בִּגְדֵיכֶ֔ם your garments , biḡ·ḏê·ḵem וְשׁ֖וּבוּ and return wə·šū·ḇū אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֑ם your God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem כִּֽי־ For kî- ה֔וּא He hū חַנּ֤וּן is gracious ḥan·nūn וְרַחוּם֙ and compassionate , wə·ra·ḥūm אֶ֤רֶךְ slow ’e·reḵ אַפַּ֙יִם֙ to anger , ’ap·pa·yim וְרַב־ abounding wə·raḇ- חֶ֔סֶד in loving devotion . ḥe·seḏ וְנִחָ֖ם And He relents wə·ni·ḥām עַל־ from ‘al- הָרָעָֽה׃ sending disaster . hā·rā·‘āh Joel 2:14 מִ֥י Who mî יוֹדֵ֖עַ knows ? yō·w·ḏê·a‘ יָשׁ֣וּב He may turn yā·šūḇ וְנִחָ֑ם and relent wə·ni·ḥām וְהִשְׁאִ֤יר and leave wə·hiš·’îr בְּרָכָ֔ה a blessing bə·rā·ḵāh אַֽחֲרָיו֙ behind Him — ’a·ḥă·rāw מִנְחָ֣ה grain min·ḥāh וָנֶ֔סֶךְ and drink offerings wā·ne·seḵ לַיהוָ֖ה for YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃פ your God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem Joel 2:15 תִּקְע֥וּ Blow tiq·‘ū שׁוֹפָ֖ר the ram’s horn šō·w·p̄ār בְּצִיּ֑וֹן in Zion , bə·ṣî·yō·wn קַדְּשׁוּ־ consecrate qad·də·šū- צ֖וֹם a fast , ṣō·wm קִרְא֥וּ proclaim qir·’ū עֲצָרָֽה׃ a sacred assembly . ‘ă·ṣā·rāh Joel 2:16 אִסְפוּ־ Gather ’is·p̄ū- עָ֞ם the people , ‘ām קַדְּשׁ֤וּ sanctify qad·də·šū קָהָל֙ the congregation , qā·hāl קִבְצ֣וּ assemble qiḇ·ṣū זְקֵנִ֔ים the aged , zə·qê·nîm אִסְפוּ֙ gather ’is·p̄ū עֽוֹלָלִ֔ים the children , ‘ō·w·lā·lîm וְיֹנְקֵ֖י even those nursing wə·yō·nə·qê שָׁדָ֑יִם at the breast . šā·ḏā·yim חָתָן֙ Let the bridegroom ḥā·ṯān יֵצֵ֤א leave yê·ṣê מֵֽחֶדְר֔וֹ his room , mê·ḥeḏ·rōw וְכַלָּ֖ה and the bride wə·ḵal·lāh מֵחֻפָּתָֽהּ׃ her chamber . mê·ḥup·pā·ṯāh Joel 2:17 הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים Let the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm מְשָׁרְתֵ֖י who minister mə·šā·rə·ṯê יְהוָ֑ה before YHWH Yah·weh יִבְכּוּ֙ weep yiḇ·kū בֵּ֤ין between bên הָאוּלָם֙ the portico hā·’ū·lām וְלַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ and the altar , wə·lam·miz·bê·aḥ וְֽיֹאמְר֞וּ saying , wə·yō·mə·rū ח֧וּסָה “ Spare ḥū·sāh עַל־ ‘al- עַמֶּ֗ךָ Your people , ‘am·me·ḵā יְהוָ֣ה O YHWH , Yah·weh וְאַל־ and do not wə·’al- תִּתֵּ֨ן make tit·tên נַחֲלָתְךָ֤ Your heritage na·ḥă·lā·ṯə·ḵā לְחֶרְפָּה֙ a reproach , lə·ḥer·pāh לִמְשָׁל־ an object of scorn lim·šāl- בָּ֣ם bām גּוֹיִ֔ם among the nations . gō·w·yim לָ֚מָּה Why lām·māh יֹאמְר֣וּ should they say yō·mə·rū בָֽעַמִּ֔ים among the peoples , ḇā·‘am·mîm אַיֵּ֖ה ‘ Where ’ay·yêh אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ is their God ? ’” ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem Joel 2:18 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיְקַנֵּ֥א became jealous way·qan·nê לְאַרְצ֑וֹ for His land , lə·’ar·ṣōw וַיַּחְמֹ֖ל and He spared way·yaḥ·mōl עַל־ . . . ‘al- עַמּֽוֹ׃ His people . ‘am·mōw Joel 2:19 יְהוָ֜ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer וַיַּ֨עַן answered way·ya·‘an
