פְּרָֽת׃ Euphrates . pə·rāṯ Deuteronomy 1:8 רְאֵ֛ה See , rə·’êh נָתַ֥תִּי I have placed nā·ṯat·tî הָאָ֑רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם before you . lip̄·nê·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֹּ֚אוּ Enter bō·’ū וּרְשׁ֣וּ and possess ū·rə·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֔רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יְ֠הוָה YHWH Yah·weh נִשְׁבַּ֣ע swore niš·ba‘ לָתֵ֣ת He would give lā·ṯêṯ לָהֶ֔ם lā·hem לַאֲבֹ֨תֵיכֶ֜ם to your fathers la·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem לְאַבְרָהָ֨ם Abraham , lə·’aḇ·rā·hām לְיִצְחָ֤ק Isaac , lə·yiṣ·ḥāq וּֽלְיַעֲקֹב֙ and Jacob , ū·lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ וּלְזַרְעָ֖ם and to their descendants ū·lə·zar·‘ām אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ after them . ” ’a·ḥă·rê·hem Deuteronomy 1:9 הַהִ֖וא At that ha·hi·w לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . lê·mōr בָּעֵ֥ת time bā·‘êṯ וָאֹמַ֣ר I said wā·’ō·mar אֲלֵכֶ֔ם to you , ’ă·lê·ḵem לֹא־ “ I cannot lō- אוּכַ֥ל . . . ’ū·ḵal שְׂאֵ֥ת carry the burden śə·’êṯ אֶתְכֶֽם׃ for you ’eṯ·ḵem לְבַדִּ֖י alone . lə·ḇad·dî Deuteronomy 1:10 יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם your God ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem הִרְבָּ֣ה has multiplied hir·bāh אֶתְכֶ֑ם you , ’eṯ·ḵem הַיּ֔וֹם so that today hay·yō·wm וְהִנְּכֶ֣ם you are wə·hin·nə·ḵem לָרֹֽב׃ as numerous lā·rōḇ כְּכוֹכְבֵ֥י as the stars kə·ḵō·wḵ·ḇê הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם in the sky . haš·šā·ma·yim Deuteronomy 1:11 יְהוָ֞ה May YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבֽוֹתֵכֶ֗ם of your fathers , ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem יֹסֵ֧ף increase you yō·sêp̄ עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם . . . ‘ă·lê·ḵem כָּכֶ֖ם kā·ḵem אֶ֣לֶף a thousand ’e·lep̄ פְּעָמִ֑ים times over pə·‘ā·mîm וִיבָרֵ֣ךְ and bless wî·ḇā·rêḵ אֶתְכֶ֔ם you ’eṯ·ḵem כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר as ka·’ă·šer דִּבֶּ֥ר He has promised dib·ber לָכֶֽם׃ . lā·ḵem Deuteronomy 1:12 אֵיכָ֥ה But how ’ê·ḵāh אֶשָּׂ֖א can I bear ’eś·śā טָרְחֲכֶ֥ם your troubles , ṭā·rə·ḥă·ḵem וּמַֽשַּׂאֲכֶ֖ם burdens , ū·maś·śa·’ă·ḵem וְרִֽיבְכֶֽם׃ and disputes wə·rî·ḇə·ḵem לְבַדִּ֑י all by myself ? lə·ḇad·dî Deuteronomy 1:13 הָב֣וּ Choose hā·ḇū לָ֠כֶם for yourselves lā·ḵem חֲכָמִ֧ים wise , ḥă·ḵā·mîm וּנְבֹנִ֛ים understanding , ū·nə·ḇō·nîm וִידֻעִ֖ים and respected wî·ḏu·‘îm אֲנָשִׁ֨ים men ’ă·nā·šîm לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֑ם from each of your tribes , lə·šiḇ·ṭê·ḵem וַאֲשִׂימֵ֖ם and I will appoint them wa·’ă·śî·mêm בְּרָאשֵׁיכֶֽם׃ as your leaders . ” bə·rā·šê·ḵem Deuteronomy 1:14 וַֽתַּעֲנ֖וּ And you answered wat·ta·‘ă·nū אֹתִ֑י me ’ō·ṯî וַתֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , wat·tō·mə·rū אֲשֶׁר־ “ What ’ă·šer- דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ you propose dib·bar·tā לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ to do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ טֽוֹב־ is good ṭō·wḇ- הַדָּבָ֥ר . . . . ” had·dā·ḇār
