā·ri·šō·wn יוּכַ֣ל may yū·ḵal לֹא־ not lō- לָשׁ֨וּב vvv lā·šūḇ לְקַחְתָּ֜הּ remarry lə·qaḥ·tāh לִהְי֧וֹת . . . lih·yō·wṯ ל֣וֹ . . . lōw לְאִשָּׁ֗ה her lə·’iš·šāh אַחֲרֵי֙ after ’a·ḥă·rê אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הֻטַּמָּ֔אָה she has been defiled , huṭ·ṭam·mā·’āh כִּֽי־ for kî- הִ֖וא that [is] hî תוֹעֵבָ֥ה an abomination ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh לִפְנֵ֣י to lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh וְלֹ֤א You must not wə·lō תַחֲטִיא֙ bring sin ṯa·ḥă·ṭî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֔רֶץ upon the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר֙ that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā נֹתֵ֥ן is giving nō·ṯên לְךָ֖ you lə·ḵā נַחֲלָֽה׃ס [as] an inheritance . na·ḥă·lāh Deuteronomy 24:5 כִּֽי־ If kî- אִישׁ֙ a man ’îš חֲדָשָׁ֔ה is newly ḥă·ḏā·šāh יִקַּ֥ח married yiq·qaḥ אִשָּׁ֣ה . . . , ’iš·šāh לֹ֤א he must not lō יֵצֵא֙ be sent yê·ṣê בַּצָּבָ֔א to war baṣ·ṣā·ḇā וְלֹא־ or wə·lō- יַעֲבֹ֥ר be pressed into ya·‘ă·ḇōr עָלָ֖יו ‘ā·lāw לְכָל־ any lə·ḵāl דָּבָ֑ר duty . dā·ḇār אֶחָ֔ת For one ’e·ḥāṯ שָׁנָ֣ה year šā·nāh יִהְיֶ֤ה he is yih·yeh נָקִ֞י free nā·qî
