נִשְׁבְּע֖וּ of them swore an oath . niš·bə·‘ū Genesis 21:32 וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ After they had made way·yiḵ·rə·ṯū בְרִ֖ית the covenant ḇə·rîṯ בִּבְאֵ֣ר vvv biḇ·’êr שָׁ֑בַע at Beersheba , šā·ḇa‘ אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ Abimelech ’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ וּפִיכֹל֙ and Phicol ū·p̄î·ḵōl שַׂר־ the commander śar- צְבָא֔וֹ of his army ṣə·ḇā·’ōw וַיָּ֣קָם got up way·yā·qām וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ and returned way·yā·šu·ḇū אֶל־ to ’el- אֶ֥רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ of the Philistines . pə·liš·tîm Genesis 21:33 וַיִּטַּ֥ע And [Abraham] planted way·yiṭ·ṭa‘ אֶ֖שֶׁל a tamarisk tree ’e·šel בִּבְאֵ֣ר vvv biḇ·’êr שָׁ֑בַע in Beersheba , šā·ḇa‘ שָׁ֔ם and there šām וַיִּ֨קְרָא־ he called way·yiq·rā- בְּשֵׁ֥ם upon the name bə·šêm יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH , Yah·weh עוֹלָֽם׃ the Eternal ‘ō·w·lām אֵ֥ל God . ’êl Genesis 21:34 אַבְרָהָ֛ם And Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיָּ֧גָר resided way·yā·ḡār בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים of the Philistines pə·liš·tîm רַבִּֽים׃פ for a long rab·bîm יָמִ֥ים time . yā·mîm Genesis 22:1 וַיְהִ֗י - way·hî אַחַר֙ Some time later ’a·ḥar הָאֵ֔לֶּה . . . hā·’êl·leh הַדְּבָרִ֣ים . . . had·də·ḇā·rîm וְהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים God wə·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm נִסָּ֖ה tested nis·sāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַבְרָהָ֑ם Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֵלָ֔יו to him , ’ê·lāw אַבְרָהָ֖ם “ Abraham ! ” ’aḇ·rā·hām הִנֵּֽנִי׃ “ Here I am , ” hin·nê·nî וַיֹּ֥אמֶר he answered . way·yō·mer Genesis 22:2 קַח־ “ Take qaḥ- נָ֠א . . . nā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִּנְךָ֙ your son , ” bin·ḵå̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיֹּ֡אמֶר [God] said , way·yō·mer יְחִֽידְךָ֤ “ your only yə·ḥî·ḏə·ḵā יִצְחָ֔ק son Isaac , yiṣ·ḥāq אֲשֶׁר־ whom ’ă·šer- אָהַ֙בְתָּ֙ you love , ’ā·haḇ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְלֶךְ־ and go wə·leḵ- לְךָ֔ lə·ḵā אֶל־ to ’el- אֶ֖רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ הַמֹּרִיָּ֑ה of Moriah . ham·mō·rî·yāh וְהַעֲלֵ֤הוּ Offer him wə·ha·‘ă·lê·hū שָׁם֙ there šām לְעֹלָ֔ה as a burnt offering lə·‘ō·lāh עַ֚ל on ‘al אַחַ֣ד one ’a·ḥaḏ הֶֽהָרִ֔ים of the mountains , he·hā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ’ă·šer אֹמַ֥ר I will show ’ō·mar אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ you . ” ’ê·le·ḵā Genesis 22:3 אַבְרָהָ֜ם So Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם got up early way·yaš·kêm בַּבֹּ֗קֶר the next morning , bab·bō·qer וַֽיַּחֲבֹשׁ֙ saddled way·ya·ḥă·ḇōš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲמֹר֔וֹ his donkey , ḥă·mō·rōw וַיִּקַּ֞ח and took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אִתּ֔וֹ along ’it·tōw וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ שְׁנֵ֤י two šə·nê נְעָרָיו֙ of his servants nə·‘ā·rāw בְּנ֑וֹ and his son bə·nōw יִצְחָ֣ק Isaac . yiṣ·ḥāq
