שָׁנָ֔ה . . . šā·nāh יָשׁ֖וּב they must retire yā·šūḇ מִצְּבָ֣א from performing miṣ·ṣə·ḇā הָעֲבֹדָ֑ה the work hā·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh וְלֹ֥א and no wə·lō עֽוֹד׃ longer ‘ō·wḏ יַעֲבֹ֖ד serve . ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ Numbers 8:26 וְשֵׁרֵ֨ת After that, they may assist wə·šê·rêṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶחָ֜יו their brothers ’e·ḥāw לִשְׁמֹ֣ר in fulfilling liš·mōr מִשְׁמֶ֔רֶת their duties miš·me·reṯ בְּאֹ֤הֶל at the Tent bə·’ō·hel מוֹעֵד֙ of Meeting , mō·w·‘êḏ לֹ֣א but they themselves are not lō יַעֲבֹ֑ד to do ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ וַעֲבֹדָ֖ה the work . wa·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh כָּ֛כָה This is how kā·ḵāh תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה you are to assign ta·‘ă·śeh בְּמִשְׁמְרֹתָֽם׃פ responsibilities bə·miš·mə·rō·ṯām לַלְוִיִּ֖ם to the Levites . ” lal·wî·yim Numbers 9:1 הָרִאשׁ֖וֹן In the first hā·ri·šō·wn לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . lê·mōr בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ month ba·ḥō·ḏeš הַשֵּׁנִ֜ית of the second haš·šê·nîṯ בַּשָּׁנָ֨ה year baš·šā·nāh לְצֵאתָ֨ם after [Israel] had come out lə·ṣê·ṯām מֵאֶ֧רֶץ of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַ֛יִם of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר spoke way·ḏab·bêr מֹשֶׁ֣ה to Moses mō·šeh בְמִדְבַּר־ in the Wilderness ḇə·miḏ·bar- סִ֠ינַי of Sinai : sî·nay Numbers 9:2 בְנֵי־ “ The Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְיַעֲשׂ֧וּ are to observe wə·ya·‘ă·śū הַפָּ֖סַח the Passover hap·pā·saḥ בְּמוֹעֲדֽוֹ׃ at its appointed time . bə·mō·w·‘ă·ḏōw Numbers 9:3 תַּעֲשׂ֥וּ You are to observe ta·‘ă·śū אֹת֖וֹ it ’ō·ṯōw בְּמוֹעֲד֑וֹ at the appointed time , bə·mō·w·‘ă·ḏōw בֵּ֧ין at bên הָֽעֲרְבַּ֛יִם twilight hå̄·ʿăr·ba·yim בְּאַרְבָּעָ֣ה on the fourteenth bə·’ar·bā·‘āh עָשָֽׂר־ . . . ‘ā·śār- י֠וֹם day yō·wm הַזֶּ֜ה of this haz·zeh בַּחֹ֨דֶשׁ month , ba·ḥō·ḏeš תַּעֲשׂ֥וּ - ta·‘ă·śū אֹתֽוֹ׃ - ’ō·ṯōw כְּכָל־ in accordance with kə·ḵāl- חֻקֹּתָ֥יו its statutes ḥuq·qō·ṯāw וּכְכָל־ . . . ū·ḵə·ḵāl- מִשְׁפָּטָ֖יו and ordinances . ” miš·pā·ṭāw Numbers 9:4 מֹשֶׁ֛ה So Moses mō·šeh אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר told way·ḏab·bêr בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת to observe la·‘ă·śōṯ הַפָּֽסַח׃ the Passover , hap·pā·saḥ Numbers 9:5 וַיַּעֲשׂ֣וּ and they [did so] way·ya·‘ă·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַפֶּ֡סַח - hap·pe·saḥ בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר in the Wilderness bə·miḏ·bar סִינָ֑י of Sinai , sî·nāy בֵּ֥ין at bên הָעַרְבַּ֖יִם twilight hā·‘ar·ba·yim בְּאַרְבָּעָה֩ on the fourteenth bə·’ar·bā·‘āh עָשָׂ֨ר . . . ‘ā·śār י֥וֹם day yō·wm בָּרִאשׁ֡וֹן of the first bā·ri·šō·wn לַחֹ֛דֶשׁ month . la·ḥō·ḏeš בְּנֵ֥י The Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ . . . yiś·rā·’êl עָשׂ֖וּ did ‘ā·śū כְּ֠כֹל everything kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר just as ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh
