בְּכִסְלֵֽו׃ the month of Chislev . bə·ḵis·lêw Zechariah 7:2 בֵּֽית־ vvv bêṯ- אֵ֔ל Now the people of Bethel ’êl וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ had sent way·yiš·laḥ שַׂר־ vvv śar- אֶ֕צֶר Sharezer ’e·ṣer וְרֶ֥גֶם vvv wə·re·ḡem מֶ֖לֶךְ and Regem-melech , me·leḵ וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֑יו along with their men , wa·’ă·nā·šāw לְחַלּ֖וֹת to plead lə·ḥal·lō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פְּנֵ֥י before pə·nê יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH Yah·weh Zechariah 7:3 לֵאמֹ֗ר by asking lê·mōr אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer לְבֵית־ of the house lə·ḇêṯ- יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וְאֶל־ as well as wə·’el- הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים the prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . , lê·mōr הַֽאֶבְכֶּה֙ “ Should I weep ha·’eḇ·keh הִנָּזֵ֕ר and fast hin·nā·zêr הַחֲמִשִׁ֔י in the fifth ha·ḥă·mi·šî בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ month , ba·ḥō·ḏeš כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר as ka·’ă·šer עָשִׂ֔יתִי I have done ‘ā·śî·ṯî זֶ֖ה these zeh כַּמֶּ֥ה many kam·meh שָׁנִֽים׃פ years ? ” šā·nîm Zechariah 7:4 דְּבַר־ Then the word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וַיְהִ֛י came way·hî אֵלַ֥י to me , ’ê·lay לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Zechariah 7:5 אֱמֹר֙ “ Ask ’ĕ·mōr אֶל־ . . . ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- עַ֣ם the people ‘am הָאָ֔רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים and the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . , lê·mōr כִּֽי־ ‘ When kî- צַמְתֶּ֨ם you fasted ṣam·tem וְסָפ֜וֹד and mourned wə·sā·p̄ō·wḏ בַּחֲמִישִׁ֣י in the fifth ba·ḥă·mî·šî וּבַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י and seventh months ū·ḇaš·šə·ḇî·‘î וְזֶה֙ for these wə·zeh שִׁבְעִ֣ים seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָ֔ה years , šā·nāh אָֽנִי׃ {was it really} for Me ’ā·nî הֲצ֥וֹם that you fasted hă·ṣō·wm צַמְתֻּ֖נִי . . . ? ṣam·tu·nî Zechariah 7:6 וְכִ֥י And when wə·ḵî תֹאכְל֖וּ you were eating ṯō·ḵə·lū וְכִ֣י . . . wə·ḵî תִשְׁתּ֑וּ and drinking , ṯiš·tū הֲל֤וֹא were you not hă·lō·w אַתֶּם֙ [doing so] ’at·tem הָאֹ֣כְלִ֔ים . . . hā·’ō·ḵə·lîm וְאַתֶּ֖ם . . . wə·’at·tem הַשֹּׁתִֽים׃ simply for yourselves ? haš·šō·ṯîm Zechariah 7:7 הֲל֣וֹא Are these not hă·lō·w אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדְּבָרִ֗ים the words had·də·ḇā·rîm אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh קָרָ֤א proclaimed qā·rā בְּיַד֙ through bə·yaḏ הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֔ים the earlier hā·ri·šō·nîm הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים prophets , han·nə·ḇî·’îm יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ when Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim סְבִיבֹתֶ֑יהָ and its surrounding sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯe·hā וְעָרֶ֖יהָ towns wə·‘ā·re·hā בִּהְי֤וֹת were bih·yō·wṯ יֹשֶׁ֣בֶת populous yō·še·ḇeṯ וּשְׁלֵוָ֔ה and prosperous , ū·šə·lê·wāh וְהַנֶּ֥גֶב and the Negev wə·han·ne·ḡeḇ
