וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ and fell way·yip·pə·lū עַל־ facedown ‘al- פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ . . . . pə·nê·hem Leviticus 10:1 אַ֠הֲרֹן Now Aaron’s ’a·hă·rōn בְנֵֽי־ sons ḇə·nê- נָדָ֨ב Nadab nā·ḏāḇ וַאֲבִיה֜וּא and Abihu wa·’ă·ḇî·hū אִ֣ישׁ - ’îš וַיִּקְח֣וּ took way·yiq·ḥū מַחְתָּת֗וֹ their censers , maḥ·tā·ṯōw וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ put way·yit·tə·nū אֵ֔שׁ fire ’êš בָהֵן֙ in them ḇā·hên וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ and added way·yā·śî·mū קְטֹ֑רֶת incense qə·ṭō·reṯ עָלֶ֖יהָ - , ‘ā·le·hā וַיַּקְרִ֜בוּ and offered way·yaq·ri·ḇū זָרָ֔ה unauthorized zā·rāh אֵ֣שׁ fire ’êš לִפְנֵ֤י before lip̄·nê יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֧ר - ’ă·šer לֹ֦א contrary to lō צִוָּ֖ה His command ṣiw·wāh אֹתָֽם׃ - . ’ō·ṯām Leviticus 10:2 אֵ֛שׁ So fire ’êš וַתֵּ֥צֵא came out wat·tê·ṣê מִלִּפְנֵ֥י from the presence mil·lip̄·nê יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתֹּ֣אכַל and consumed wat·tō·ḵal אוֹתָ֑ם them , ’ō·w·ṯām וַיָּמֻ֖תוּ and they died way·yā·mu·ṯū לִפְנֵ֥י in the presence of lip̄·nê יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Leviticus 10:3 מֹשֶׁ֜ה Then Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- אַהֲרֹ֗ן Aaron , ’a·hă·rōn הוּא֩ “ This hū אֲשֶׁר־ is what ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֤ה׀ YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֨ר meant dib·ber לֵאמֹר֙ when He said : lê·mōr בִּקְרֹבַ֣י ‘ To those who come near Me biq·rō·ḇay אֶקָּדֵ֔שׁ I will show My holiness , ’eq·qā·ḏêš וְעַל־ and in wə·‘al- פְּנֵ֥י the sight of pə·nê כָל־ all ḵāl הָעָ֖ם the people hā·‘ām אֶכָּבֵ֑ד I will reveal My glory . ’” ’ek·kā·ḇêḏ אַהֲרֹֽן׃ But Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיִּדֹּ֖ם remained silent . way·yid·dōm Leviticus 10:4 מֹשֶׁ֗ה Moses mō·šeh וַיִּקְרָ֣א summoned way·yiq·rā אֶל־ ’el- מִֽישָׁאֵל֙ Mishael mî·šā·’êl וְאֶ֣ל - wə·’el אֶלְצָפָ֔ן and Elzaphan , ’el·ṣā·p̄ān בְּנֵ֥י sons bə·nê אַהֲרֹ֑ן of Aaron’s ’a·hă·rōn דֹּ֣ד uncle dōḏ עֻזִּיאֵ֖ל Uzziel , ‘uz·zî·’êl וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶ֗ם to them , ’ă·lê·hem קִ֠רְב֞וּ “ Come here ; qir·ḇū שְׂא֤וּ carry śə·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲחֵיכֶם֙ the bodies of your cousins ’ă·ḥê·ḵem מֵאֵ֣ת - mê·’êṯ מִח֖וּץ outside mi·ḥūṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ the camp , lam·ma·ḥă·neh פְּנֵי־ away from the front pə·nê- הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ of the sanctuary haq·qō·ḏeš אֶל־ . . . . ” ’el- Leviticus 10:5 וַֽיִּקְרְב֗וּ So they came forward way·yiq·rə·ḇū וַיִּשָּׂאֻם֙ and carried them , way·yiś·śā·’um בְּכֻתֳּנֹתָ֔ם still in their tunics , bə·ḵut·to·nō·ṯām אֶל־ . . . ’el- מִח֖וּץ outside mi·ḥūṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה the camp , lam·ma·ḥă·neh כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר as ka·’ă·šer מֹשֶֽׁה׃ Moses mō·šeh דִּבֶּ֥ר had directed . dib·ber
