וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And He replied , way·yō·mer לֵאמֹ֗ר . . . lê·mōr אֵ֣לֶּה “ These ’êl·leh הַקְּרָנ֞וֹת are the horns haq·qə·rā·nō·wṯ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- זֵ֣רוּ scattered zê·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוּדָ֗ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh כְּפִי־ so that kə·p̄î- לֹא־ no lō- אִישׁ֙ one ’îš נָשָׂ֣א could raise nā·śā רֹאשׁ֔וֹ his head ; rō·šōw אֵ֙לֶּה֙ but the [craftsmen] ’êl·leh וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ have come way·yā·ḇō·’ū לְהַחֲרִ֣יד to terrify lə·ha·ḥă·rîḏ אֹתָ֔ם them ’ō·ṯām לְיַדּ֞וֹת [and] throw down lə·yad·dō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- קַרְנ֣וֹת these horns qar·nō·wṯ הַגּוֹיִ֗ם of the nations hag·gō·w·yim הַנֹּשְׂאִ֥ים that have lifted up han·nō·śə·’îm קֶ֛רֶן their horns qe·ren אֶל־ against ’el- אֶ֥רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לְזָרוֹתָֽהּ׃ס to scatter it . ” lə·zā·rō·w·ṯāh Zechariah 2:1 וָאֶשָּׂ֥א Then I lifted wā·’eś·śā עֵינַ֛י up my eyes ‘ê·nay וָאֵ֖רֶא and saw wā·’ê·re וְהִנֵּה־ . . . wə·hin·nêh- אִ֑ישׁ a man ’îš מִדָּֽה׃ with a measuring mid·dāh חֶ֥בֶל line ḥe·ḇel וּבְיָד֖וֹ in his hand . ū·ḇə·yā·ḏōw Zechariah 2:2 אָ֖נָה “ Where ’ā·nāh אַתָּ֣ה are you ’at·tāh הֹלֵ֑ךְ going ? ” hō·lêḵ וָאֹמַ֕ר I asked . wā·’ō·mar לָמֹד֙ “ To measure lā·mōḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem , ” yə·rū·šā·lim וַיֹּ֣אמֶר he replied way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י . . . , ’ê·lay לִרְא֥וֹת “ and to determine lir·’ō·wṯ כַּמָּֽה־ . . . kam·māh- רָחְבָּ֖הּ its width rā·ḥə·bāh וְכַמָּ֥ה . . . wə·ḵam·māh אָרְכָּֽהּ׃ and length . ” ’ā·rə·kāh Zechariah 2:3 וְהִנֵּ֗ה Then wə·hin·nêh הַמַּלְאָ֛ךְ the angel ham·mal·’āḵ הַדֹּבֵ֥ר who was speaking had·dō·ḇêr בִּ֖י with me bî יֹצֵ֑א went out , yō·ṣê אַחֵ֔ר and another ’a·ḥêr וּמַלְאָ֣ךְ angel ū·mal·’āḵ יֹצֵ֖א came out yō·ṣê לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃ to meet him liq·rā·ṯōw Zechariah 2:4 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֵלָ֔ו to him , ʾē·lå̄w רֻ֗ץ “ Run ruṣ דַּבֵּ֛ר and tell dab·bêr אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַלָּ֖ז that hal·lāz לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . lê·mōr הַנַּ֥עַר young man : han·na·‘ar יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם ‘ Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim תֵּשֵׁ֣ב will be a city tê·šêḇ פְּרָזוֹת֙ without walls pə·rā·zō·wṯ מֵרֹ֥ב because of the multitude mê·rōḇ אָדָ֛ם of men ’ā·ḏām וּבְהֵמָ֖ה and livestock ū·ḇə·hê·māh בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃ within it . bə·ṯō·w·ḵāh Zechariah 2:5 וַאֲנִ֤י For I wa·’ă·nî אֶֽהְיֶה־ will be ’eh·yeh- לָּהּ֙ lāh ח֥וֹמַת a wall ḥō·w·maṯ אֵ֖שׁ of fire ’êš סָבִ֑יב around it , sā·ḇîḇ נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֶֽהְיֶ֥ה and I will be ’eh·yeh וּלְכָב֖וֹד the glory ū·lə·ḵā·ḇō·wḏ בְתוֹכָֽהּ׃פ within it . ’” ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵāh
