הָיָ֥ה [and] hā·yāh וְלֹא־ no one wə·lō- מַצִּ֛יל could deliver maṣ·ṣîl לָאַ֖יִל the ram lā·’a·yil מִיָּדֽוֹ׃ from his power . mî·yā·ḏōw Daniel 8:8 וּצְפִ֥יר Thus the goat ū·ṣə·p̄îr הָעִזִּ֖ים . . . hā·‘iz·zîm עַד־ became ‘aḏ- מְאֹ֑ד very mə·’ōḏ הִגְדִּ֣יל great , hiḡ·dîl וּכְעָצְמ֗וֹ but at the height of his power , ū·ḵə·‘ā·ṣə·mōw הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה his large hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh הַקֶּ֣רֶן horn haq·qe·ren נִשְׁבְּרָה֙ was broken off , niš·bə·rāh אַרְבַּע֙ and four ’ar·ba‘ חָז֤וּת prominent ḥā·zūṯ וַֽתַּעֲלֶ֜נָה horns came up wat·ta·‘ă·le·nāh תַּחְתֶּ֔יהָ in its place , taḥ·te·hā לְאַרְבַּ֖ע pointing toward the four lə·’ar·ba‘ רוּח֥וֹת winds rū·ḥō·wṯ הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ of heaven . haš·šā·mā·yim Daniel 8:9 וּמִן־ From ū·min- הָאַחַ֣ת one hā·’a·ḥaṯ מֵהֶ֔ם of [these horns] mê·hem אַחַ֖ת a ’a·ḥaṯ מִצְּעִירָ֑ה little miṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh קֶֽרֶן־ horn qe·ren- יָצָ֥א emerged yā·ṣā וַתִּגְדַּל־ and grew wat·tiḡ·dal- יֶ֛תֶר extensively ye·ṯer אֶל־ toward ’el- הַנֶּ֥גֶב the south han·ne·ḡeḇ הַמִּזְרָ֖ח and the east ham·miz·rāḥ וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- וְאֶל־ and toward wə·’el- הַצֶּֽבִי׃ the Beautiful Land . haṣ·ṣe·ḇî Daniel 8:10 וַתִּגְדַּ֖ל It grew as high wat·tiḡ·dal עַד־ as ‘aḏ- צְבָ֣א the host ṣə·ḇā הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם of heaven , haš·šā·mā·yim וַתַּפֵּ֥ל and it cast down wat·tap·pêl מִן־ some of min- הַצָּבָ֥א the host haṣ·ṣā·ḇā וּמִן־ and [some] ū·min- הַכּוֹכָבִ֖ים of the stars hak·kō·w·ḵā·ḇîm אַ֛רְצָה to the earth , ’ar·ṣāh וַֽתִּרְמְסֵֽם׃ and trampled them . wat·tir·mə·sêm Daniel 8:11 הִגְדִּ֑יל It magnified itself , hiḡ·dîl וּמִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ . . . ū·mim·men·nū וְעַ֥ד even to wə·‘aḏ שַֽׂר־ the Prince śar- הַצָּבָ֖א of the host ; haṣ·ṣā·ḇā הֵרִים it removed hē·rīm הַתָּמִ֔יד His daily sacrifice hat·tā·mîḏ וְהֻשְׁלַ֖ךְ and overthrew wə·huš·laḵ מְכ֥וֹן the place mə·ḵō·wn מִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃ of His sanctuary . miq·dā·šōw Daniel 8:12 בְּפָ֑שַׁע And in the rebellion , bə·p̄ā·ša‘ וְצָבָ֛א the host wə·ṣā·ḇā עַל־ - ‘al- הַתָּמִ֖יד [and] the daily sacrifice hat·tā·mîḏ תִּנָּתֵ֥ן were given over [to the horn] , tin·nā·ṯên וְתַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ and it flung wə·ṯaš·lêḵ אֱמֶת֙ truth ’ĕ·meṯ אַ֔רְצָה to the ground ’ar·ṣāh וְהִצְלִֽיחָה׃ and prospered wə·hiṣ·lî·ḥāh וְעָשְׂתָ֖ה in whatever it did . wə·‘ā·śə·ṯāh Daniel 8:13 וָאֶשְׁמְעָ֥ה Then I heard wā·’eš·mə·‘āh אֶֽחָד־ a ’e·ḥāḏ- קָד֖וֹשׁ holy one qā·ḏō·wōš מְדַבֵּ֑ר speaking , mə·ḏab·bêr אֶחָ֨ד and another ’e·ḥāḏ קָד֜וֹשׁ holy qā·ḏō·wōš לַפַּֽלְמוֹנִ֣י . . . lap·pal·mō·w·nî וַיֹּאמֶר֩ one said way·yō·mer הַֽמְדַבֵּ֗ר to [him] , ham·ḏab·bêr עַד־ “ How ‘aḏ- מָתַ֞י long [until the fulfillment of] mā·ṯay הֶחָז֤וֹן the vision he·ḥā·zō·wn הַתָּמִיד֙ of the daily sacrifice , hat·tā·mîḏ וְהַפֶּ֣שַׁע the rebellion wə·hap·pe·ša‘ שֹׁמֵ֔ם that causes desolation , šō·mêm
