כָּל־ of the whole kāl- הָעֵדָֽה׃ congregation . hā·‘ê·ḏāh Numbers 20:28 מֹשֶׁ֨ה After Moses mō·šeh אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּפְשֵׁט֩ had removed way·yap̄·šêṭ אַהֲרֹ֜ן Aaron’s ’a·hă·rōn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּגָדָ֗יו garments bə·ḡā·ḏāw וַיַּלְבֵּ֤שׁ and put them on way·yal·bêš אֹתָם֙ . . . ’ō·ṯām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנ֔וֹ his son bə·nōw אֶלְעָזָ֣ר Eleazar , ’el·‘ā·zār אַהֲרֹ֛ן Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיָּ֧מָת died way·yā·māṯ שָׁ֖ם there šām בְּרֹ֣אשׁ on top bə·rōš הָהָ֑ר of the mountain . hā·hār מֹשֶׁ֛ה Then Moses mō·šeh וְאֶלְעָזָ֖ר and Eleazar wə·’el·‘ā·zār וַיֵּ֧רֶד came down way·yê·reḏ מִן־ from min- הָהָֽר׃ the mountain . hā·hār Numbers 20:29 כָּל־ When the whole kāl- הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה congregation hā·‘ê·ḏāh וַיִּרְאוּ֙ saw way·yir·’ū כִּ֥י that kî אַהֲרֹ֑ן Aaron ’a·hă·rōn גָוַ֖ע had died , ḡā·wa‘ כֹּ֖ל the entire kōl בֵּ֥ית house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּבְכּ֤וּ mourned way·yiḇ·kū אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- אַהֲרֹן֙ for him ’a·hă·rōn שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים thirty šə·lō·šîm י֔וֹם days . yō·wm Numbers 21:1 הַכְּנַעֲנִ֤י When the Canaanite hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- עֲרָד֙ of Arad , ‘ă·rāḏ יֹשֵׁ֣ב who lived yō·šêḇ הַנֶּ֔גֶב in the Negev , han·ne·ḡeḇ וַיִּשְׁמַ֞ע heard way·yiš·ma‘ כִּ֚י that kî יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl בָּ֣א was coming bā דֶּ֖רֶךְ along the road de·reḵ הָאֲתָרִ֑ים to Atharim , hā·’ă·ṯā·rîm וַיִּלָּ֙חֶם֙ he attacked way·yil·lā·ḥem בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּ֥שְׁבְּ׀ and captured way·yišb מִמֶּ֖נּוּ some mim·men·nū שֶֽׁבִי׃ prisoners . še·ḇî Numbers 21:2 יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל So Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּדַּ֨ר made way·yid·dar נֶ֛דֶר a vow ne·ḏer לַֽיהוָ֖ה to YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּאמַ֑ר . . . : way·yō·mar אִם־ “ If ’im- נָתֹ֨ן You will deliver nā·ṯōn תִּתֵּ֜ן . . . tit·tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh הָעָ֤ם people hā·‘ām בְּיָדִ֔י into our hands , bə·yā·ḏî וְהַֽחֲרַמְתִּ֖י we will devote wə·ha·ḥă·ram·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָרֵיהֶֽם׃ their cities {to destruction} . ” ‘ā·rê·hem Numbers 21:3 יְהוָ֜ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּשְׁמַ֨ע heard way·yiš·ma‘ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל Israel’s yiś·rā·’êl בְּק֣וֹל plea bə·qō·wl וַיִּתֵּן֙ and delivered up way·yit·tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י the Canaanites . hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî וַיַּחֲרֵ֥ם [Israel] devoted way·ya·ḥă·rêm אֶתְהֶ֖ם them ’eṯ·hem וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- עָרֵיהֶ֑ם their cities {to destruction} ; ‘ā·rê·hem וַיִּקְרָ֥א so they named way·yiq·rā שֵׁם־ . . . šêm- הַמָּק֖וֹם the place ham·mā·qō·wm חָרְמָֽה׃פ Hormah . ḥā·rə·māh
