הַקָּרֵ֧ב׀ who comes near haq·qā·rêḇ הַקָּרֵ֛ב . . . haq·qā·rêḇ אֶל־ . . . ’el- מִשְׁכַּ֥ן the tabernacle miš·kan יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh יָמ֑וּת will die . yā·mūṯ הַאִ֥ם . . . ha·’im תַּ֖מְנוּ Are we all tam·nū לִגְוֺֽעַ׃ס going to perish ? ” liḡ·wō·a‘ Numbers 18:1 יְהוָה֙ So YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- אַהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron , ’a·hă·rōn אַתָּ֗ה “ You ’at·tāh וּבָנֶ֤יךָ and your sons ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā אָבִ֙יךָ֙ and your father’s ’ā·ḇî·ḵā אִתָּ֔ךְ . . . ’it·tāḵ וּבֵית־ house ū·ḇêṯ- תִּשְׂא֖וּ must bear tiś·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲוֺ֣ן the iniquity [involving] ‘ă·wōn הַמִּקְדָּ֑שׁ the sanctuary . ham·miq·dāš וְאַתָּה֙ And you wə·’at·tāh וּבָנֶ֣יךָ and your sons ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā אִתָּ֔ךְ [alone] ’it·tāḵ תִּשְׂא֖וּ must bear tiś·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֲוֺ֥ן the iniquity [involving] ‘ă·wōn כְּהֻנַּתְכֶֽם׃ your priesthood . kə·hun·naṯ·ḵem Numbers 18:2 הַקְרֵ֣ב But bring haq·rêḇ אִתָּ֔ךְ with you ’it·tāḵ וְגַ֣ם also wə·ḡam אֶת־ ’eṯ- אַחֶיךָ֩ your brothers ’a·ḥe·ḵā מַטֵּ֨ה from the tribe maṭ·ṭêh לֵוִ֜י of Levi , lê·wî שֵׁ֤בֶט the tribe šê·ḇeṭ אָבִ֙יךָ֙ of your father , ’ā·ḇî·ḵā וְיִלָּו֥וּ that they may join wə·yil·lā·wū עָלֶ֖יךָ you ‘ā·le·ḵā וִֽישָׁרְת֑וּךָ and assist wî·šā·rə·ṯū·ḵā וְאַתָּה֙ you wə·’at·tāh וּבָנֶ֣יךָ and your sons ū·ḇā·ne·ḵā אִתָּ֔ךְ . . . ’it·tāḵ לִפְנֵ֖י before lip̄·nê אֹ֥הֶל the Tent ’ō·hel הָעֵדֻֽת׃ of the Testimony . hā·‘ê·ḏuṯ Numbers 18:3 וְשָֽׁמְרוּ֙ And they shall attend wə·šā·mə·rū מִֽשְׁמַרְתְּךָ֔ to your duties miš·mar·tə·ḵā וּמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת and to all the duties ū·miš·me·reṯ כָּל־ . . . kāl- הָאֹ֑הֶל of the Tent ; hā·’ō·hel אַךְ֩ . . . ’aḵ אֶל־ but ’el- לֹ֣א they must not lō יִקְרָ֔בוּ come near yiq·rā·ḇū כְּלֵ֨י to the furnishings kə·lê הַקֹּ֤דֶשׁ of the sanctuary haq·qō·ḏeš וְאֶל־ or wə·’el- הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ the altar , ham·miz·bê·aḥ וְלֹֽא־ or wə·lō- גַם־ both ḡam- הֵ֖ם they hêm גַּם־ and gam- אַתֶּֽם׃ you ’at·tem יָמֻ֥תוּ will die . yā·mu·ṯū Numbers 18:4 וְנִלְו֣וּ They are to join wə·nil·wū עָלֶ֔יךָ you ‘ā·le·ḵā וְשָֽׁמְר֗וּ and attend wə·šā·mə·rū אֶת־ ’eṯ- מִשְׁמֶ֙רֶת֙ to the duties miš·me·reṯ אֹ֣הֶל of the Tent ’ō·hel מוֹעֵ֔ד of Meeting , mō·w·‘êḏ לְכֹ֖ל doing all lə·ḵōl עֲבֹדַ֣ת the work ‘ă·ḇō·ḏaṯ הָאֹ֑הֶל at the Tent ; hā·’ō·hel לֹא־ but no lō- וְזָ֖ר outsider wə·zār יִקְרַ֥ב may come near yiq·raḇ אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ you . ’ă·lê·ḵem Numbers 18:5 וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֗ם And you shall attend ū·šə·mar·tem אֵ֚ת ’êṯ מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת to the duties miš·me·reṯ הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ of the sanctuary haq·qō·ḏeš וְאֵ֖ת [and] wə·’êṯ
