הַגּוֹיִם֙ the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ they had not lō- יְדָע֔וּם known , yə·ḏā·‘ūm וְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ and the land wə·hā·’ā·reṣ נָשַׁ֣מָּה was left desolate nā·šam·māh אַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם behind them ’a·ḥă·rê·hem מֵֽעֹבֵ֖ר so that no one could come mê·‘ō·ḇêr וּמִשָּׁ֑ב or go . ū·miš·šāḇ וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ Thus they turned way·yā·śî·mū חֶמְדָּ֖ה the pleasant ḥem·dāh אֶֽרֶץ־ land ’e·reṣ- לְשַׁמָּֽה׃פ into a desolation . ” lə·šam·māh Zechariah 8:1 דְּבַר־ Again the word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וַיְהִ֛י came [to me] , way·hî לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying : lê·mōr Zechariah 8:2 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar קִנֵּ֥אתִי “ I am jealous qin·nê·ṯî לְצִיּ֖וֹן for Zion lə·ṣî·yō·wn גְדוֹלָ֑ה with great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh קִנְאָ֣ה zeal ; qin·’āh קִנֵּ֥אתִי I am jealous qin·nê·ṯî לָֽהּ׃ for her lāh גְדוֹלָ֖ה with great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh וְחֵמָ֥ה fervor . ” wə·ḥê·māh Zechariah 8:3 כֹּ֚ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar שַׁ֚בְתִּי “ I will return ḇə·tî אֶל־ to ’el- צִיּ֔וֹן Zion ṣî·yō·wn וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י and dwell wə·šā·ḵan·tî בְּת֣וֹךְ in bə·ṯō·wḵ יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ Then Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim וְנִקְרְאָ֤ה will be called wə·niq·rə·’āh עִ֣יר־ the City ‘îr- הָֽאֱמֶ֔ת of Truth , hā·’ĕ·meṯ וְהַר־ and the mountain wə·har- יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ס [will be called] the Holy haq·qō·ḏeš הַ֥ר Mountain . ” har Zechariah 8:4 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar זְקֵנִ֣ים “ Old men zə·qê·nîm וּזְקֵנ֔וֹת and old women ū·zə·qê·nō·wṯ עֹ֤ד will again ‘ōḏ יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ sit yê·šə·ḇū בִּרְחֹב֖וֹת along the streets bir·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם of Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim וְאִ֧ישׁ each wə·’îš מִשְׁעַנְתּ֛וֹ with a staff miš·‘an·tōw בְּיָד֖וֹ in hand bə·yā·ḏōw מֵרֹ֥ב because of mê·rōḇ יָמִֽים׃ great age . yā·mîm Zechariah 8:5 וּרְחֹב֤וֹת And the streets ū·rə·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ הָעִיר֙ of the city hā·‘îr יִמָּ֣לְא֔וּ will be filled yim·mā·lə·’ū יְלָדִ֖ים with boys yə·lā·ḏîm וִֽילָד֑וֹת and girls wî·lā·ḏō·wṯ מְשַׂחֲקִ֖ים playing mə·śa·ḥă·qîm בִּרְחֹֽבֹתֶֽיהָ׃ס there . ” bir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā Zechariah 8:6 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar כִּ֣י “ If kî יִפָּלֵ֗א [this] is impossible yip·pā·lê בְּעֵינֵי֙ in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê שְׁאֵרִית֙ of the remnant šə·’ê·rîṯ הַזֶּ֔ה of this haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām הָהֵ֑ם in these hā·hêm בַּיָּמִ֖ים days , bay·yā·mîm
