Genesis 22:9 וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ When they arrived way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶֽל־ at ’el- הַמָּקוֹם֮ the place ham·mā·qō·wm אֲשֶׁ֣ר ’ă·šer הָאֱלֹהִים֒ God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm אָֽמַר־ had designated ’ā·mar- ל֣וֹ . . . , lōw אַבְרָהָם֙ Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּ֨בֶן built way·yi·ḇen הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ the altar ham·miz·bê·aḥ שָׁ֤ם there šām וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ and arranged way·ya·‘ă·rōḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעֵצִ֑ים the wood . hā·‘ê·ṣîm וַֽיַּעֲקֹד֙ He bound way·ya·‘ă·qōḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנ֔וֹ his son bə·nōw יִצְחָ֣ק Isaac yiṣ·ḥāq וַיָּ֤שֶׂם and placed way·yā·śem אֹתוֹ֙ him ’ō·ṯōw עַל־ on ‘al- הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ the altar , ham·miz·bê·aḥ מִמַּ֖עַל atop mim·ma·‘al לָעֵצִֽים׃ the wood . lā·‘ê·ṣîm Genesis 22:10 אַבְרָהָם֙ Then Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח reached out way·yiš·laḥ יָד֔וֹ his hand yā·ḏōw וַיִּקַּ֖ח and took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶת the knife ham·ma·’ă·ḵe·leṯ לִשְׁחֹ֖ט to slaughter liš·ḥōṭ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנֽוֹ׃ his son . bə·nōw Genesis 22:11 מַלְאַ֤ךְ Just then the angel mal·’aḵ יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּקְרָ֨א called out way·yiq·rā אֵלָ֜יו to him ’ê·lāw מִן־ from min- הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וַיֹּ֖אמֶר - , way·yō·mer אַבְרָהָ֣ם׀ “ Abraham , ’aḇ·rā·hām אַבְרָהָ֑ם Abraham ! ” ’aḇ·rā·hām הִנֵּֽנִי׃ “ Here I am , ” hin·nê·nî וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he replied . way·yō·mer Genesis 22:12 אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תִּשְׁלַ֤ח lay tiš·laḥ יָֽדְךָ֙ a hand yā·ḏə·ḵā אֶל־ on ’el- הַנַּ֔עַר the boy han·na·‘ar וְאַל־ . . . wə·’al- תַּ֥עַשׂ or do ta·‘aś מְא֑וּמָּה anything mə·ʾūm·må̄h ל֖וֹ to him , ” lōw וַיֹּ֗אמֶר said [the angel] , way·yō·mer כִּ֣י׀ “ for kî עַתָּ֣ה now ‘at·tāh יָדַ֗עְתִּי I know yā·ḏa‘·tî כִּֽי־ that kî- אַ֔תָּה you ’at·tāh יְרֵ֤א fear yə·rê אֱלֹהִים֙ God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְלֹ֥א since you have not wə·lō חָשַׂ֛כְתָּ withheld ḥā·śaḵ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְחִידְךָ֖ your only yə·ḥî·ḏə·ḵā בִּנְךָ֥ son bin·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ from me . ” mim·men·nî Genesis 22:13 אַבְרָהָ֜ם Then Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשָּׂ֨א looked up way·yiś·śā עֵינָ֗יו . . . ‘ê·nāw וַיַּרְא֙ and saw way·yar וְהִנֵּה־ wə·hin·nêh- אַחַ֕ר behind [him] ’a·ḥar אַ֔יִל a ram ’a·yil בַּסְּבַ֖ךְ in a thicket , bas·sə·ḇaḵ נֶאֱחַ֥ז caught ne·’ĕ·ḥaz בְּקַרְנָ֑יו by its horns . bə·qar·nāw אַבְרָהָם֙ So [he] ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ וַיִּקַּ֣ח and took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאַ֔יִל the ram hā·’a·yil
