וַיַּעֲלֵ֥הוּ and offered way·ya·‘ă·lê·hū לְעֹלָ֖ה it as a burnt offering lə·‘ō·lāh תַּ֥חַת in place of ta·ḥaṯ בְּנֽוֹ׃ his son . bə·nōw Genesis 22:14 אַבְרָהָ֛ם And Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיִּקְרָ֧א called way·yiq·rā שֵֽׁם־ . . . šêm- הַה֖וּא that ha·hū הַמָּק֥וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm יְהוָ֣ה׀ YHWH Yah·weh יִרְאֶ֑ה Will Provide . yir·’eh אֲשֶׁר֙ So ’ă·šer הַיּ֔וֹם to this day hay·yō·wm יֵאָמֵ֣ר it is said , yê·’ā·mêr בְּהַ֥ר “ On the mountain bə·har יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh יֵרָאֶֽה׃ it will be provided . ” yê·rā·’eh Genesis 22:15 מַלְאַ֥ךְ And the angel mal·’aḵ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּקְרָ֛א called way·yiq·rā אֶל־ to ’el- אַבְרָהָ֑ם Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām מִן־ from min- הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ heaven haš·šā·mā·yim שֵׁנִ֖ית a second time , šê·nîṯ Genesis 22:16 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר saying , way·yō·mer בִּ֥י “ By Myself bî נִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּי I have sworn , niš·ba‘·tî נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh כִּ֗י that kî יַ֚עַן because ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer עָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ you have done ‘ā·śî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַדָּבָ֣ר . . . had·dā·ḇār וְלֹ֥א and have not wə·lō חָשַׂ֖כְתָּ withheld ḥā·śaḵ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְחִידֶֽךָ׃ your only yə·ḥî·ḏe·ḵā בִּנְךָ֥ son , bin·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Genesis 22:17 כִּֽי־ I will surely kî- בָרֵ֣ךְ bless you ḇā·rêḵ אֲבָרֶכְךָ֗ . . . , ’ă·ḇā·reḵ·ḵā וְהַרְבָּ֨ה and I will multiply wə·har·bāh אַרְבֶּ֤ה . . . ’ar·beh אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- זַרְעֲךָ֙ your descendants zar·‘ă·ḵā כְּכוֹכְבֵ֣י like the stars kə·ḵō·wḵ·ḇê הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם in the sky haš·šā·ma·yim וְכַח֕וֹל and the sand wə·ḵa·ḥō·wl אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ on ‘al- שְׂפַ֣ת the seashore śə·p̄aṯ הַיָּ֑ם . . . . hay·yām זַרְעֲךָ֔ Your descendants zar·‘ă·ḵā אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ וְיִרַ֣שׁ will possess wə·yi·raš שַׁ֥עַר the gates ša·‘ar אֹיְבָֽיו׃ of their enemies . ’ō·yə·ḇāw Genesis 22:18 בְזַרְעֲךָ֔ And through your offspring ḇə·zar·‘ă·ḵā כֹּ֖ל all kōl גּוֹיֵ֣י nations gō·w·yê הָאָ֑רֶץ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ וְהִתְבָּרֲכ֣וּ will be blessed , wə·hiṯ·bā·ră·ḵū עֵ֕קֶב because ‘ê·qeḇ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ you have obeyed šā·ma‘·tā בְּקֹלִֽי׃ My voice . ” bə·qō·lî Genesis 22:19 אַבְרָהָם֙ Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām וַיָּ֤שָׁב went back way·yā·šāḇ אֶל־ to ’el- נְעָרָ֔יו his servants , nə·‘ā·rāw וַיָּקֻ֛מוּ and they got up way·yā·qu·mū וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ and set out way·yê·lə·ḵū יַחְדָּ֖ו together yaḥ·dāw אֶל־ for ’el- בְּאֵ֣ר vvv bə·’êr שָׁ֑בַע Beersheba . šā·ḇa‘ אַבְרָהָ֖ם And Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām
