הָאָ֑רֶץ earth hā·’ā·reṣ תֵּאָכֵ֖ל will be consumed tê·’ā·ḵêl וּבְאֵשׁ֙ by the fire ū·ḇə·’êš קִנְאָת֔וֹ of His jealousy . ” qin·’ā·ṯōw כִּֽי־ For kî- אַךְ־ indeed , ’aḵ- יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה He will make ya·‘ă·śeh נִבְהָלָה֙ a sudden niḇ·hā·lāh כָלָ֤ה end ḵā·lāh אֵ֥ת of ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- יֹשְׁבֵ֖י who dwell yō·šə·ḇê הָאָֽרֶץ׃ס on the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ Zephaniah 2:1 הִֽתְקוֹשְׁשׁ֖וּ Gather yourselves , hiṯ·qō·wō·šə·šū וָק֑וֹשּׁוּ gather together , wā·qō·wōš·šū לֹ֥א O shameful lō נִכְסָֽף׃ . . . niḵ·sāp̄ הַגּ֖וֹי nation , hag·gō·w Zephaniah 2:2 בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ before bə·ṭe·rem חֹ֔ק the decree ḥōq לֶ֣דֶת takes effect le·ḏeṯ י֑וֹם and the day yō·wm עָ֣בַר passes ‘ā·ḇar כְּמֹ֖ץ like chaff , kə·mōṣ בְּטֶ֣רֶם׀ before bə·ṭe·rem לֹא־ . . . lō- חֲרוֹן֙ the burning ḥă·rō·wn אַף־ anger ’ap̄- יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh יָב֣וֹא comes yā·ḇō·w עֲלֵיכֶ֗ם upon you , ‘ă·lê·ḵem בְּטֶ֙רֶם֙ before bə·ṭe·rem לֹא־ . . . lō- י֖וֹם the Day yō·wm יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH’s Yah·weh אַף־ anger ’ap̄- יָב֣וֹא comes yā·ḇō·w עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם upon you . ‘ă·lê·ḵem Zephaniah 2:3 בַּקְּשׁ֤וּ Seek baq·qə·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh כָּל־ all kāl- עַנְוֵ֣י you humble ‘an·wê הָאָ֔רֶץ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer פָּעָ֑לוּ carry out pā·‘ā·lū מִשְׁפָּט֖וֹ His justice . miš·pā·ṭōw בַּקְּשׁוּ־ Seek baq·qə·šū- צֶ֙דֶק֙ righteousness ; ṣe·ḏeq בַּקְּשׁ֣וּ seek baq·qə·šū עֲנָוָ֔ה humility . ‘ă·nā·wāh אוּלַי֙ Perhaps ’ū·lay תִּסָּ֣תְר֔וּ you will be sheltered tis·sā·ṯə·rū בְּי֖וֹם on the day bə·yō·wm יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH’s Yah·weh אַף־ anger . ’ap̄- Zephaniah 2:4 כִּ֤י For kî עַזָּה֙ Gaza ‘az·zāh תִֽהְיֶ֔ה will be ṯih·yeh עֲזוּבָ֣ה abandoned , ‘ă·zū·ḇāh וְאַשְׁקְל֖וֹן and Ashkelon wə·’aš·qə·lō·wn לִשְׁמָמָ֑ה left in ruins . liš·mā·māh אַשְׁדּ֗וֹד Ashdod ’aš·dō·wḏ יְגָ֣רְשׁ֔וּהָ will be driven out yə·ḡā·rə·šū·hā בַּֽצָּהֳרַ֙יִם֙ at noon , baṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim וְעֶקְר֖וֹן and Ekron wə·‘eq·rō·wn תֵּעָקֵֽר׃ס will be uprooted . tê·‘ā·qêr Zephaniah 2:5 ה֗וֹי Woe hō·w יֹֽשְׁבֵ֛י to the dwellers yō·šə·ḇê חֶ֥בֶל of ḥe·ḇel הַיָּ֖ם the seacoast , hay·yām גּ֣וֹי O nation gō·w כְּרֵתִ֑ים of the Cherethites ! kə·rê·ṯîm דְּבַר־ The word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh עֲלֵיכֶ֗ם is against you , ‘ă·lê·ḵem כְּנַ֙עַן֙ O Canaan , kə·na·‘an אֶ֣רֶץ land ’e·reṣ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים of the Philistines : pə·liš·tîm וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖יךְ “ I will destroy you , wə·ha·’ă·ḇaḏ·tîḵ מֵאֵ֥ין and no one will be mê·’ên יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ left . ” yō·wō·šêḇ
