הָאָ֔רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ בֵּ֖ית to the house bêṯ יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם your God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem וְזַעֲק֖וּ and cry out wə·za·‘ă·qū אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Joel 1:15 אֲהָ֖הּ Alas ’ă·hāh לַיּ֑וֹם for the day ! lay·yō·wm כִּ֤י For kî י֣וֹם the Day yō·wm יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH Yah·weh קָרוֹב֙ is near , qā·rō·wḇ יָבֽוֹא׃ and it will come yā·ḇō·w וּכְשֹׁ֖ד as destruction ū·ḵə·šōḏ מִשַׁדַּ֥י from the Almighty . mi·šad·day Joel 1:16 הֲל֛וֹא Has not hă·lō·w אֹ֣כֶל the food ’ō·ḵel נִכְרָ֑ת been cut off niḵ·rāṯ נֶ֥גֶד before ne·ḡeḏ עֵינֵ֖ינוּ our very eyes — ‘ê·nê·nū שִׂמְחָ֥ה joy śim·ḥāh וָגִֽיל׃ and gladness wā·ḡîl מִבֵּ֥ית from the house mib·bêṯ אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ of our God ? ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū Joel 1:17 פְרֻד֗וֹת The seeds p̄ə·ru·ḏō·wṯ עָבְשׁ֣וּ lie shriveled ‘ā·ḇə·šū תַּ֚חַת beneath ta·ḥaṯ מֶגְרְפֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם the clods ; meḡ·rə·p̄ō·ṯê·hem אֹֽצָר֔וֹת the storehouses ’ō·ṣā·rō·wṯ נָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ are in ruins ; nā·šam·mū מַמְּגֻר֑וֹת the granaries mam·mə·ḡu·rō·wṯ נֶהֶרְס֖וּ are broken down , ne·her·sū כִּ֥י for kî דָּגָֽן׃ the grain dā·ḡān הֹבִ֖ישׁ has withered away . hō·ḇîš Joel 1:18 מַה־ How mah- בְהֵמָ֗ה the cattle ḇə·hê·māh נֶּאֶנְחָ֣ה groan ! ne·’en·ḥāh עֶדְרֵ֣י The herds ‘eḏ·rê בָקָ֔ר . . . ḇā·qār נָבֹ֙כוּ֙ wander in confusion nā·ḇō·ḵū כִּ֛י because kî אֵ֥ין they have no ’ên מִרְעֶ֖ה pasture mir·‘eh לָהֶ֑ם . . . . lā·hem גַּם־ Even gam- עֶדְרֵ֥י the flocks ‘eḏ·rê הַצֹּ֖אן of sheep haṣ·ṣōn נֶאְשָֽׁמוּ׃ are suffering . ne’·šā·mū Joel 1:19 אֵלֶ֥יךָ To You , ’ê·le·ḵā יְהוָ֖ה O YHWH , Yah·weh אֶקְרָ֑א I call , ’eq·rā כִּ֣י for kî אֵ֗שׁ fire ’êš אָֽכְלָה֙ has consumed ’ā·ḵə·lāh מִדְבָּ֔ר the open miḏ·bār נְא֣וֹת pastures nə·’ō·wṯ וְלֶ֣הָבָ֔ה and flames wə·le·hā·ḇāh לִהֲטָ֖ה have scorched li·hă·ṭāh כָּל־ all kāl- עֲצֵ֥י the trees ‘ă·ṣê הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ of the field . haś·śā·ḏeh Joel 1:20 גַּם־ Even gam- בַּהֲמ֥וֹת the beasts ba·hă·mō·wṯ שָׂדֶ֖ה of the field śā·ḏeh תַּעֲר֣וֹג pant ta·‘ă·rō·wḡ אֵלֶ֑יךָ for You , ’ê·le·ḵā כִּ֤י for kî אֲפִ֣יקֵי the streams ’ă·p̄î·qê מָ֔יִם of water mā·yim יָֽבְשׁוּ֙ have dried up , yā·ḇə·šū וְאֵ֕שׁ and fire wə·’êš אָכְלָ֖ה has consumed ’ā·ḵə·lāh הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃פ the open ham·miḏ·bār נְא֥וֹת pastures . nə·’ō·wṯ Joel 2:1 תִּקְע֨וּ Blow tiq·‘ū שׁוֹפָ֜ר the ram’s horn šō·w·p̄ār בְּצִיּ֗וֹן in Zion ; bə·ṣî·yō·wn
