הָאָ֑רֶץ of the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ הַגּוֹיִֽם׃ Then the nations hag·gō·w·yim כֹּ֖ל of every kōl אִיֵּ֥י shore ’î·yê וְיִשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־ will bow in worship wə·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū- לוֹ֙ to Him , lōw אִ֣ישׁ each ’îš מִמְּקוֹמ֔וֹ in its own place . mim·mə·qō·w·mōw Zephaniah 2:12 אַתֶּ֣ם “ You too , ’at·tem כּוּשִׁ֔ים O Cushites , kū·šîm גַּם־ will gam- חַֽלְלֵ֥י be slain ḥal·lê חַרְבִּ֖י by My sword ḥar·bî הֵֽמָּה׃ . . . . ” hêm·māh Zephaniah 2:13 וְיֵ֤ט And He will stretch out wə·yêṭ יָדוֹ֙ His hand yā·ḏōw עַל־ against ‘al- צָפ֔וֹן the north ṣā·p̄ō·wn וִֽיאַבֵּ֖ד and destroy wî·’ab·bêḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַשּׁ֑וּר Assyria ; ’aš·šūr וְיָשֵׂ֤ם He will make wə·yā·śêm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נִֽינְוֵה֙ Nineveh nî·nə·wêh לִשְׁמָמָ֔ה a desolation , liš·mā·māh צִיָּ֖ה as dry ṣî·yāh כַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ as a desert . kam·miḏ·bār Zephaniah 2:14 עֲדָרִים֙ Herds ‘ă·ḏā·rîm וְרָבְצ֨וּ will lie down wə·rā·ḇə·ṣū בְתוֹכָ֤הּ in her midst , ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵāh חַיְתוֹ־ creatures ḥay·ṯōw- ג֔וֹי . . . ḡō·w כָּל־ of every kind . kāl- גַּם־ Both gam- קָאַת֙ the desert owl qā·’aṯ גַּם־ and gam- קִפֹּ֔ד screech owl qip·pōḏ יָלִ֑ינוּ will roost yā·lî·nū בְּכַפְתֹּרֶ֖יהָ atop her [pillars] . bə·ḵap̄·tō·re·hā ק֠וֹל Their calls qō·wl יְשׁוֹרֵ֤ר will sound yə·šō·w·rêr בַּֽחַלּוֹן֙ from the window , ba·ḥal·lō·wn חֹ֣רֶב but desolation ḥō·reḇ בַּסַּ֔ף will lie on the threshold , bas·sap̄ כִּ֥י for kî עֵרָֽה׃ He will expose ‘ê·rāh אַרְזָ֖ה the beams of cedar . ’ar·zāh Zephaniah 2:15 זֹ֠את This zōṯ הָעַלִּיזָה֙ carefree hā·‘al·lî·zāh הָעִ֤יר city hā·‘îr הַיּוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת that dwells hay·yō·wō·še·ḇeṯ לָבֶ֔טַח securely , lā·ḇe·ṭaḥ הָאֹֽמְרָה֙ that thinks hā·’ō·mə·rāh בִּלְבָבָ֔הּ to herself : bil·ḇā·ḇāh אֲנִ֖י “ I [am it] , ’ă·nî וְאַפְסִ֣י and [there is] none wə·’ap̄·sî ע֑וֹד besides me , ” ‘ō·wḏ אֵ֣יךְ׀ what ’êḵ לְשַׁמָּ֗ה a ruin lə·šam·māh הָיְתָ֣ה she has become , hā·yə·ṯāh מַרְבֵּץ֙ a resting place mar·bêṣ לַֽחַיָּ֔ה for beasts . la·ḥay·yāh כֹּ֚ל Everyone kōl עוֹבֵ֣ר who passes ‘ō·w·ḇêr עָלֶ֔יהָ by her ‘ā·le·hā יִשְׁרֹ֖ק hisses yiš·rōq יָנִ֥יעַ and shakes yā·nî·a‘ יָדֽוֹ׃ס his fist . yā·ḏōw Zephaniah 3:1 ה֥וֹי Woe hō·w הָעִ֖יר to the city hā·‘îr הַיּוֹנָֽה׃ of oppressors , hay·yō·w·nāh מֹרְאָ֖ה rebellious mō·rə·’āh וְנִגְאָלָ֑ה and defiled ! wə·niḡ·’ā·lāh Zephaniah 3:2 שָֽׁמְעָה֙ She heeded šā·mə·‘āh לֹ֤א no lō בְּק֔וֹל voice ; bə·qō·wl לָקְחָ֖ה she accepted lā·qə·ḥāh לֹ֥א no lō מוּסָ֑ר correction . mū·sār לֹ֣א She does not lō בָטָ֔חָה trust ḇā·ṭā·ḥāh בַּֽיהוָה֙ in YHWH ; Yah·weh
