קְרָנָ֑יִם two horns qə·rā·nā·yim עֹמֵ֛ד standing ‘ō·mêḏ לִפְנֵ֥י beside lip̄·nê הָאֻבָ֖ל the canal . hā·’u·ḇāl וְהַקְּרָנַ֣יִם The horns wə·haq·qə·rā·na·yim גְּבֹה֗וֹת were long , gə·ḇō·hō·wṯ וְהָאַחַת֙ but one wə·hā·’a·ḥaṯ גְּבֹהָ֣ה was longer gə·ḇō·hāh מִן־ than min- הַשֵּׁנִ֔ית the other , haš·šê·nîṯ וְהַ֨גְּבֹהָ֔ה and the longer wə·hag·gə·ḇō·hāh עֹלָ֖ה one grew up ‘ō·lāh בָּאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃ later . bā·’a·ḥă·rō·nāh Daniel 8:4 רָאִ֣יתִי I saw rā·’î·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאַ֡יִל the ram hā·’a·yil מְנַגֵּחַ֩ charging mə·nag·gê·aḥ יָ֨מָּה toward the west yām·māh וְצָפ֜וֹנָה and the north wə·ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh וָנֶ֗גְבָּה and the south . wā·neḡ·bāh וְכָל־ No wə·ḵāl לֹֽא־ . . . lō- חַיּוֹת֙ animal ḥay·yō·wṯ יַֽעַמְד֣וּ could stand ya·‘am·ḏū לְפָנָ֔יו against him , lə·p̄ā·nāw וְאֵ֥ין and there was no wə·’ên מַצִּ֖יל deliverance maṣ·ṣîl מִיָּד֑וֹ from his power . mî·yā·ḏōw וְעָשָׂ֥ה He did wə·‘ā·śāh כִרְצֹנ֖וֹ as he pleased ḵir·ṣō·nōw וְהִגְדִּֽיל׃ and became great . wə·hiḡ·dîl Daniel 8:5 וַאֲנִ֣י׀ As I wa·’ă·nî הָיִ֣יתִי was hā·yî·ṯî מֵבִ֗ין contemplating all this , mê·ḇîn וְהִנֵּ֤ה suddenly wə·hin·nêh צְפִיר־ a goat ṣə·p̄îr- וְהַ֨צָּפִ֔יר - wə·haṣ·ṣā·p̄îr חָז֖וּת with a prominent ḥā·zūṯ קֶ֥רֶן horn qe·ren בֵּ֥ין between bên עֵינָֽיו׃ his eyes ‘ê·nāw הָֽעִזִּים֙ . . . hā·‘iz·zîm בָּ֤א came bā מִן־ out of min- הַֽמַּעֲרָב֙ the west , ham·ma·‘ă·rāḇ עַל־ crossing ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י the surface pə·nê כָל־ of the entire ḵāl הָאָ֔רֶץ earth hā·’ā·reṣ וְאֵ֥ין without wə·’ên נוֹגֵ֖עַ touching nō·w·ḡê·a‘ בָּאָ֑רֶץ the ground . bā·’ā·reṣ Daniel 8:6 וַיָּבֹ֗א He came way·yā·ḇō עַד־ toward ‘aḏ- הַקְּרָנַ֔יִם the two-horned haq·qə·rā·na·yim אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הָאַ֙יִל֙ ram hā·’a·yil בַּ֣עַל . . . ba·‘al רָאִ֔יתִי I had seen rā·’î·ṯî עֹמֵ֖ד standing ‘ō·mêḏ לִפְנֵ֣י beside lip̄·nê הָאֻבָ֑ל the canal hā·’u·ḇāl וַיָּ֥רָץ and rushed way·yā·rāṣ אֵלָ֖יו at him ’ê·lāw בַּחֲמַ֥ת with furious ba·ḥă·maṯ כֹּחֽוֹ׃ power . kō·ḥōw Daniel 8:7 וּרְאִיתִ֞יו I saw him ū·rə·’î·ṯîw מַגִּ֣יעַ׀ approach mag·gî·a‘ אֵ֣צֶל . . . ’ê·ṣel הָאַ֗יִל the ram hā·’a·yil וַיִּתְמַרְמַ֤ר in a rage way·yiṯ·mar·mar אֵלָיו֙ against him , ’ê·lāw וַיַּ֣ךְ and he struck way·yaḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאַ֔יִל the ram hā·’a·yil וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙ and shattered way·šab·bêr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁתֵּ֣י his two šə·tê קְרָנָ֔יו horns . qə·rā·nāw בָּאַ֖יִל The ram bā·’a·yil הָ֥יָה was hā·yāh וְלֹא־ vvv wə·lō- כֹ֛חַ powerless ḵō·aḥ לַעֲמֹ֣ד to stand la·‘ă·mōḏ לְפָנָ֑יו against him , lə·p̄ā·nāw וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤הוּ and the goat threw him way·yaš·lî·ḵê·hū אַ֙רְצָה֙ to the ground ’ar·ṣāh וַֽיִּרְמְסֵ֔הוּ and trampled him , way·yir·mə·sê·hū
