Daniel 5:22 וְאַנְתָּה But you wə·ʾan·tå̄h בְּרֵהּ֙ his son , bə·rêh בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֔ר O Belshazzar , bê·lə·šaṣ·ṣar לָ֥א have not lā הַשְׁפֵּ֖לְתְּ humbled haš·pê·lət לִבְבָ֑ךְ your heart , liḇ·ḇāḵ קֳבֵ֕ל even though qo·ḇêl דִּ֥י . . . dî כָל־ . . . ḵāl יְדַֽעְתָּ׃ you knew yə·ḏa‘·tā כָּל־ all kāl- דְּנָ֖ה this . də·nāh Daniel 5:23 הִתְרוֹמַ֡מְתָּ Instead, you have exalted hiṯ·rō·w·mam·tā וְעַ֣ל yourself against wə·‘al מָרֵֽא־ the Lord mā·rê- שְׁמַיָּ֣א׀ of heaven . šə·may·yā וּלְמָֽאנַיָּ֨א The vessels ū·lə·mā·nay·yā דִֽי־ from ḏî- בַיְתֵ֜הּ His house ḇay·ṯêh הַיְתִ֣יו were brought hay·ṯîw קָדָמַיִךְ to you , qå̄·ḏå̄·ma·yiḵ וְאַנְתָּה and as you wə·ʾan·tå̄h שָׁתַ֣יִן drank šā·ṯa·yin חַמְרָא֮ wine ḥam·rā בְּהוֹן֒ from them bə·hō·wn וְרַבְרְבָנַיִךְ with your nobles , wə·raḇ·rə·ḇå̄·na·yiḵ שֵֽׁגְלָתָ֣ךְ wives , šê·ḡə·lā·ṯāḵ וּלְחֵנָתָךְ֮ and concubines , ū·lə·ḥê·nā·ṯāḵ שַׁבַּ֑חְתָּ you praised šab·baḥ·tā וְלֵֽאלָהֵ֣י [your] gods wə·lê·lā·hê כַסְפָּֽא־ of silver ḵas·pā- וְ֠דַהֲבָא and gold , wə·ḏa·hă·ḇā נְחָשָׁ֨א bronze nə·ḥā·šā פַרְזְלָ֜א and iron , p̄ar·zə·lā אָעָ֣א wood ’ā·‘ā וְאַבְנָ֗א and stone , wə·’aḇ·nā דִּ֠י which dî לָֽא־ cannot lā- חָזַ֧יִן see ḥā·za·yin וְלָא־ or wə·lā- שָׁמְעִ֛ין hear šā·mə·‘în וְלָ֥א or wə·lā יָדְעִ֖ין understand . yā·ḏə·‘în לָ֥א But you have failed to lā הַדַּֽרְתָּ׃ glorify had·dar·tā וְלֵֽאלָהָ֞א the God wə·lê·lā·hā דִּֽי־ who dî- לֵ֖הּ holds lêh בִּידֵ֛הּ in His hand bî·ḏêh נִשְׁמְתָ֥ךְ your very breath niš·mə·ṯāḵ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אֹרְחָתָ֥ךְ your ways . ’ō·rə·ḥā·ṯāḵ Daniel 5:24 בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ Therefore bê·ḏa·yin מִן־ . . . min- קֳדָמ֔וֹהִי . . . qo·ḏā·mō·w·hî שְׁלִ֖יַחַ He sent šə·li·ya·aḥ פַּסָּ֣א . . . pas·sā דִֽי־ . . . ḏî- יְדָ֑א the hand yə·ḏā רְשִֽׁים׃ that wrote rə·šîm דְנָ֖ה the ḏə·nāh וּכְתָבָ֥א inscription . ū·ḵə·ṯā·ḇā Daniel 5:25 וּדְנָ֥ה Now this ū·ḏə·nāh כְתָבָ֖א is the inscription ḵə·ṯā·ḇā דִּ֣י that dî רְשִׁ֑ים was written : rə·šîm מְנֵ֥א MENE , mə·nê מְנֵ֖א MENE , mə·nê תְּקֵ֥ל TEKEL , tə·qêl וּפַרְסִֽין׃ PARSIN . ū·p̄ar·sîn Daniel 5:26 דְּנָ֖ה [And] this də·nāh פְּשַֽׁר־ is the interpretation pə·šar- מִלְּתָ֑א of the message : mil·lə·ṯā מְנֵ֕א MENE mə·nê אֱלָהָ֥א means that God ’ĕ·lā·hā מְנָֽה־ has numbered mə·nāh- מַלְכוּתָ֖ךְ the days of your reign mal·ḵū·ṯāḵ וְהַשְׁלְמַֽהּ׃ and brought it to an end . wə·haš·lə·mah Daniel 5:27 תְּקֵ֑ל TEKEL tə·qêl תְּקִ֥ילְתָּה means that you have been weighed tə·qî·lə·tāh בְמֹֽאזַנְיָ֖א on the scales ḇə·mō·zan·yā וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַתְּ and found wə·hiš·tə·ḵa·ḥat חַסִּֽיר׃ deficient . ḥas·sîr
