Zephaniah 2:6 חֶ֣בֶל So the seacoast ḥe·ḇel הַיָּ֗ם . . . hay·yām וְֽהָיְתָ֞ה will become wə·hā·yə·ṯāh נְוֺ֛ת [a land of] pastures , nə·wōṯ כְּרֹ֥ת with wells kə·rōṯ רֹעִ֖ים for shepherds rō·‘îm וְגִדְר֥וֹת and folds wə·ḡiḏ·rō·wṯ צֹֽאן׃ for sheep . ṣōn Zephaniah 2:7 חֶ֗בֶל The coast will belong ḥe·ḇel וְהָ֣יָה to wə·hā·yāh לִשְׁאֵרִ֛ית the remnant liš·’ê·rîṯ בֵּ֥ית of the house bêṯ יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah ; yə·hū·ḏāh עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם there ‘ă·lê·hem יִרְע֑וּן they will find pasture . yir·‘ūn יִרְבָּצ֔וּן They will lie down yir·bā·ṣūn בָּעֶ֙רֶב֙ in the evening bā·‘e·reḇ בְּבָתֵּ֣י among the houses bə·ḇāt·tê אַשְׁקְל֗וֹן of Ashkelon , ’aš·qə·lō·wn כִּ֧י for kî יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם their God ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem יִפְקְדֵ֛ם will attend to them yip̄·qə·ḏêm וְשָׁ֥ב and restore wə·šāḇ שְׁבוּתָם׃ their captives . šə·ḇū·ṯå̄m Zephaniah 2:8 שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ “ I have heard šā·ma‘·tî חֶרְפַּ֣ת the reproach ḥer·paṯ מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab mō·w·’āḇ וְגִדּוּפֵ֖י and the insults wə·ḡid·dū·p̄ê בְּנֵ֣י of the Ammonites bə·nê עַמּ֑וֹן . . . , ‘am·mō·wn אֲשֶׁ֤ר who ’ă·šer חֵֽרְפוּ֙ have taunted ḥê·rə·p̄ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַמִּ֔י My people ‘am·mî וַיַּגְדִּ֖ילוּ and threatened way·yaḡ·dî·lū עַל־ . . . ‘al- גְּבוּלָֽם׃ their borders . gə·ḇū·lām Zephaniah 2:9 לָכֵ֣ן Therefore , lā·ḵên אָ֡נִי as surely as I ’ā·nî חַי־ live , ” ḥay- נְאֻם֩ declares nə·’um יְהוָ֨ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֜וֹת of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כִּֽי־ “ surely kî- מוֹאָ֞ב Moab mō·w·’āḇ תִּֽהְיֶה֙ will be tih·yeh כִּסְדֹ֤ם like Sodom kis·ḏōm וּבְנֵ֤י and the Ammonites ū·ḇə·nê עַמּוֹן֙ . . . ‘am·mō·wn כַּֽעֲמֹרָ֔ה like Gomorrah — ka·‘ă·mō·rāh מִמְשַׁ֥ק a place mim·šaq חָר֛וּל of weeds ḥā·rūl וּמִכְרֵה־ and ū·miḵ·rêh- מֶ֥לַח salt pits , me·laḥ עַד־ vvv ‘aḏ- עוֹלָ֑ם a perpetual ‘ō·w·lām וּשְׁמָמָ֖ה wasteland . ū·šə·mā·māh שְׁאֵרִ֤ית The remnant šə·’ê·rîṯ עַמִּי֙ of My people ‘am·mî יְבָזּ֔וּם will plunder them ; yə·ḇāz·zūm וְיֶ֥תֶר the remainder wə·ye·ṯer גּוֹי of My nation goy יִנְחָלֽוּם׃ will dispossess them . ” yin·ḥā·lūm Zephaniah 2:10 זֹ֥את This zōṯ לָהֶ֖ם they shall have lā·hem תַּ֣חַת in return for ta·ḥaṯ גְּאוֹנָ֑ם their pride , gə·’ō·w·nām כִּ֤י for kî חֵֽרְפוּ֙ taunting ḥê·rə·p̄ū וַיַּגְדִּ֔לוּ and mocking way·yaḡ·di·lū עַל־ . . . ‘al- עַ֖ם the people ‘am יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאֽוֹת׃ of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ Zephaniah 2:11 יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh נוֹרָ֤א will be terrifying nō·w·rā עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם to them ‘ă·lê·hem כִּ֣י when kî רָזָ֔ה He starves rā·zāh אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֱלֹהֵ֣י the gods ’ĕ·lō·hê
