Leviticus 17:14 כִּֽי־ For kî- נֶ֣פֶשׁ the life ne·p̄eš כָּל־ of all kāl- בָּשָׂ֗ר flesh bā·śār דָּמ֣וֹ is its blood dā·mōw בְנַפְשׁוֹ֮ ḇə·nap̄·šōw הוּא֒ - . hū וָֽאֹמַר֙ Therefore I have told wā·’ō·mar לִבְנֵ֣י the Israelites liḇ·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl לֹ֣א ‘ You must not lō תֹאכֵ֑לוּ eat ṯō·ḵê·lū דַּ֥ם the blood dam כָּל־ of any kāl- בָּשָׂ֖ר living thing , bā·śār כִּ֣י because kî נֶ֤פֶשׁ the life ne·p̄eš כָּל־ of all kāl- בָּשָׂר֙ flesh bā·śār דָּמ֣וֹ is its blood ; dā·mōw הִ֔וא whoever hî כָּל־ . . . kāl- אֹכְלָ֖יו eats it ’ō·ḵə·lāw יִכָּרֵֽת׃ must be cut off . ’ yik·kā·rêṯ Leviticus 17:15 וְכָל־ And any wə·ḵāl נֶ֗פֶשׁ person , ne·p̄eš בָּאֶזְרָ֖ח whether native bā·’ez·rāḥ וּבַגֵּ֑ר or foreigner , ū·ḇag·gêr אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer תֹּאכַ֤ל eats tō·ḵal נְבֵלָה֙ anything found dead nə·ḇê·lāh וּטְרֵפָ֔ה or mauled by wild beasts ū·ṭə·rê·p̄āh וְכִבֶּ֨ס must wash wə·ḵib·bes בְּגָדָ֜יו his clothes bə·ḡā·ḏāw וְרָחַ֥ץ and bathe wə·rā·ḥaṣ בַּמַּ֛יִם with water , bam·ma·yim וְטָמֵ֥א and he will be unclean wə·ṭā·mê עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעֶ֖רֶב evening ; hā·‘e·reḇ וְטָהֵֽר׃ then he will be clean . wə·ṭā·hêr Leviticus 17:16 וְאִם֙ But if wə·’im לֹ֣א he does not lō יְכַבֵּ֔ס wash yə·ḵab·bês יִרְחָ֑ץ his clothes and bathe yir·ḥāṣ וּבְשָׂר֖וֹ himself , ū·ḇə·śā·rōw לֹ֣א . . . lō וְנָשָׂ֖א then he shall bear wə·nā·śā עֲוֺנֽוֹ׃פ his iniquity . ” ‘ă·wō·nōw Leviticus 18:1 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר said way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses mō·šeh לֵּאמֹֽר׃ . . . , lê·mōr Leviticus 18:2 דַּבֵּר֙ “ Speak dab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ [and] tell wə·’ā·mar·tā אֲלֵהֶ֑ם them : ’ă·lê·hem אֲנִ֖י I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֥ה am YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ your God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem Leviticus 18:3 לֹ֣א vvv lō תַעֲשׂ֑וּ You must not follow ṯa·‘ă·śū כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֧ה the practices kə·ma·‘ă·śêh אֶֽרֶץ־ of the land ’e·reṣ- מִצְרַ֛יִם of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim אֲשֶׁ֥ר where ’ă·šer יְשַׁבְתֶּם־ you used to live yə·šaḇ·tem- בָּ֖הּ , bāh וּכְמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה [and you must not follow] the practices ū·ḵə·ma·‘ă·śêh אֶֽרֶץ־ of the land ’e·reṣ- כְּנַ֡עַן of Canaan , kə·na·‘an אֲשֶׁ֣ר into which ’ă·šer אֲנִי֩ I ’ă·nî מֵבִ֨יא am bringing you . mê·ḇî אֶתְכֶ֥ם - ’eṯ·ḵem שָׁ֙מָּה֙ - šām·māh תַעֲשׂ֔וּ You must ṯa·‘ă·śū לֹ֣א not lō תֵלֵֽכוּ׃ walk ṯê·lê·ḵū וּבְחֻקֹּתֵיהֶ֖ם in their customs ū·ḇə·ḥuq·qō·ṯê·hem לֹ֥א . . . . lō
