עַד־ there until ‘aḏ- אַחַ֖ת the first ’a·ḥaṯ שְׁנַ֥ת year šə·naṯ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃פ of King ham·me·leḵ לְכ֥וֹרֶשׁ Cyrus . lə·ḵō·w·reš Daniel 2:1 שְׁתַּ֗יִם In the second šə·ta·yim וּבִשְׁנַ֣ת year ū·ḇiš·naṯ נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר of his nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar לְמַלְכוּת֙ reign , lə·mal·ḵūṯ נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּ֖ר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar חָלַ֥ם had dreams ḥā·lam חֲלֹמ֑וֹת . . . ḥă·lō·mō·wṯ וַתִּתְפָּ֣עֶם that troubled wat·tiṯ·pā·‘em רוּח֔וֹ his spirit , rū·ḥōw וּשְׁנָת֖וֹ and sleep ū·šə·nā·ṯōw נִהְיְתָ֥ה escaped nih·yə·ṯāh עָלָֽיו׃ him . ‘ā·lāw Daniel 2:2 הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ So the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר gave orders way·yō·mer לִקְרֹ֨א to summon liq·rō וְלָֽאַשָּׁפִ֗ים the magicians , wə·lā·’aš·šā·p̄îm לַֽחַרְטֻמִּ֜ים enchanters , la·ḥar·ṭum·mîm וְלַֽמְכַשְּׁפִים֙ sorcerers , wə·lam·ḵaš·šə·p̄îm וְלַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים and astrologers wə·lak·kaś·dîm לְהַגִּ֥יד to explain lə·hag·gîḏ לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ - lam·me·leḵ חֲלֹמֹתָ֑יו his dreams . ḥă·lō·mō·ṯāw וַיָּבֹ֕אוּ When they came way·yā·ḇō·’ū וַיַּֽעַמְד֖וּ and stood way·ya·‘am·ḏū לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king , ham·me·leḵ Daniel 2:3 הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ he ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר said to them , way·yō·mer לָהֶ֛ם . . . lā·hem חֲל֣וֹם “ I have had a dream ḥă·lō·wm חָלָ֑מְתִּי . . . , ḥā·lā·mə·tî רוּחִ֔י and my spirit rū·ḥî וַתִּפָּ֣עֶם is anxious wat·tip·pā·‘em לָדַ֖עַת to understand lā·ḏa·‘aṯ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֲלֽוֹם׃ it . ” ha·ḥă·lō·wm Daniel 2:4 הַכַּשְׂדִּ֛ים Then the astrologers hak·kaś·dîm וַֽיְדַבְּר֧וּ answered way·ḏab·bə·rū לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king lam·me·leḵ אֲרָמִ֑ית in Aramaic , ’ă·rā·mîṯ מַלְכָּא֙ “ O king , mal·kā חֱיִ֔י may you live ḥĕ·yî לְעָלְמִ֣ין forever ! lə·‘ā·lə·mîn אֱמַ֥ר Tell ’ĕ·mar לְעַבְדַּיִךְ your servants lə·ʿaḇ·da·yiḵ חֶלְמָ֛א the dream , ḥel·mā נְחַוֵּֽא׃ and we will give nə·ḥaw·wê וּפִשְׁרָ֥א the interpretation . ” ū·p̄iš·rā Daniel 2:5 מַלְכָּא֙ The king mal·kā וְאָמַ֣ר . . . wə·’ā·mar עָנֵ֤ה replied ‘ā·nêh לְכַשְׂדָּיֵא to the astrologers , lə·ḵaś·då̄·yē מִלְּתָ֖א “ My word mil·lə·ṯā מִנִּ֣י . . . min·nî אַזְדָּ֑א is final : ’az·dā הֵ֣ן If hên לָ֤א you do not lā תְהֽוֹדְעוּנַּ֙נִי֙ tell me ṯə·hō·wḏ·‘ūn·na·nî חֶלְמָ֣א the dream ḥel·mā וּפִשְׁרֵ֔הּ and its interpretation , ū·p̄iš·rêh תִּתְעַבְד֔וּן you will be cut tiṯ·‘aḇ·ḏūn הַדָּמִין֙ into pieces had·dā·mîn וּבָתֵּיכ֖וֹן and your houses ū·ḇāt·tê·ḵō·wn יִתְּשָׂמֽוּן׃ will be reduced yit·tə·śā·mūn נְוָלִ֥י to rubble . nə·wā·lî Daniel 2:6 וְהֵ֨ן But if wə·hên תְּֽהַחֲוֺ֔ן you tell me tə·ha·ḥă·wōn חֶלְמָ֤א the dream ḥel·mā וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ and its interpretation , ū·p̄iš·rêh תְּקַבְּל֖וּן you will receive tə·qab·bə·lūn מִן־ from min- קֳדָמָ֑י me qo·ḏā·māy מַתְּנָ֤ן gifts mat·tə·nān וּנְבִזְבָּה֙ and rewards ū·nə·ḇiz·bāh שַׂגִּ֔יא and great śag·gî וִיקָ֣ר honor . wî·qār לָהֵ֕ן So lā·hên
