וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ and said way·yō·mə·rū ל֗וֹ , lōw כֹּ֤ה “ This is what kōh בָּלָ֣ק Balak bā·lāq בֶּן־ son ben- צִפּ֔וֹר of Zippor ṣip·pō·wr אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar נָ֥א ‘ Please nā אַל־ let nothing ’al- תִמָּנַ֖ע hinder ṯim·mā·na‘ מֵהֲלֹ֥ךְ you from coming mê·hă·lōḵ אֵלָֽי׃ to me , ’ê·lāy Numbers 22:17 כִּֽי־ for kî- כַבֵּ֤ד I will honor you ḵab·bêḏ מְאֹ֔ד richly mə·’ōḏ אֲכַבֶּדְךָ֙ . . . ’ă·ḵab·beḏ·ḵā אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֑ה and do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh וְכֹ֛ל whatever wə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- תֹּאמַ֥ר you say tō·mar אֵלַ֖י . . . . ’ê·lay נָּא֙ So please nā וּלְכָה־ come ū·lə·ḵāh- קָֽבָה־ and put a curse qā·ḇāh- לִּ֔י lî אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ הַזֶּֽה׃ on this haz·zeh הָעָ֥ם people for me ! ’” hā·‘ām Numbers 22:18 בִּלְעָ֗ם But Balaam bil·‘ām וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ . . . way·yō·mer וַיַּ֣עַן replied way·ya·‘an אֶל־ to ’el- עַבְדֵ֣י the servants ‘aḇ·ḏê בָלָ֔ק of Balak , ḇā·lāq אִם־ “ If ’im- בָלָ֛ק Balak ḇā·lāq יִתֶּן־ were to give yit·ten- לִ֥י me lî בֵית֖וֹ his house ḇê·ṯōw מְלֹ֥א full mə·lō כֶּ֣סֶף of silver ke·sep̄ וְזָהָ֑ב and gold , wə·zā·hāḇ אוּכַ֗ל I could ’ū·ḵal לֹ֣א not lō לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ קְטַנָּ֖ה anything small qə·ṭan·nāh א֥וֹ or ’ōw גְדוֹלָֽה׃ great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh לַעֲבֹר֙ to go beyond la·‘ă·ḇōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פִּי֙ the command pî יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָ֔י my God . ’ĕ·lō·hāy Numbers 22:19 וְעַתָּ֗ה So now , wə·‘at·tāh נָ֥א please nā שְׁב֨וּ stay šə·ḇū בָזֶ֛ה here ḇā·zeh הַלָּ֑יְלָה overnight hal·lā·yə·lāh גַּם־ as the others did gam- אַתֶּ֖ם . . . , ’at·tem וְאֵ֣דְעָ֔ה that I may find out wə·’ê·ḏə·‘āh מַה־ what mah- יֹּסֵ֥ף else yō·sêp̄ יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh דַּבֵּ֥ר has to tell me dab·bêr עִמִּֽי׃ . . . . ” ‘im·mî Numbers 22:20 לַיְלָה֒ That night lay·lāh אֱלֹהִ֥ים׀ God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיָּבֹ֨א came way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- בִּלְעָם֮ Balaam bil·‘ām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer ל֗וֹ , lōw אִם־ “ Since ’im- הָאֲנָשִׁ֔ים these men hā·’ă·nā·šîm בָּ֣אוּ have come bā·’ū לִקְרֹ֤א to summon liq·rō לְךָ֙ you , lə·ḵā ק֖וּם get up qūm לֵ֣ךְ and go lêḵ אִתָּ֑ם with them , ’it·tām וְאַ֗ךְ but you must only wə·’aḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֛ר - had·dā·ḇār תַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ do ṯa·‘ă·śeh אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- אֲדַבֵּ֥ר I tell you ’ă·ḏab·bêr אֵלֶ֖יךָ . . . ’ê·le·ḵā
