פָנָ֑י My face ; p̄ā·nāy בַּצַּ֥ר in their affliction baṣ·ṣar יְשַׁחֲרֻֽנְנִי׃ they will earnestly seek Me yə·ša·ḥă·run·nî לָהֶ֖ם . . . . ” lā·hem Hosea 6:1 לְכוּ֙ Come , lə·ḵū וְנָשׁ֣וּבָה let us return wə·nā·šū·ḇāh אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH . Yah·weh כִּ֛י For kî ה֥וּא He hū טָרָ֖ף has torn us to pieces , ṭā·rāp̄ וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑נוּ but He will heal us ; wə·yir·pā·’ê·nū יַ֖ךְ He has wounded us , yaḵ וְיַחְבְּשֵֽׁנוּ׃ but He will bind up our wounds . wə·yaḥ·bə·šê·nū Hosea 6:2 מִיֹּמָ֑יִם After two days mî·yō·mā·yim יְחַיֵּ֖נוּ He will revive us ; yə·ḥay·yê·nū הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י on the third haš·šə·lî·šî בַּיּוֹם֙ day bay·yō·wm יְקִמֵ֖נוּ He will raise us up , yə·qi·mê·nū וְנִחְיֶ֥ה that we may live wə·niḥ·yeh לְפָנָֽיו׃ in His presence . lə·p̄ā·nāw Hosea 6:3 וְנֵדְעָ֣ה So let us know — wə·nê·ḏə·‘āh נִרְדְּפָ֗ה let us press on nir·də·p̄āh לָדַ֙עַת֙ to know lā·ḏa·‘aṯ אֶת־ ’eṯ- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH . Yah·weh נָכ֣וֹן As surely as nā·ḵō·wn כְּשַׁ֖חַר the sun rises , kə·ša·ḥar מֽוֹצָא֑וֹ He will appear ; mō·w·ṣā·’ōw וְיָב֤וֹא He will come wə·yā·ḇō·w לָ֔נוּ to us lā·nū כַגֶּ֙שֶׁם֙ like the rain , ḵag·ge·šem כְּמַלְק֖וֹשׁ like the spring showers kə·mal·qō·wōš י֥וֹרֶה that water yō·w·reh אָֽרֶץ׃ the earth . ’ā·reṣ Hosea 6:4 מָ֤ה What māh אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ shall I do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh- לְּךָ֙ with you , lə·ḵā אֶפְרַ֔יִם O Ephraim ? ’ep̄·ra·yim מָ֥ה What māh אֶעֱשֶׂה־ shall I do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh- לְּךָ֖ with you , lə·ḵā יְהוּדָ֑ה O Judah ? yə·hū·ḏāh וְחַסְדְּכֶם֙ For your loyalty wə·ḥas·də·ḵem בֹּ֔קֶר is like a morning bō·qer כַּֽעֲנַן־ mist , ka·‘ă·nan- מַשְׁכִּ֥ים like the early maš·kîm וְכַטַּ֖ל dew wə·ḵaṭ·ṭal הֹלֵֽךְ׃ that vanishes . hō·lêḵ Hosea 6:5 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֗ן . . . kên חָצַ֙בְתִּי֙ I have hewn [them] ḥā·ṣaḇ·tî בַּנְּבִיאִ֔ים by the prophets ; ban·nə·ḇî·’îm הֲרַגְתִּ֖ים I have slain them hă·raḡ·tîm בְּאִמְרֵי־ by the words bə·’im·rê- פִ֑י of My mouth , p̄î וּמִשְׁפָּטֶ֖יךָ and My judgments ū·miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā יֵצֵֽא׃ go forth yê·ṣê א֥וֹר like lightning . ’ō·wr Hosea 6:6 כִּ֛י For kî חָפַ֖צְתִּי I desire ḥā·p̄aṣ·tî חֶ֥סֶד mercy , ḥe·seḏ וְלֹא־ not wə·lō- זָ֑בַח sacrifice , zā·ḇaḥ וְדַ֥עַת and the knowledge wə·ḏa·‘aṯ אֱלֹהִ֖ים of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm מֵעֹלֽוֹת׃ rather than burnt offerings . mê·‘ō·lō·wṯ Hosea 6:7 וְהֵ֕מָּה But they , wə·hêm·māh כְּאָדָ֖ם like Adam , kə·’ā·ḏām עָבְר֣וּ have transgressed ‘ā·ḇə·rū בְרִ֑ית the covenant ; ḇə·rîṯ שָׁ֖ם there šām בָּ֥גְדוּ they were unfaithful bā·ḡə·ḏū בִֽי׃ to Me . ḇî Hosea 6:8 גִּלְעָ֕ד Gilead gil·‘āḏ קִרְיַ֖ת is a city qir·yaṯ
