שָׂ֗א are to take a count śā אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ רֹ֤אשׁ - rōš מַלְק֙וֹחַ֙ of what was captured mal·qō·w·aḥ הַשְּׁבִ֔י . . . , haš·šə·ḇî בָּאָדָ֖ם [both] of man bā·’ā·ḏām וּבַבְּהֵמָ֑ה and beast . ū·ḇab·bə·hê·māh Numbers 31:27 וְחָצִ֙יתָ֙ Then divide wə·ḥā·ṣî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּלְק֔וֹחַ the captives ham·mal·qō·w·aḥ בֵּ֚ין between bên תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י the troops tō·p̄ə·śê הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה . . . ham·mil·ḥā·māh הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים who went out hay·yō·ṣə·’îm לַצָּבָ֑א to battle laṣ·ṣā·ḇā וּבֵ֖ין . . . ū·ḇên כָּל־ and the rest of kāl- הָעֵדָֽה׃ the congregation . hā·‘ê·ḏāh Numbers 31:28 וַהֲרֵמֹתָ֨ Set aside wa·hă·rê·mō·ṯā מֶ֜כֶס a tribute me·ḵes לַֽיהוָ֗ה for YHWH Yah·weh מֵאֵ֞ת from what belongs mê·’êṯ הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ to the soldiers ham·mil·ḥā·māh אַנְשֵׁ֤י . . . ’an·šê הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים who went hay·yō·ṣə·’îm לַצָּבָ֔א into battle : laṣ·ṣā·ḇā אֶחָ֣ד one ’e·ḥāḏ נֶ֔פֶשׁ . . . ne·p̄eš וּמִן־ out of ū·min- מֵחֲמֵ֖שׁ every five mê·ḥă·mêš הַמֵּא֑וֹת hundred , ham·mê·’ō·wṯ מִן־ - min- הָאָדָם֙ whether persons , hā·’ā·ḏām הַבָּקָ֔ר cattle , hab·bā·qār וּמִן־ . . . ū·min- הַחֲמֹרִ֖ים donkeys , ha·ḥă·mō·rîm וּמִן־ . . . ū·min- הַצֹּֽאן׃ or sheep . haṣ·ṣōn Numbers 31:29 תִּקָּ֑חוּ Take it tiq·qā·ḥū מִמַּֽחֲצִיתָ֖ם from their half mim·ma·ḥă·ṣî·ṯām וְנָתַתָּ֛ה and give wə·nā·ṯat·tāh לְאֶלְעָזָ֥ר it to Eleazar lə·’el·‘ā·zār הַכֹּהֵ֖ן the priest hak·kō·hên תְּרוּמַ֥ת as an offering tə·rū·maṯ יְהוָֽה׃ to YHWH .
