Numbers 22:10 בִּלְעָ֖ם And Balaam bil·‘ām וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm בָּלָ֧ק “ Balak bā·lāq בֶּן־ son ben- צִפֹּ֛ר of Zippor , ṣip·pōr מֶ֥לֶךְ king me·leḵ מוֹאָ֖ב of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ שָׁלַ֥ח sent me šā·laḥ אֵלָֽי׃ this message : ’ê·lāy Numbers 22:11 הִנֵּ֤ה ‘ Behold , hin·nêh הָעָם֙ a people hā·‘ām הַיֹּצֵ֣א has come out hay·yō·ṣê מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt , mim·miṣ·ra·yim וַיְכַ֖ס and they cover way·ḵas אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵ֣ין the face ‘ên הָאָ֑רֶץ of the land . hā·’ā·reṣ עַתָּ֗ה Now ‘at·tāh לְכָ֤ה come lə·ḵāh קָֽבָה־ and put a curse qā·ḇāh- אֹת֔וֹ on them ’ō·ṯōw לִּי֙ for me . lî אוּלַ֥י Perhaps I may ’ū·lay אוּכַ֛ל be able ’ū·ḵal לְהִלָּ֥חֶם to fight lə·hil·lā·ḥem בּ֖וֹ against them bōw וְגֵרַשְׁתִּֽיו׃ and drive them away . ’” wə·ḡê·raš·tîw Numbers 22:12 אֱלֹהִים֙ But God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- בִּלְעָ֔ם Balaam , bil·‘ām לֹ֥א “ Do not lō תֵלֵ֖ךְ go ṯê·lêḵ עִמָּהֶ֑ם with them . ‘im·mā·hem לֹ֤א You are not lō תָאֹר֙ to curse ṯā·’ōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֔ם this people , hā·‘ām כִּ֥י for kî הֽוּא׃ they hū בָר֖וּךְ are blessed . ” ḇā·rūḵ Numbers 22:13 בִּלְעָם֙ So Balaam bil·‘ām וַיָּ֤קָם got up way·yā·qām בַּבֹּ֔קֶר the next morning bab·bō·qer וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ and said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- בָלָ֔ק Balak’s ḇā·lāq שָׂרֵ֣י princes , śā·rê לְכ֖וּ “ Go back lə·ḵū אֶֽל־ to ’el- אַרְצְכֶ֑ם your homeland , ’ar·ṣə·ḵem כִּ֚י because kî יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh מֵאֵ֣ן has refused mê·’ên לְתִתִּ֖י to let me lə·ṯit·tî לַהֲלֹ֥ךְ go la·hă·lōḵ עִמָּכֶֽם׃ with you . ” ‘im·mā·ḵem Numbers 22:14 שָׂרֵ֣י And the princes śā·rê מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab mō·w·’āḇ וַיָּק֙וּמוּ֙ arose , way·yā·qū·mū וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ returned way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- בָּלָ֑ק Balak , bā·lāq וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū בִּלְעָ֖ם “ Balaam bil·‘ām מֵאֵ֥ן refused mê·’ên הֲלֹ֥ךְ to come hă·lōḵ עִמָּֽנוּ׃ with us . ” ‘im·mā·nū Numbers 22:15 בָּלָ֑ק Then Balak bā·lāq שְׁלֹ֣חַ sent šə·lō·aḥ וַיֹּ֥סֶף other way·yō·sep̄ שָׂרִ֔ים princes , śā·rîm ע֖וֹד . . . ‘ō·wḏ רַבִּ֥ים more numerous rab·bîm וְנִכְבָּדִ֖ים and more distinguished wə·niḵ·bā·ḏîm מֵאֵֽלֶּה׃ than the [first messengers] . mê·’êl·leh Numbers 22:16 וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ They came way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- בִּלְעָ֑ם Balaam bil·‘ām
