Hosea 5:9 אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim תִֽהְיֶ֔ה will be ṯih·yeh לְשַׁמָּ֣ה laid waste lə·šam·māh בְּי֖וֹם on the day bə·yō·wm תּֽוֹכֵחָ֑ה of rebuke . tō·w·ḵê·ḥāh בְּשִׁבְטֵי֙ Among the tribes bə·šiḇ·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl הוֹדַ֖עְתִּי I proclaim hō·w·ḏa‘·tî נֶאֱמָנָֽה׃ what is certain . ne·’ĕ·mā·nāh Hosea 5:10 שָׂרֵ֣י The princes śā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh הָיוּ֙ are like those hā·yū כְּמַסִּיגֵ֖י who move kə·mas·sî·ḡê גְּב֑וּל boundary stones ; gə·ḇūl אֶשְׁפּ֥וֹךְ I will pour out ’eš·pō·wḵ עֶבְרָתִֽי׃ My fury ‘eḇ·rā·ṯî עֲלֵיהֶ֕ם upon them ‘ă·lê·hem כַּמַּ֖יִם like water . kam·ma·yim Hosea 5:11 אֶפְרַ֖יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim עָשׁ֥וּק is oppressed , ‘ā·šūq רְצ֣וּץ crushed rə·ṣūṣ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט in judgment , miš·pāṭ כִּ֣י for kî הוֹאִ֔יל he is determined hō·w·’îl הָלַ֖ךְ to follow hā·laḵ אַחֲרֵי־ . . . ’a·ḥă·rê- צָֽו׃ worthless idols . ṣāw Hosea 5:12 וַאֲנִ֥י So I am wa·’ă·nî כָעָ֖שׁ like a moth ḵā·‘āš לְאֶפְרָ֑יִם to Ephraim , lə·’ep̄·rā·yim וְכָרָקָ֖ב and like decay wə·ḵā·rā·qāḇ לְבֵ֥ית to the house lə·ḇêṯ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh Hosea 5:13 אֶפְרַ֜יִם When Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּ֨רְא saw way·yar חָלְי֗וֹ his sickness ḥā·lə·yōw וִֽיהוּדָה֙ and Judah wî·hū·ḏāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מְזֹר֔וֹ his wound , mə·zō·rōw אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ then Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ turned way·yê·leḵ אֶל־ to ’el- אַשּׁ֔וּר Assyria ’aš·šūr וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח and sent way·yiš·laḥ אֶל־ to ’el- יָרֵ֑ב the great yā·rêḇ מֶ֣לֶךְ king . me·leḵ וְה֗וּא But he wə·hū לֹ֤א cannot lō יוּכַל֙ . . . yū·ḵal לִרְפֹּ֣א cure lir·pō לָכֶ֔ם you lā·ḵem וְלֹֽא־ [or] wə·lō- יִגְהֶ֥ה heal yiḡ·heh מִכֶּ֖ם . . . mik·kem מָזֽוֹר׃ your wound . mā·zō·wr Hosea 5:14 כִּ֣י For kî אָנֹכִ֤י I ’ā·nō·ḵî כַשַּׁ֙חַל֙ am like a lion ḵaš·ša·ḥal לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם to Ephraim lə·’ep̄·ra·yim וְכַכְּפִ֖יר and like a young lion wə·ḵak·kə·p̄îr לְבֵ֣ית to the house lə·ḇêṯ יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh אֲנִ֨י I , ’ă·nî אֲנִ֤י [even] I , ’ă·nî אֶטְרֹף֙ will tear them to pieces ’eṭ·rōp̄ וְאֵלֵ֔ךְ and then go away . wə·’ê·lêḵ אֶשָּׂ֖א I will carry them off ’eś·śā וְאֵ֥ין [where] no one wə·’ên מַצִּֽיל׃ can rescue them . maṣ·ṣîl Hosea 5:15 אֵלֵ֤ךְ Then I will return ’ê·lêḵ אָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ . . . ’ā·šū·ḇāh אֶל־ to ’el- מְקוֹמִ֔י My place mə·qō·w·mî עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ אֲשֶֽׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יֶאְשְׁמ֖וּ they admit their guilt ye’·šə·mū וּבִקְשׁ֣וּ and seek ū·ḇiq·šū
