הָ֨עֲרָבָ֜ה the Arabah hā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh מִזְרָ֔חָה on the east miz·rā·ḥāh עֵ֤בֶר side ‘ê·ḇer הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ of the Jordan hay·yar·dên וְעַ֖ד and as far as wə·‘aḏ יָ֣ם the Sea yām הָעֲרָבָ֑ה of the Arabah , hā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh תַּ֖חַת below ta·ḥaṯ אַשְׁדֹּ֥ת the slopes ’aš·dōṯ הַפִּסְגָּֽה׃פ of Pisgah . hap·pis·gāh Deuteronomy 5:1 מֹשֶׁה֮ Then Moses mō·šeh וַיִּקְרָ֣א summoned way·yiq·rā כָּל־ all kāl- יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶ֗ם . . . ’ă·lê·hem אֶל־ to them : ’el- שְׁמַ֤ע Hear , šə·ma‘ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ O Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֻקִּ֣ים the statutes ha·ḥuq·qîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים and ordinances ham·miš·pā·ṭîm אֲשֶׁ֧ר that ’ă·šer אָנֹכִ֛י I ’ā·nō·ḵî דֹּבֵ֥ר declare dō·ḇêr בְּאָזְנֵיכֶ֖ם in your hearing bə·’ā·zə·nê·ḵem הַיּ֑וֹם this day . hay·yō·wm וּלְמַדְתֶּ֣ם Learn ū·lə·maḏ·tem אֹתָ֔ם them ’ō·ṯām לַעֲשֹׂתָֽם׃ and observe them la·‘ă·śō·ṯām וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם carefully . ū·šə·mar·tem Deuteronomy 5:2 יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū כָּרַ֥ת made kā·raṯ בְּרִ֖ית a covenant bə·rîṯ עִמָּ֛נוּ with us ‘im·mā·nū בְּחֹרֵֽב׃ at Horeb . bə·ḥō·rêḇ Deuteronomy 5:3 יְהוָ֖ה He Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לֹ֣א did not lō כָּרַ֥ת make kā·raṯ הַזֹּ֑את this haz·zōṯ הַבְּרִ֣ית covenant hab·bə·rîṯ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ our fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū כִּ֣י but kî אִתָּ֗נוּ with ’it·tā·nū אֲנַ֨חְנוּ . . . ’ă·naḥ·nū אֵ֥לֶּה . . . ’êl·leh כֻּלָּ֥נוּ all kul·lā·nū חַיִּֽים׃ of us who are alive ḥay·yîm פֹ֛ה here today p̄ōh הַיּ֖וֹם . . . . hay·yō·wm Deuteronomy 5:4 יְהוָ֧ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֨ר spoke dib·ber עִמָּכֶ֛ם with you ‘im·mā·ḵem פָּנִ֣ים׀ face pā·nîm בְּפָנִ֗ים to face bə·p̄ā·nîm מִתּ֥וֹךְ out of mit·tō·wḵ הָאֵֽשׁ׃ the fire hā·’êš בָּהָ֖ר on the mountain . bā·hār Deuteronomy 5:5 הַהִ֔וא At that ha·hi·w בָּעֵ֣ת time bā·‘êṯ אָ֠נֹכִי I ’ā·nō·ḵî עֹמֵ֨ד was standing ‘ō·mêḏ בֵּין־ between bên- יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh וּבֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ and you ū·ḇê·nê·ḵem לְהַגִּ֥יד to declare lə·hag·gîḏ לָכֶ֖ם to you lā·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דְּבַ֣ר the word də·ḇar יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh כִּ֤י because kî יְרֵאתֶם֙ you were afraid yə·rê·ṯem מִפְּנֵ֣י of mip·pə·nê הָאֵ֔שׁ the fire hā·’êš וְלֹֽא־ and would not wə·lō- עֲלִיתֶ֥ם go up ‘ă·lî·ṯem בָּהָ֖ר the mountain . bā·hār לֵאמֹֽר׃ס And He said : lê·mōr
