קֵ֣דְמָה on the east qê·ḏə·māh פְּאַת־ - , pə·’aṯ- אַלְפַּ֨יִם two thousand ’al·pa·yim בָּאַמָּ֜ה - bā·’am·māh וְאֶת־ wə·’eṯ- נֶגֶב֩ on the south ne·ḡeḇ פְּאַת־ - , pə·’aṯ- אַלְפַּ֣יִם two thousand ’al·pa·yim בָּֽאַמָּ֗ה - bā·’am·māh וְאֵ֨ת wə·’êṯ יָ֣ם׀ on the west yām פְּאַת־ - , pə·’aṯ- אַלְפַּ֥יִם [and] two thousand ’al·pa·yim בָּאַמָּ֖ה - bā·’am·māh צָפ֛וֹן on the north ṣā·p̄ō·wn פְּאַ֥ת - , pə·’aṯ וְהָעִ֣יר with the city wə·hā·‘îr בַּתָּ֑וֶךְ in the center . bat·tā·weḵ זֶ֚ה These areas zeh יִהְיֶ֣ה will serve yih·yeh לָהֶ֔ם lā·hem מִגְרְשֵׁ֖י as larger pasturelands miḡ·rə·šê הֶעָרִֽים׃ for the cities . he·‘ā·rîm Numbers 35:6 וְאֵ֣ת - wə·’êṯ שֵׁשׁ־ Six šêš- הֶֽעָרִ֗ים of the cities he·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer תִּתְּנוּ֙ you give tit·tə·nū לַלְוִיִּ֔ם the Levites lal·wî·yim אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer תִּתְּנ֔וּ are to be appointed tit·tə·nū עָרֵ֣י as cities ‘ā·rê הַמִּקְלָ֔ט of refuge , ham·miq·lāṭ הָרֹצֵ֑חַ to which a manslayer hā·rō·ṣê·aḥ לָנֻ֥ס may flee lā·nus שָׁ֖מָּה - . šām·māh וַעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם In addition to these , wa·‘ă·lê·hem תִּתְּנ֔וּ give [the Levites] tit·tə·nū אַרְבָּעִ֥ים forty-two ’ar·bā·‘îm וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם . . . ū·šə·ta·yim עִֽיר׃ other cities . ‘îr Numbers 35:7 כָּל־ The total kāl- הֶעָרִ֗ים number of cities he·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer תִּתְּנוּ֙ you give tit·tə·nū לַלְוִיִּ֔ם the Levites lal·wî·yim אַרְבָּעִ֥ים [will be] forty-eight ’ar·bā·‘îm וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖ה . . . , ū·šə·mō·neh עִ֑יר . . . ‘îr אֶתְהֶ֖ן with their corresponding ’eṯ·hen וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃ pasturelands . miḡ·rə·šê·hen Numbers 35:8 וְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים The cities wə·he·‘ā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer תִּתְּנוּ֙ you apportion tit·tə·nū מֵאֵ֤ת . . . mê·’êṯ מֵאֲחֻזַּ֣ת from the territory mê·’ă·ḥuz·zaṯ בְּנֵי־ vvv bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl יִתֵּ֥ן should be given yit·tên מֵעָרָ֖יו - mê·‘ā·rāw לַלְוִיִּֽם׃פ to the Levites lal·wî·yim כְּפִ֤י in proportion to kə·p̄î נַחֲלָתוֹ֙ the inheritance na·ḥă·lā·ṯōw אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יִנְחָ֔לוּ - yin·ḥā·lū אִ֗ישׁ of each [tribe] : ’îš וּמֵאֵ֥ת . . . ū·mê·’êṯ תַּרְבּ֔וּ more from tar·bū הָרַב֙ a larger [tribe] hā·raḇ תַּמְעִ֑יטוּ and less from tam·‘î·ṭū הַמְעַ֖ט a smaller one . ” ham·‘aṭ Numbers 35:9 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר said way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses , mō·šeh לֵּאמֹֽר׃ . . . lê·mōr Numbers 35:10 דַּבֵּר֙ “ Speak dab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ and tell them wə·’ā·mar·tā אֲלֵהֶ֑ם . . . : ’ă·lê·hem כִּ֥י When kî
